Singing Jailbirds - The Book of Acts

Singing Jailbirds - The Book of Acts

In this Bible Story, Paul and Silas are beaten brutally and thrown into prison for casting a demon out of a little girl. As they dwell in the dark and cold chamber, they sing to the Lord, and a mighty earthquake and they escape. This story is inspired by Acts 16. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.

Today's Bible verse is Acts 16:25 from the King James Version.

Episode 232: As Paul, Luke, Silas, and Timothy were traveling through Thyatira, they were being followed around by a demon-possessed slave woman. The woman kept yelling at the crowd that these people were God’s servants and they will tell them how to be saved. Annoyed beyond the point of tolerance, Paul commanded the evil spirit to come out of the woman. The slave woman’s owners were not pleased. They beat Paul and took him and Silas to court where they were beaten yet again and thrown deep into prison. Around midnight as Paul and Silas were singing psalms to God, an earthquake shook the prison, opening the gates of all the prisoners. The Jailer, thinking that the prisoners had escaped, was about to fall on his sword when Paul and Silas spoke up.

Disciplining your children, scary movies and giving God all our money

I, me, Victoria is rolling solo this episode and discusses the struggles she is currently having with her older child. She opens up about how it's so hard to find patience when she feels like she's being abused by a 4 year old. LOL. Laughing so I don't cry guys. Anyway, I still don't believe in the traditional beat your kid with the belt bull-shit and I explain why that doesn't make sense to me.

Saw a scary movie trailer on Hulu the other day and I legit had to cover my eyes and was reminded that I used to LOVE watching the exorcist when I was like 10, but WHYYYYY?? I don't get it. How was I not freaked the fuck out like I am now? Am I the only one??

Soooo we gave God a big chunk of our income and now I'm all like it's fine, we're fine, everything is fine. IYKYK. Anyway..... God is totally going to show up, right God? RIGHT???

BUILDERS and BREAKERS EP11 - LLWW.

BUILDERS and BREAKERS EP11 - LLWW.

In this podcast episode, I discuss my leadership style and my unique perspective on human beings. I talk about two types of leaders: builders and breakers, and emphasize the importance of emulating builders and learning from breakers. My viewpoint on human beings is that they are like stocks, with value that can go up or down. I encourage listeners to surround themselves with people whose stock is going up and to invest in those relationships. My leadership style is focused on surrounding myself with people who are on an upward trajectory and can help me grow.

137 // Banish Overwhelm and Yelling With A Simple Family Government with Katie Keene

Have you wondered how some families seem like they have it all together?

Have you longed to have the unity and closeness they seem to have?

Do you want to stop yelling and create a life of love and team spirit?

Today we will dive into a simple system you can implement in your home, that will get you much closer to the peace and unity that you dream of.

A family government is a parenting and motherhood hack that every Christian homeschooling family ought to have. It helps a family build a safety net around their interactions, increases communication to a new level, and allows parents to feel safe in their discipline procedures because nothing is done out of negative emotion anymore.

Grab a notebook and pen, you will want to jot down this system so you can get it set up own your own home.

129 // How To Stop Yelling- 3 Ways To STOP OVERWHELM and Create Peace In Your Home and Heart

Would you like to stop yelling and feeling out of control? Want the overwhelm to stop?

We have all yelled at some point. It feels so terrible. Later we feel disappointed in ourselves, embarrassed, and maybe even ashamed.

We don't always know WHAT to do to heal the wound yelling creates, or how to prevent it from happening again. But in our deepest hearts we don't want to do it again.

Today I discuss 3 ways that you can stop yelling, and change the entire tone of your home environment. You CAN create a place that feels SAFE for you as the parent, SAFE from your triggers and SAFE to be the parent you want to be. And then your family starts to feel safe too.

Are you ready to start LOVING the peace you feel inside? The peace you bring to your home? To your homeschool? To your marriage and motherhood?

Then grab your notebook and pen, a hot cup of goodness, and let's dig into a holistic way of BRINGING HOME SOME PEACE! <3

So, this episode is happening THIS WEEK because I want you to block off time NOW in that gorgeous planner to:

-soak in the Motherhood moments because they are fleeting

    -enjoy BEING. Not just doing.
-focus on how mindset can shift our joy significantly, even when things aren't perfect

Self care is not selfish, it makes life BETTER for everyone around you which is a bonus! I was wisely counseled once, that if I wanted to know the state of my self care and mental health... just ask my hubby and kids because they would know. LOL! So... its really a benefit to everyone else too, when we care for ourselves!

Every mom needs to hear this, it's always a good reminder, no matter how many times we have overcome burnout, overwhelm, and anxiety before. It's always a temptation to get overcommitted and start putting ourselves last, especially during the holiday season.

Hugh Hewitt: Biden Chastises the Electorate

Hugh Hewitt: Biden Chastises the Electorate

The president last week was in Philadelphia at a gathering of the AFL-CIO where he said: “I don’t want to hear any more of these lies about reckless spending. We’re changing people’s lives!”

Presidents rarely, even in front of friendly audiences, raise their voice as to seem to be yelling at voters. This clip will rank alongside other memorable ones with Howard Dean’s scream—John Kerry’s “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it,” and Barack Obama’s promise about keeping your doctor and your health-care plan if you liked them.

The main enemy today is inflation — ravaging the finances of every American family. Every single item in a grocery store gets there by truck or van. Most are wrapped or contained in plastic of some sort. Prices for fuel — whether gasoline or diesel — plastic and fertilizer are soaring—and therefore everything in that store is as well.

The president refuses do anything substantive about it—short of raising his own voice.

Our nation needs a course correction.

    November can’t come soon enough.

Episode 13: Fluoride, Backseat Drivers and Roundabouts

Hey hello hi there. Episode 13 comes with a lot of... lets face it.. Ashley yelling. Amanda talks about her relaxing weekends that always turn into not relaxing weekends, and how first year shots suck (she might have cried more than Levi did)! Ashley talks about things all end of the year, packing her classroom, and end of the year sadness. You won't guess who bought Sylvester Stallone's Mansion in Amanda's Spill the Tea while Ashley's Spill the Tea is more on the serious side (trigger warning: Miscarriage). Go Off's for this week include backseat drivers (Just DON'T BE ONE) and roundabouts, since apparently not a single one of us knows how to use them.. Amanda, again, talks about not being to relax on the weekends in Why am I Like This (personal problem?), while Ashley talks about waking early only to do all of the things she needs to do besides getting ready while ultimately maker her even more late! Our topic for this week is First World Problems and let me tell you.. we have A LOT of them! Because my Amazon package said it was supposed to be here by 1:00 and it didn't get here until 2:15 and Starbucks was out of Sweet Cream Cold Foam and WE JUST CAN'T DEAL. Here is what we are liking this week: POPfit Leggings and Dinnerly!
