Are you sharing too much with your audience? Sure, we like to see what’s going on with your Cosplays – the work in progress, the Con-going, the photoshoots, but do we want to know about your relationships, the battles you’re getting into online, the controversy, and some of the other grit that people share with their communities in the name of attention?
I do not.
What you choose to share is your business, but I find that the version of what we are online – often even the drama is fabricated. You have to be careful.

But how much is too much information to share? Are we going too far in order to gain a following and is it possible to give TMI on social media? In this episode my sister, Jen and I discuss whether or not you can actually overshare on social media.
Learning boundaries of self containment means I only share things that are personal with trustworthy people. Boundaries of self protection means I get to decide what I will and will not tolerate. I give examples of each type of boundaries I've set, and I also make the case that boundaries of self containment are also boundaries of self protection.
