New Year's Dispatch
Happy New Year from Hannah and the Wholehearted team. New episodes coming in the new year, we promise.
RERUN: Love is a Two Player Game ft. Gibi ASMR
A reshare of a gem from season one of Wholehearted— from the age-old gamer boy/attention-starved girlfriend trope, to relationships heavily rooted in shared nerd culture, and partnerships where nerdiness pays the bills— like in the case of Gibi ASMR and her husband— how important is it that the fantasy realms you wholeheartedly adore are taken seriously by your partner? And how important is it for them to experience those worlds with you?
The Phantom of My Middle School Mind
For better or for worse, The Phantom of the Opera is a foundational text of Hannah’s very existence. In this episode, she investigates the psychological impact of Phantom on fans too young to love it with even an ounce of irony.
Mermaid Aziza
Mermaids, with their long, luscious hair, iridescent tails, and fabled siren song, have captured the imaginations of humankind for hundreds of years. And although they’re normally highly elusive and mysterious, today we are talking with a real life mermaid— Mermaid Aziza, also known as Danielle Houston.
Miss A is Dead
Megan Elk was known throughout Cleveland for her larger-than-life cabaret performances as Miss Alexandra Huntington, a dame who loved singing songs about men who had wronged her. But now that she's been truly unlucky in love... she had to kill Miss A off. A story about queerness, bisexual erasure, discovering and rediscovering identity through trauma, and good ol' fashioned betrayal. The intrigue! Life is nothing if not a performance.
Jada Taylor of Mixd Fashion
Jada Taylor, the CEO and designer behind the Cleveland-based line Mixd Fashion, is only 24 years old and has already had an incredible career as an on-set clothing tailor for big-budget Hollywood movies. But her latest venture— and the project she believes in most wholeheartedly— is her very own clothing line, and she’s here to tell us all about it.

Check out this week's sermon from Pastor Austin on the book of 1 Kings titled,
"1 Kings | Wholehearted".
"God makes it abundantly clear that He will not accept halfhearted worship. He will not tolerate a life half-devoted to Him. The true Christian cannot slack successfully in our walk with Jesus."
You can also find audio from our past sermons on our website, Citylightlincoln.org, and on the Citylight Lincoln Church App.
Wholeheartedness - Joshua 14
Following God wholeheartedly sounds like a worthy aspiration, but how do we do it. What does it mean to follow God with our whole heart? Join us as we look at the story of Caleb from Joshua 14 and learn from his example.

We Live for Drama
In the often-boring world of adulthood, there are few things that bring such primal joy as a good old-fashioned dose of drama. Whether it be reality TV, a confrontational text conversation, or eavesdropping on fighting strangers in public, why is it that gossip, rumors, and bad decisions give us so much life?
Why Do We Do That?: Expressive Worship | Phil Chapman | 20/10/19 | Market Harborough
God created us to be an expressive people and in this lively all-age gathering we consider the word ‘praise’ as found in the Psalms. We discover that by looking at the original Hebrew words used for ‘praise’ brings freedom to expressively worship God in a way that is wholehearted, sincere and in line with scripture.

Closed Heavens Part 2
Is God even listening?
Sometimes it feels as if we’re having a one-way conversation with God; we speak only to wait and wait and wait – straining in an effort to identify even a whisper in response. We begin to question if we’re doing something wrong, lacking faith, or even if God has forsaken us. The truth is, God is NOT lacking; yet, just as we have an expectancy from God, He has an expectancy for us. Our relationship with Christ requires a foundation of selflessness, obedience, and wholehearted pursuit. It’s time that we evaluate our actions and the potential effect we have in hindering the voice of God.
Check out the 25+ reasons why prayers aren’t answered in the “Closed Heavens” series by Pastor Jerry Laudermilk.
