326 - Herb Baumeister: Serial Killing Leads to a Haunting?

Herb Baumeister was VERY likely the I-70 Strangler, killing a suspected nine boys and men between 1980 and 1990. And then, over the next six years, he seems to have killed at least another twenty-five men and boys and buried them on his Indianapolis area property. And now this property - Fox Hollow Farms - is reportedly VERY haunted. Today we explore what we know about Herb's life, go over the many suspected crimes, and how he was about to be arrested before he took his own life. And then, after our timeline, explore claims that his old Westfield, Indiana property is haunted.

Holiday Action: The Long Kiss Goodnight & Violent Night

Holiday Action: The Long Kiss Goodnight & Violent Night

In this week’s episode of the AIPT Movies podcast, Alex, Tim, and Matt discuss one of the greatest entries in the “Christmas Action” subgenre, The Long Kiss Goodnight! Is this the best Black Widow movie we’ll ever get? How does it compare to more prominent Christmas Action movies like Die Hard or Lethal Weapon? Is this Samuel L. Jackson’s best role?! Listen now to find out!

Also, Alex saw The Fabelmans and the most recent Christmas Action movie, Violent Night! Alex loved Violent Night so much that it will definitely become one of his holiday viewing traditions. On a less positive note, Tim and Alex both saw Bullet Train and ended up wishing the train got to its destination much faster.

You can find AIPT Movies on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. As always, if you enjoy the podcast, be sure to leave us a positive rating, subscribe to the show, and tell your friends!

The AIPT Movies podcast brings you the latest in movie news, reviews, and more! Hosted by supposed “industry vets,” Alex Harris, Tim Gardiner, and Matt Paul, the show gives you a peek behind the scenes from three filmmakers with oddly nonexistent filmographies. You can find Alex on Instagram and Twitter @ActionHarris. Matt is a terrific artist that you can find on Instagram @no_wheres_ville. Tim can’t be found on social media because he doesn’t exist. If you have any questions or suggestions for the AIPT Movies crew, they can be reached at aiptmoviespod@gmail.com, or you can find them on Twitter @AIPTmoviesPod.

Theme song is “We Got it Goin On” by Cobra Man.

    Licorice Pizza (2021)

    Licorice Pizza (2021)

We only get a new Paul Thomas Anderson film every 3-5 years, and every time it's cause for celebration. His latest film Licorice Pizza (2021) is about young love set in a dreamy version of the San Fernando Valley in the 1970s. Jason Furie and Adam Roth stack this one up against his near flawless film history and ultimately decide where it ranks.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999)

Welcome to the Popcorn and Soda 50th episode spectacular. Jason Furie and Adam Roth have an extended talk about one of the most argued about films in cinematic history, you guessed it, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999). George Lucas returns to write and direct a new trilogy for a new generation. Jason and Adam discuss how Star Wars impacted their childhood, what their 1999 Phantom Menace theatre experience was like, and have a healthy conversation about the dawn of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. We've got a bad feeling about this.
