A film never felt more relatable than this because of the new era we are in. KIMI (2022) is a film we can all relate to because of how current and similar our situation is to the main character. But at least we can look back on it as a rare time in this world and say we experienced something no one has ever before. Oh yeah and also we give our quick thoughts on Nicolas Cage's new movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Michael Bay's explosive new film Ambulance. As well as the week's biggest film & tv news headlines.

    This week's foundation:
A PSA to get vaccinated if you can, wear a mask if possible, and giving thanks to all the healthcare workers, first responders, and essential workers.

PREVIEW: Secs, Guys and Videotapes #63 w/ Parents Just Don't Understand

**Our April Fools Episode** A special advance preview of Aaron & Carlee's new limited series, Secs, Guys, and Videotapes: an exploration of Steven Soderbergh's 1998 crime thriller 'Out Of Sight'...one second at a time. On this episode, the Hit Factory hosts are joined by Chris Woodward and Kurt Schiller of the excellent Parents Just Don't Understand Podcast to explore second number 63. It's a wide-ranging discussion that advances the theory of the Soviet Second (an interval roughly one half longer than the standard western equivalent), the direct lineage from 1971 cult classic 'Vanishing Point' to Dave Matthews Band, and a celebration of the rare "Split" Second in which a cut falls directly in the middle of a one-second interval.

    S06E02: Traffic

    S06E02: Traffic
Zack Handlen joins us for 2000's Soderbergh Oscar magnet Traffic, which at least one of your co-hosts forgot Dennis Quaid was even in, much less that he played a sleazy Mob-fixer lawyer whose wardrobe erodes really weirdly over the 2.5-hour runtime. Is Quaid miscast? Is this the last time we'll contend with Topher Grace on this podcast? Which plotline is the weakest here, and does Traffic suffer from breaking ground we've seen covered a thousand times since thanks TO Traffic? All these questions, plus '50s-pulp scaremongering, 17-year-old dickheads who read too much, who "invented" Mexico As Yellow, and making our peace with the word "propulsive." Crank us up to jam the bug: it's an all-new Quaid In Full. Contagion

    Contagion
Late to the Movies gets real with Steven Soderbergh's star-studded, eerily prescient "Contagion" (2011). Ben, Jeffrey, and Kate talk about the science, the obvious real-world parallels, and the stars: Matt Damon, Marion Cotillard, Laurence Fishburne, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet.

Jordan and Brooke are joined by Cate Young (Thirty, Flirty + Film) to discuss 2013's twisty sexy thriller. It's the epitome of a "be gay do crime" movie, a great example of why you should always cast hot people and never put Channing Tatum in a fedora, Soderbergh's fake retirement film, and an all around blast of a plot.
