The Evil Dead vol 2 (w/ Elissa Wagner)

The Evil Dead vol 2 (w/ Elissa Wagner)

We’re not out of the cabin yet! That’s right, it’s time to unearth vol. 2 of our analysis of 1981’s THE EVIL DEAD as we dip into the film’s ferocious second half with the help of Returning Champion, the one - the only - Elissa Wagner!! Along the way, we delve into how Ashley transforms into Ash, how Uncle Stephen King helped propel the film into the order cult cannon, explore the endless charms of stop motion monsters, invoke the Dog Police music video, consider bone flutes, and ask whether this group will be getting their cleaning deposit back!! All this, plus an oatmeal drenched-edition of Choose Your Won Deathventure, and we consider how many graves we could really dig in one night!! We’re reading the Necronomicon chapter and verse on Kill By Kill!!

    The Evil Dead vol 1

    The Evil Dead vol 1

A cabin in the woods. A group of college friends. And a book in the cellar someone just cannot stop themselves from reading. These are the basic elements that create one of the most lasting horror franchises of all time - and it’s our starting point for Season Five of the Kill By Kill podcast talking about the one, the only, the original - THE EVIL DEAD!! Listen along with us as we crack the flesh-covered spine of the Necronomicon, explore Sudden Oatmeal Syndrome, wonder why a blender somehow makes the trip, unlock the unpredictable elements that make the film so compelling, and learn a new rule: there’s always a La Quinta! All this, plus we recount how much we hate Scott, we resurrect a variation of Choose Your Own Deathventure, and we introduce a new character we like to call “HOA Deadite!” We’re going more in-depth than a Sam Raimi close-up of Bruce Campbell’s monobrow on our first Evil Dead episode of the season!!

CW: This episode does discuss the woodland SA that occurs in the movie. If such conversations are not something you wish to hear about, we suggest skipping that section.

    Evil Dead (2013): "Demonic Cunnilingus"

    Evil Dead (2013): "Demonic Cunnilingus"

Evil Dead (2013)? More like ~evil head.~ Featuring 70,000 gallons of fake blood and a little demonic cunnilingus, this modern take on the ‘80s classic gives audiences a darker, grittier, gorier version of what happens when five souls stumble across the Necronomicon while stranded in the woods. On a new episode of Spooky Tuesday, we’re diving deeper into the Evil Dead lore as we explore possible plot holes, give Jane Levy her kudos, and break down what did or didn’t measure up to the original franchise.

Potential Pick - Evil Dead Rise

Potential Pick - Evil Dead Rise

Chris and Taylor review the supernatural horror,  Evil Dead Rise, written and directed by Lee Cronin and produced by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell. It is the fifth installment of the Evil Dead film series. The film stars Alyssa Sutherland, Lilly Sullivan, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, Richard Crouchley, Anna-Marie Thomas and Nell Fisher (in her film debut) appear in supporting roles.

Ep. 65: Evil Dead II (1987)

Ep. 65: Evil Dead II (1987)

    ...Groovy!

This week, Matt and Cody have a soul to swallow, you little suckers! The boys continue their journey through Evil Dead April with one of the most influential Horror Comedies of all time! They debate the relevance of recaps, carnivorous callbacks, and the fruitiest cellar left in this dimension. Not to mention, taxidermized animals, dancing furniture, claymation to die for, BOBBBBBY JOOOOOO, their love of Bruce C, and of course, what makes this an all-timer.

So, grab the pages of that ancient tome and...hand...yourself over to the two worst Kandarian Demons you know, they have themselves a witch to carve.

    Thanks for listening!

    Episode 61 | Evil Dead (2013)
🩸 Not only does Evil Dead Rise release this month in theatres, but we are also celebrating the 10th anniversary of Evil Dead...the reeeeemake? requel? reboot? Whatever its official moniker is, it's a movie that has plenty of fans separate from the original Sam Raimi franchise starring Bruce Campbell. So in this episode, we continue our journey towards the new film release, but discussing all things in this 2013 chapter, including the new vision of director Fede Alvarez, bringing along updated effects, as well as Jane Levy's turn as final girl Mia Allen. Also, as always, we'll choose which character we think was most deserving to die. So stick around with us until the end.

    #21 Indie-Horror – The Evil Dead (1981) / The Convenience Store (2020)

    #21 Indie-Horror – The Evil Dead (1981) / The Convenience Store (2020)
