Rebecca Jaffe and the Missouri Tree Frogs

Rebecca Jaffe and the Missouri Tree Frogs

Rebecca Jaffe started doing stand-up in the St. Louis scene. After graduating from Milikin University, she moved to Chicago with Hannah Magy to do stand-up and sketch comedy. Rebecca, who took classes at Second City, comes from a musical family -- her mom loves Broadway -- and was in a Jewish bluegrass band with her father and sibling called the Missouri Tree Frogs. She's been able to disarm audiences with her ukelele during her stand-up career, too.

Ep. 24 - Weird Dreams, WHAT DO THEY MEAN? (with Jack Harris!)

Happy Sunday, y'all! We sat down in the LG Studio with Cleveland pop artist Jack Harris and got real deep talking about the weirdest dreams we ever had, his on-set injury during the recording of his newest music video "Bad News (Mona Lisa)", and his father starting beef with Flo Rida (Mr. Rida, you have 24 hours to respond). We also uncover Jurbz's Jameson-related injury, and all agree that when it comes to local music, Cleveland is where its at. Check out the performance at the end, where we get to hear 2 unreleased tracks!

Check out Jack's latest stuff right here and give him a follow! Thanks again, Jack, for your time and we cannot wait to hear the next single!

    Droomstof

    Droomstof

281 - Fender’s new guitar, YouTube trolls and NGD

Brian and Blake are back with another episode of the Chasing Tone podcast.

Apparently Fender sent out a little teaser for a new guitar they are ready to release. The design puts some new twists on the Fender look. The guys talk about the new developments and where you may be able to get your hands on one.

Internet trolls. They can be annoying and even sometimes amusing (to a point)  Brian shares the posts that had he and Josh Scott (JHS) scratching their heads.

NGD. Usually means New GEAR day, and for Blake that is true. But for Brian it means new GOAT day. His goats had a couple of kids (awwww) but the runt has to have some extra TLC. Find out what new pedal Blake got and how Brian is spoiling a goat.

Neckbeards in grandma’s basement, Ukuleles with B Benders, germanium myths.  It’s all in this week’s episode of the Chasing Tone podcast.

#81 The Magic of the Hoot with Ruth Ungar Merenda, Vern Fannin and Ally Britton

The Summer Hoot is coming up y'all! Today I get to sit down with a few of the women who make it happen. Ruth Ungar Merenda, is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist who plays fiddle, ukulele and guitar with the Mammals, Mom, AND HOOT festival founder and organizer. Veronica Fannin, illustrator, botanical drawing instructor, children's book author/illustrator AND official Hoot visual artist/designer and co-coordinator. Last but not least Ally Britton, program director at the Ashokan Center and member of the band Silverdome!

What do we talk about today? Lots. Ruthy's first music memory, the power of music, songwriting, why the Hoot started, Vern's background, how they became friends, art for art's sake, making a living as an artist, Ally's work at the Ashokan Center, teaching kids about nature, the fun that will happen like blacksmithing, hikes and kids parades at the Hoot, the magic of the Arm of the Sea Theater, gong baths, performing, getting nervous, Ani Difranco. We hear Ruthy perform "Baby" live from the Mike and Ruthy catalogue, what a treat! We talk about Hoot highlights, the magic of the Ashokan Center and the intentional love that goes into the making of the Hoot.

You want to go right! Get your tickets here. Want to volunteer? Head over here to sign up. Catch the Hoot bus from Radio Kingston...check our website for the details.

We listened to Beautiful One (here's the stop motion beautiful movie that a big fan made...you must watch this!), When My Story Ends and Maple Leaf by the Mammals and Bright as You Can Be by the Mike and Ruthy Band.

Today’s show was engineered by Ben Benton of Radio Kingston, www.radiokingston.org. With special technical support from Manuel Blas and Kale Kaposhilin.
