Austin tells where this falls in his ranking of Quentin Tarantino movies, and Big T talks about why this film might not be for him (but why he can appreciate it).  We discuss the racial undertones of the film as well as how misogyny plays a role in part of the plot. We also answer the age old question: is there anything worse than getting your nuts shot off? (spoiler: there is)

    Von fiktiven Männlichkeiten geht unser Blick nun zu realen Männlichkeiten und Machtverhältnisse in der Filmindustrie: Die Studie „WHERE ARE THE WOMEN DIRECTORS“ – „Wo sind die Regisseurinnen?“ ist ein Bericht über Geschlechtergerechtigkeit oder eher – ungerchtigkeit in der europäischen Filmindustrie. Diese wurde vom Europäische Netzwerk von Frauen in Audiovisuellen Berufen (EWA) in Auftrag gegeben. In einem zweijährigen Prozess wurden vergleichende Untersuchungen aus sieben europäischen Ländern: Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien, Kroatien, Österreich, Schweden und das Vereinigte Königreich zusammengebracht. Der Bericht wurde vor kurzem im Rahmen der Berlinale präsentiert. Wir haben die Zusammenfassung aufgeblättert.

    Marley Dias, ein 11-jährige Mädchen aus New Jersey, Amerika, hatte es satt, nur von weißen Jungs* oder Hunden in der Schule, zu lesen. Marley startete das Projekt #1000BlackGirlBooks auf Twitter. Bis 1. Februar, so das Ziel der 11-Jährigen, will sie 1000 Bücher mit schwarzen Titelheldinnen zu sammeln und diese dann an eine Kinderbibliothek in Jamaica spenden. Und das hat sie geschafft.

    28. Februar um 18 Uhr findet ein „Philosophicum Feminismus – heute“ im Kepler Salon statt. Die Politik- und Medienanalytikerin Maria Pernegger spricht über den Platz von Frauen* in Medien, Gesellschaft und Politik unter den Titel: “Zwischen Rollenklischees und Machtspielchen”.
    Am 8. März ist der Internationale Frauentag und mit Feminismus und Krawall gibt es Programm den ganzen Tag – unter anderem ein screening des Film „Femmes Brutal“ in der Stadtwerkstatt. Danach DJ Programm mit Teilnehmer*innen aus den F.u.K. DJ-Protestlabor.

    Am 9.März um 19 Uhr eine Lesung aus dem buch „Der Körper als Ware: Feministische Interventionen“. Die Autorin Lisbeth N. Trallori liest selbst. Im Ernst Koref-Heim // Prunerstraße 3a // Linz.
