We know that she is one of the best selling music artist of all time with over 220 million record sold worldwide.

Whitney starred and films like: The Bodyguard, Waiting To Exhale, The Preachers Wife,The 1997 film Cinderella, and 2012 film Sparkle. Whitney Houston produced and starred in Sparkle. She is best known for producing the 1997 film Cinderella. She took on the role of the fairy godmother.

Whitney was also recognizing other people who had talent. She recognized three sisters and two cousins who were called Sunday. They were managed by Whitney Houston and Robin Crawford. I don't think they are singing now, but people still remember the group and talk about the group. They were a very good group. Whitney recorded background vocals for the song All of a Sudden on Sundays 2000 self titled debut album. Sunday made a song featuring Whitney Houston Believe In Love.

There was a record label called Better Place Records founded by Whitney Houston. The parent label was Capital Records.

It was Whitney Houston who gave Brandy her first movie credit. She played as Cinderella in the 1997 film Cinderella.

Whitney wanted Aaliyah to be in her movie Sparkle.

Whitney Houston was more than a singer she was more than an actress she was Whitney Houston the producer.

Hello I'm Gail Nobles and you listening to the Whitney soul podcast. Soul! Now that Whitney Houston had. Today we're going to talk about the gospel music Whitney. There is a gospel album out on Whitney titled I Go to the Rock. The album features 14 tracks, including six never-before-released songs, three of which culled from a 1981 recording session when Houston was just seventeen.

The compilation album celebrates Houston's deep roots in gospel music and showcases her talent, faith and passion for the genre. Included are renditions of classics "Jesus Loves Me", "I Love the Lord" and "His Eye Is on the Sparrow." I Go to the Rock features six new unreleased gospel tracks "He Can Use Me," "I Found a Wonderful Way" and "Testimony"; and Houston's live performances of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" with singer CeCe Winans, "This Day" and "He/I Believe".

Released on March 24, 2023, I Go To The Rock: The Gospel Music of Whitney Houston debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart dated April 8, 2023.
My favorite single on the album is I Go to the Rock written by legend Dottie Rambo. I loved and enjoyed seeing Whitney Houston perform it live in her living years.

Welcome back to the SoReal Strips.

Singing: I'm gonna sing! I'm gonna shout!
Yea! I'm gonna sing hallelujah now.

Hi! I’m Gail Nobles. Today’s topic is “The Voice Whitney”.

Whitney Houston is another one of my favorite singers. We have heard things about her that may or may not have been true. But it’s true when they call her the voice. That’s one thing we know for sure. We know Whitney Houston the singer.

Whitney Houston had some things going on in her personal life, but she kept on singing and would remind us of church. She knew the world needed some church.

Whitney Houston has never sung a song titled, I’m Gonna Sing and Shout. But that’s exactly what she did when she was alive. She did sing and shout. Whitney has sung as if she were singing out loud to the back row of an audience. Her voice did travel. She had a lot of power in her singing, and that’s how I was inspired to make the illustration for today’s SoReal strip.

The image of Whitney appears to show the power of her voice. We couldn’t see it, but we most certainly heard it. Whitney kept on singing in her career until she couldn’t sing no more. She left a mark in my life singing.

    Death of Whitney Houston

    Death of Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston was one of the most recognized and successful voices in any era of music. She had chart toping hit after chart topping hit. However, a toxic relationship and a reality show with hip hop artist Bobby Brown brought attention to darker problems lurking in the life of Whitney Houston. She would sadly be dead before the age 50 and an iconic voice would be silenced. One of the 100 darkest moments in pop culture history.

I love the opening scene of the Whitney Houston biopic, “ I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” Now, I haven’t seen the whole movie yet, but I have seen the opening scene. I like the part when Whitney is singing in church played by Naomi Ackie.

    (Singing)

Her mom, Cissy Houston, played by Tamara Tunie is leading the choir. The church crowd was just loving how Whitney was singing. Whitney was tickled thinking she had done a great, but her mom gave her a look as if she was not satisfied.

