Empowered by Experiences with Becky and Jess

Empowered by Experiences with Becky and Jess
In part two of this episode, Sarah, Jess, and Becky continue their conversation about their current experiences as single women. They talk about their thoughts on the Barbie movie, women they admire, and how to handle inappropriate messages from someone who has a partner. The best part of this two part episode is the advice at the end and discussing the most empowering thing each woman has done!

We do often use examples of men/women but believe our discussion applies to everyone, we can only speak on our own experiences. Everyone can relate to wanting the same effort that you give when it comes to relationships.

Vidushi Yadav on deep communication in the social media era, what real representation looks like, & how to lead with love

Vidushi Yadav on deep communication in the social media era, what real representation looks like, & how to lead with love

For Episode 4 of The Heart Gallery Podcast, Rebeka Ryvola de Kremer talks to "artivist" Vidushi Yadav. Vidushi’s work revolves around gender justice, South Asian identity, access & right-based content. She is a communication & design consultant for multiple women rights, humanitarian & development organizations world-wide. Through her work she attempts to investigate gaze, representation, able-ism, gender binary, privilege & colonialism via image making. Listen to hear critical lessons & perspectives from Vidushi Yadav.

Visit The Heart Gallery's visual accompaniment for this podcast episode here (podcast transcript also available here).

HW from Vidushi: "Ask questions. And do not accept what is given to you, or what is considered the default of life. Ask, “why do I have to be like this” if something doesn't feel right. Examine where answers are coming from & look beyond the answers which are readily available. For example, there are so many things that we are told as women, like, “this is how you should be, this is how you should behave, this is what you shouldn't do, that's what you should do”. If you start asking questions, like, “why is it important for me to do this", or "what is stopping me to do that”… you can get closer & closer to what feels authentic to you."

Newfound Reasons to Celebrate Valentines Day

Newfound Reasons to Celebrate Valentines Day

Its a solo episode on a (traditionally) couples holiday!

Sarah is on her own for this one, talking about love and making you feel validated regardless of your relationship status.  As a single gal for a few years now, she has some advice that will help you get through this Valentines Day if you're celebrating or staying cynical! She also has a comment for anyone trying to claim she is hating on men during this podcast (if you don't exhibit the behavior, we aren't talking to you bro!)

Love comes in many different forms, and recognizing that you can be happy and single or unhappy and in a relationship makes us realize that your relationship status does not define you or the amount of love you have in your life.

Kicking off the new year with Sarah is Dr Erin Woolridge, ND.  They cover A LOT. Starting off the new year often comes with setting personal, work-related, and activity goals, but we can't begin to think about those things if we are facing any kind of health symptoms.  Erin discusses where to begin, how to handle contradicting social media posts on what to eat and not eat, and how your hormones can be affected by what you consume. A common topic these days, they talk about coming off birth control and how our cycles affect how we feel.

Erin explains how naturopathic medicine focuses more on the root cause of your symptoms than what a traditional doctors visit may do.
