    I am SO excited to bring you today's episode featuring the Glucose Goddess herself: Jessie Inchauspe!

    Jessie studied Maths and Biochemistry, and spent her early career on the product team at 23andMe. She's now building her own company and her own brand (@glucosegoddess on Instagram) to help people connect with their bodies and lose weight by wearing a continuous glucose monitor.

    On today's show, Jessie and I discuss her background, why knowing about your blood glucose is important, what ranges your blood glucose should be in, what it feels like when your blood glucose is too high or low, how blood sugar roller coasters create cravings, how products labeled "keto" might be sabotaging your blood glucose levels, hacks to reduce blood sugar spikes, the role of bioindividuality, and SO much more!

    Injuries: How To Maintain Your Weight & Stay Active

    Injuries SUCK. Back in November I hurt my shoulder and couldn't train upper body for 5 weeks, or hold any heavy weights on leg day. Which left me with...cardio 😭 my least fav. As someone who actually LOVES working out, being limited in my movements impacted me physically and mental.

    Me being injured usually looks like,

    1. Ignore it a bit and push though 😬

    2. Realize I’m being an idiot and need to chill 😐

    3. Get really mopey and complain-y about being in pain or having to limit what I do 😩

    4. Accepting it and modifying my program to allow for recovery 🙌🏽

    And while I would love to help all of y’all with injuries, I can’t and won’t. I know the importance of staying in my lane and I know this is a job for medical professionals. This is also why I won’t give personal nutrition advice via DM. As much as I want to help as many people as possible, I never want to do someone a disservice by not knowing all the facts. I also have no problem acknowledging I don’t have the qualifications to speak on certain topics.

When I first start working with a client who says they are under eating, we almost always come to the conclusion they weren't being honest with themselves and the reality is, they aren't correctly recalling everything they are eating.     This episode is near and dear to my heart. I have struggled with my weight for just about my entire life. This episode is not meant to shame or judge anyone who is overweight. We need to love our bodies at all stages of our journey. However, I know what it's like to feel like you're "doing everything right" and the scale won't budge. I've actually been in a situation where I was eating well and exercising and not only was I not losing weight, I was actually GAINING! It was so heartbreaking and discouraging.

    In this episode, I discuss 11 reasons you might not be losing weight. In those 11, I didn't mention eating sugar and processed carbs (like cupcakes and bagels and pizza). I figured that one was a given! 

    Here is my list:

    1.    You’re insulin resistant

    2.    You slowed your metabolism by cutting calories or yo-yo dieting

    3.    You’re eating foods you’re sensitive to

    4.    You’re not fasting/you’re eating too often/You snack

    5.    Your body is stressed

    6.    You’re not eating real food

    7.    Your body is toxic

    8.    You have hormonal imbalance

    9.    You’re eating when you’re not hungry

    10.  You’re doing the wrong type of exercise for your body

    11.  You’re trying too hard and/or you’re not mentally ready for it