Then the movie shows Cissy Houston practicing with Whitney telling her to stop. Whitney said: Mom.

    Cissy said: Again!

    Whitney said: Mom!

    Cissy said: Again!

She explained to Whitney that when God gives you a gift, you got to use it right. She explained that she had to learn the melody. Once she learned it then she could play around & do her little flourishes. She told her to pay attention to the words. To complete every word. That every song was a story. If not a story, not a song. Cissy said great singing comes from 3 places. The head, the heart, and the gut. Whitney wanted to quit., but her mom wouldn’t let her.

When I saw that opening scene, it reminded me of me and my mom. Though I haven’t seen all the movie yet, I already know that the opening scene is my favorite part of the movie.

Whitney was blessed that she had a mom to teach her more about how to sing. Some of those things that were taught to Whitney a lot of people didn’t know. They just started singing.

Once Whitney learned all that she was suppose to do in singing, she became the best singer ever. Music & singing became her career. She had a powerful voice and her words were clear & understood. I always thought: Whitney is music & music is Whitney. If you take the music away, you can hear music in her voice. Whitney could sing without music & she had the perfect vibrato.

We live in a world of delusion, & we talk & speculate on things we know nothing about. As far as we know, Whitney & Aaliyah are no longer here with us. Sometimes stories don’t add up. We are fed part of the truth and part of a lie. Some believe that their favorite entertainers that have died are still living. Some believe that they are dead. They say a person can fake his or her death and so on and so on.

There are a lot of worlds you know, and Whitney Houston was in the entertainment world. A world all to itself, and so was Aaliyah. And in that world, sometimes things seemed dark. Whitney and Aaliyah both had their own problems in that world. Like Whitney, Aaliyah was climbing high because she was going to become Whitney’s Sparkle. And Whitney was the voice. The best selling music artist of all time. Well, Aaliyah didn’t make it to star in Whitney’s movie, Sparkle. But Aaliyah did make it to the music & movie world. And so did Whitney.

There are many worlds that we see and can get involved in. But there’s a world beyond all other worlds. There is a plan above man’s plan. I like to think that Whitney and Aaliyah are in the hands of the Lord. I like to think that they are in his world. HE is their creator. HE made them. I believe that they were meant and made for higher things to begin with. I believe that we all are supposed to be connected somehow in the higher plan of God.

All we see is what man puts before us, and what he does is not always good. In God, we have something far better. And that’s what I believe about Whitney Houston The Voice and Aaliyah who's name means High and Most Exalted One. Where they are, I cannot tell you. We’ll just have to wait and see. The Lord didn’t intend for us to know everything. Keep hoping and thinking positive.

I’m Gail Nobles, & you’re listening to The Whitney Soul Podcast. Today’s topic: Whitney Houston and Her Sparkle (Aaliyah).

Whitney Houston sang All At Once twice at Sanremo music festival in 1986. Her live performance of All At Once got a huge standing ovation and Whitney gave the audience an encore the audience requested.

The song All At Once is written by Jeffrey Osborne & Michael Masser. Michael Masser the music & Jeffrey Osborne the lyrics.

The song is from Whitney Houston’s self-titled debut album and was released as a single in several European countries as well as in Japan in 1985–1986. It was not released as a single in North America, but did receive steady radio airplay on Pop and R&B/Soul stations there. It is a ballad about a love who leaves without warning and the heartbreak that is felt afterwards.

Houston performed the song at the 1987 American Music Awards as well as Italy's Sanremo Music Festival. Houston is the first and, so far, only singer to get an encore. Whitney also performed the song in Japan and Europe during her Greatest Love Tour in 1986.

