As Christians we are called be united around the message of the cross, even if this may look foolish and unimpressive to those around us. In this message, Ovi explores what this looks like; the difference between 'foolishness' and the 'power of God', and how we can unite around the foolishness that the Bible describes.

In Ephesians 4:2-6 Paul encourages the church in Ephesus to 'make every effort' to be united with one another. In this message we look at what unity is, and how the covenant meal (comm-union) is an opportunity for Jesus' body (the church) to demonstrate the powerful joining and unity that was made possible when He died on the cross.

Grace in the Bible is the free gift of God. There is nothing we can do to earn it. We can either accept it or reject it, but if we accept it, it doesn’t leave us the same. It changes us from death to life. We cannot build our faith on anything less than this. When we don’t know God or haven’t accepted his gift of grace, we are dead. We are not only dead, but we are guilty. We are guilty before God and his standards for us, but God’s judgment is different from the judgment we know towards one another. God’s judgment is rich in mercy. His gift of grace is a gift of mercy. He offers to us the payment for our guilt if we would only accept it. When we place our trust in Jesus, his life becomes our life. Whatever is true of Jesus, is true of us. Whatever good is in him, is working itself out in you. And whatever Jesus is, in life and death, in mountains and valleys, in darkness and light, wherever Jesus is, you are with him. And nothing can change it.

Meet Dr. Elizabeth Rainwater & Dr. Latonya Rainwater

Dr. Elizabeth Rainwater and Dr. Latonya Rainwater are two Atlanta-based entrepreneurs, preachers, and educators. They have a background in psychology and spent years mentoring students in graduate school. Their passion for education is a big part of their journey, which turned into teaching ESL to students in China online for an education center in Florida. In teaching ESL, Dr. Elizabeth and Dr. Latonya witnessed firsthand just how important it is to not only make certain that students are learning the material taught but that they are maintaining and expanding on it. While teaching, it was clear that every student had different learning styles and that the curriculum needed altering to fit their educational needs. It was not intuition but a tug on the heart that led educators and doctors to design their own educational and inspirational products as ELRSHOP. The name ELRSHOP stems from the first initial of Dr. Elizabeth and Dr. Latonya’s name, giving their online shop a special and unique meaning. In the ELRSHOP, you can find colouring books, crossword puzzles, math and grammar workbooks, and more. Age is no factor, and there is something for everyone.
