How We Attract God’s Favor Through Our Humility

How We Attract God’s Favor Through Our Humility

On this episode of the Women in Ministry Leadership Podcast, host Julie Cole and guest host, Angela Pruis, sit down with Pastor Lorena Valle, the Southlake Campus Associate Pastor at Gateway Church (Southlake, TX). Lorena is the first female to hold the role, in addition to being a descendant of Guatemala.

Pastor Lorena shares her story of moving to the U.S. as a teenager to pursue her education, to serving in various ministry roles over the years. She recently then stepped into a greater leadership role at Gateway Church as Associate Campus Pastor. Often being the only woman in the room, Pastor Lorena talks about how her trust in the Lord allowed her to move through her roles with greater humility, maintaining a heart to serve others above all else.

While her gender and ethnicity could have been a vice for exclusion, she learned the joy of faithfulness, trusting the Lord with the outcome in every season. God's favor went before her and opened doors that no man can shut.

When the Wicked Beareth Rule: The Story of a Former Mega-Church Worship Leader with Sage Salazar

When the Wicked Beareth Rule: The Story of a Former Mega-Church Worship Leader with Sage Salazar

Mega-churches have been a hot topic in the past several years. Reports of deception, greed, and abuse of every kind have been coming to light, and it’s easy to see why people are so enthralled.

In this episode, we’re going behind the scenes of a megachurch with former worship leader, Sage Salazar, as they share their transformative journey from a starry-eyed believer to a liberated skeptic. Their experiences with a culture of extreme control, church "Hollywood" glam, and heartbreaking abuse are eye-opening.

    Episode 1: The Drivetrain

    Episode 1: The Drivetrain
If, like John MacArthur, your ministry is going to endure for more than a half-century, you need to know how to navigate doctrinal disagreements within your local congregation and with other pastors, churches, and Christian leaders. To do that well, you have to know how to prioritize doctrine and practice what’s often been called theological triage. See how John MacArthur has practiced this kind of triage and kept his ministry doctrinally pure by focusing on what he calls the Drivetrain. This is episode one of season 3 of the MacArthur Center podcast.
