    Val King of Whitehat Technologies

    Val King of Whitehat Technologies

Host James sits down with Val King.

Val is the CEO of Whitehat Virtual Technologies and responsible for day-to-day-operations, as well as leading the company’s product development and technology strategy. Val has 20 years of experience in technology, compliance, and security in regulated industries, particularly in financial services and healthcare. Currently Val serves in a dual role as CIO for a regional healthcare system.

“The last 18 inches between the screen and the end-user is the Point of Execution, where end user experience matters, where technology either improves productivity, and thus the business, or hinders it.

“Every business needs IT. Every business buys IT, but not every business is able to confidently cross that divide from IT being just a cost of doing business to a tool delivering outcomes that makes business measurably better.” Val is focused on making this a core competency of Whitehat Virtual Technologies, benefiting every customer we serve.

    We speak with Larry Mandelberg.

Larry is an effective catalyst for change who achieved new levels of efficacy and growth for businesses in industries as diverse as software, automotive, education and agriculture.

If change is causing your staff grief, frustration, baldness, or acne, I can help. After all, nobody likes change done unto them. Everybody likes change they do unto others, and I know how to flip that script.

This class provides proprietary content from Larry Mandelberg, a non-recovering, 5th generation serial entrepreneur who’s owned 13+ businesses. He has launched four start-ups, led a merger, and performed a successful turnaround. A prolific writer, Larry has published more than 80 columns. His first book, Businesses Don’t Fail, They Commit Suicide is scheduled for release in early 2023. A sought-after speaker, he has delivered more than 60 business-changing keynotes and workshops.

Mr. Mandelberg is a student of organizational lifecycles and has developed a system to help business owners create sustainable growth. He has been a guest on television and radio programs talking about business and entrepreneurship. Through his consulting practice he provides leadership development, executive coaching, ethics training and strategic planning to mid-sized organizations and their Boards.

    ---

Segment Two: MSP Question of the Week

All things MSP group owner, Eric Anthony, asked his question of the day, "Do you use SLA’s?"

He got zip, zero, nada responses to his post. And he asks why that is.
So we ask, does anyone care about SLA from an MSP?

Loren Williams - Retired Computers to Bridge the Digital Divide

Host Karl sits down with Loren Williams of PCs for People.

After more than 25 years working for IBM and other companies that bought, sold, and leased computer equipment, Loren Williams moved to the non-profit sector joining PCs for People in 2021. According to the Pew Research Center, about 4 in 10 adults with lower incomes do not have a desktop or laptop computer (41%). Host Karl speaks with Lee Darke of Information Technology Service Providers of Canada, a non-Profit organization dedicated to the Canadian IT Services Sector. ITSPC's goal is to provide a membership-based approach to industry standardization that helps IT Service Providers align to a common standard of service delivery curated by industry peers.

On today's show, Toby and Karl delve into the latest in cybersecurity and its changing environment.

Since our last conversation, activity in the cybersecurity space has changed drastically as the conflict in Ukraine continues to shake the globe.

Toby and Karl discuss how FieldEffect and other cybersecurity vendors are navigating the emerging threats and how their services are adapting to this everchanging platform.

Karl also had the chance to ask Toby about the White Paper, prepared by Aite Novarica. In the White Paper, Aite Novarica surveyed five, random partners of FieldEffect to learn about their experience so far with the company.

Toby summarizes for us the conclusion of Aite Novarica's finds.