Pat Houston Selling Whitney's Assets For Her Legacy Or The Money?
It's been reported that after Pat Houston sold half of Whitney Houston's assets to Primary Wave, the value quadrupled, and she's claiming it's for her legacy and to put positive things out about Whitney instead of her negative relationships, but this really is not making sense when most people believe her passing was tragic and they cherish her music to this day and not focusing on the things that led up to her death. You’re Still My Man is a song written by Gerry Goffin and Michael Masser. It came from the Album “Whitney” released in 1987. I remember hearing it maybe once or twice on the radio. It sounded like a number one hit to my ears. I had faith in the song. I never heard a ballad quite like that one before. For some reason, I heard other songs on the Whitney Album more times than I heard “You’re Still My Man”.

That’s how it is sometimes, and in those days, if you didn’t buy the album, sometimes you didn’t hear some of the songs because not all songs were played on the radio. And then again, depending on the radio station, sometimes all the songs on a album were played.

Most songs on Whitney’s album were played except two or three I don’t remember. You’re Still My Man was played, and I think it should have been played more. I don’t recall Whitney performing “You’re Still My Man” whenever she appeared on television. She could have in concerts, but I have never been to any of her concerts.

You’re Still My Man is an uplifting song for a man missing a woman that he’s apart from. From a woman that he knows still loves him, and the song is good for the woman too if she feels like the lyrics said.

The lyrics had words like: On the day that you left me
You said you had no regrets
    There’s a bond between us
    That hasn’t been broken yet
    And the feelings between us
    Will never disappear
How can you be far away
    When your spirit’s here
    You’re still my man …

And Whitney Houston brought out those words into hearing with a beautiful voice. Singing words that go something like this … (Singing)

Today’s topic: Whitney Houston & Michael Jackson

It is said that Whitney H. and Michael J. never made a record together. Michael Jackson wanted Whitney to record his duet, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" in the 80's. Whitney was burning up the charts and her first album was hot. It is said that Whitney's record label, Arista, would not take Michael's offer. They were afraid that Whitney would be overexposed. Sounds like a poor excuse to me. Both Whitney and Michael were super. Why would there be a problem? Whitney H. was new and that would not have been a good excuse either.

Whitney was already known when she sang with Jermaine Jackson. The world was just beginning to know Whitney during that time. People love to hear great singers together whether they are new or not. As a matter of fact, I remember hearing Jermaine J. And Whitney H. sing two songs together. They were, If You Say My Eyes are Beautiful, and Nobody Loves Me Like You Do. Whitney Houston even sang with Teddy Pendergrass.

Michael was the king of pop and Whitney was rising high. Well, Whitney went on singing down through the years and never made a record with Michael. Whitney and Michael should have made a record together.

    Singing Intro)
    Whitney had love
    Whitney had love
And she knew how to give

    Had love for her fans
    Had love for her man
    She believed in family

Sometimes Whitney was the preacher on stage.
    She would say something like
Oh yea! Now you see me.
    Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!
    Oh yea!
Cause you know I got love.
Don’t care what you say now.

Whitney Houston loved herself some church. She would be in the middle of talking about something and break out with it. Those weren’t Whitney Houston’s words in the song, but that’s how she would do. I love what Whitney did. It makes me wonder if she really wanted to be a preacher. I believe she needed to be one because she would act as if she were one on stage. I believe Whitney Houston had more than the gift of singing.

Whitney Houston had love for people. She looked as if she gave the best hugs. Whitney loved her family, and just watching her on television made me feel like she was my family. She looked like she was somebody’s big sister or aunt. Whitney had it all in her personality.

Whenever I talk or sing about Whitney Houston, I feel something. Maybe it’s just her Angel. I know there’s a listening God above. He pays attention to our hearts, and he knows everything. We are all one spirit family. We are all in the body of Christ from my understanding of 1 Corinthians 12:13. Maybe that’s what we feel from those that have left us in Christ. We hope that loved ones are in Christ, but I believe that God has a way of letting us know. The Comforter is with us.

This world has gotten crazier since Whitney Houston has been gone. Music is not as much to me since she’s been gone. Whitney’s music is in us. Memories of her are in his. We need to share them and uplift one another.
