What Are The Greatest Western Movies of All Time?

What Are The Greatest Western Movies of All Time?
Beave and Len talk about the genre of Western movies. Beave does not include "Tombstone" in his all-time Top Ten, and prepares to get yelled at. They talk "Lone Star", which devolves into a discussion of the movies of John Sayles. Plus "Stagecoach", "Unforgiven", "The Searchers", "The Wild Bunch", "Rio Bravo", "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly", "Shane", "High Noon", and much more. They talk "Hud", which disintegrates into Beave mooning over Patricia Neal. They talk "McCabe & Mrs. Miller", and Warren Beatty's beard. Tune in for ultimate Western knowledge!

    Along comes Mary Fields

    Along comes Mary Fields
„Born a slave somewhere in Tennessee, Mary lived to become one of the freest souls ever to draw a breath, or a .38“, so beschrieb sie der Schauspieler Gary Cooper. // Shownotes unter www.wdr.de/k/lost-sheroes Von Milena Straube.

    Memories over Macros

    Memories over Macros

A friendly reminder for all my listeners, sometimes those memories are more important than tracking those macros.

It is so important to know the difference of when you need to be 100% on point and when you need to be more present in the moment, enjoying and living life. If you are constantly thinking about if you're hitting your nutrition, if you're getting your steps, in getting your workouts in, always getting your water in, really hitting all of your plan protocols all of the time. This can be a very unhealthy mindset that can lead to some serious side effects. If you continue down that road, it can lead to different disordered eating different, disordered mindsets. body issues, all sorts of things.

If you're really trying to make your health a priority, that's not a journey you want to be on or something you want to have to heal and recover from. So paying attention to when is a good time to stick to the protocols and when is a good time to be more lacks is key here, and I’m sharing all about it in this episode.

EP 10. A New Golden Country Great: Orville Peck

EP 10. A New Golden Country Great: Orville Peck

With a definition as wide as the Montana sky and featuring tales as tall as Kentucky bluegrass, Country music is as American as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Over the past several years, Keith has dipped his toe in the proverbial water of those stylings we reckon as Country music. Now, a gluttonous alligator stalks him, ready to latch onto that toe and drag him deep into the bog that represents said musical compositions in this arcane metaphor. Steve isn't that into it.

Join our intrepid musical explorers as they mangle another genre of music in their never-ending quest to leave Dad Rock behind. Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Ween, and some guy named Aldean are the colors that paint a sunset over the Great Smoky Mountains. In the foreground is a masked cowboy, a mysterious rising star that goes by Orville Peck.

If you've made it this far, you may as well enjoy these fine musical selections:
"Six Feet Apart" by Luke Combs
"Long Arm of the Law" by Kenny Rogers
    "Rearview Town" by Jason Aldean
"A Horse With No Name" by America
    "Blue Tacoma" by Russell Dickerson
    "Love Bites" by Def Leppard
"Picture to Burn" by Taylor Swift
    "Pretty Girl" by Ween
"What Makes You Country" by Luke Bryan
"Beer Never Broke My Heart" by Luke Bryan
"Queen of the Rodeo" by Orville Peck
"No Glory in the West" by Orville Peck
"Mexican Roulette" by The Flaming Stars
"Always on My Mind" by Willie Nelson

Screenwriters Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio (the Despicable Me movies, Secret Life of Pets, The Lorax, Horton Hears a Who) make each other watch movies they've never seen before and then talk about them. In this episode Cinco makes Ken watch the classic 1939 John Ford western Stagecoach, and Ken makes Cinco watch the 1981 Greek mythology fantasy Clash of the Titans. What did they think? Listen and find out!
