#24 Kundalini Yoga, Breath of Fire, Inner Wisdom and Yogi Bhajan with Dr Haridass Kaur

#24 Kundalini Yoga, Breath of Fire, Inner Wisdom and Yogi Bhajan with Dr Haridass Kaur

Today our guest is Dr Haridass Kaur, who is Kundalini Lead Teacher Trainer and Mentor, Infinite Goddess Training Creator, Entrepreneur and Explorer of Creating Happiness.

In this episode Haridass talks about her own journey into the world of Kundalini yoga, teaches us the Breath of Fire - explains its benefits, when and how to do it.

She touches upon the inner wisdom, how to access it and shares how she draws deep inspiration from Yogi Bhajan teachings. We also discuss the differences between the “guru vs. non-guru path”, when it comes to choosing the direction of a spiritual journey.

My favourite part of the interview is her answer to my question: “If I were to ask you to give an advice to a 7-year old, what would you say?” She responded… brilliantly! Listen for yourself.

Currently I am on a journey that I call #yanayear or in other words “a sabbatical”. Basically, I gave most of my belongs and money away to people who needed it, had an honest conversation with my husband and leaped into the unknown with no plans, no structure and no expectations in the midst of the pandemic… If you want to learn more about my journey (and why I did it) and follow my adventures, let’s connect on Instagram or Facebook. I share there openly all the craziest, inspirational and beautiful moments!

Embracing Community for a Radiant Life & Business

Embracing Community for a Radiant Life & Business

    Watch on Youtube.

    Have you ever experienced this…?

    • Feeling envy & competitiveness with other women
    • Feeling jealousy & possessiveness of your partner - especially around other women

    Many women have.

It’s part of the sisterhood wound — and it’s so, so real.

For a lot of human history, women had to fight one another to keep our means of survival around, our baby daddy.

In some cultures, where men had multiple wives, there was also a hierarchy that created competition among women for resources.

Ultimately, this is a reflection on our own self-trust, our own self-love…

…and how much we fill our own selves up versus seeking validation & safety from outside sources.

Obviously, there are people that are in their own trauma & drama that you may need to not have in your life because they will drain you.

But I have found again & again that once you set your standard of how you treat yourself - how you expect other people to treat you - and how easily you will walk away from situations that you are unwilling to fuck with…

…the less you find yourself even coming into contact with people who are jealous of you & want to tear you down or compete with you.

When you move in the world from a deep knowing that you have enough and you want the best for people, there is so much more grace in life.

You will find people reacting to you differently.

If our current society and culture in most of the world, men have better examples of healthy competition, where examples for women tend to lean in the toxic competition direction

Women are wired for community, so our potential is limitless when we come together.

    You have undoubtedly experienced this…

When someone you love hits a big goal & has a big win & you feel such joy for them

If that is your base point, everything changes.

This is wiring you for abundance.

And it’s also wiring you for a joyful life.

I see this in clients too in regards to building a team.

If they have a hard time with sisterhood or fellowship, they have a hard time allowing themselves to be supported.

This makes a lot of sense!

If your baseline is competition then you will not assume that the people you hire want the best for you.

You will have more transactional relationships. It will be tit-for-tat instead of everyone rising together.

    But.

Humans have evolved to be IN COMMUNITY.

And our brains are wired to care about what those around us think.

So you do need to be very intentional with who you surround yourself with.

You need to be very intentional with who you’re WITNESSED by.

Because everyday in the media we already hear about economic instability, how so many people are barely getting by, see business owners bragging about hustling & being busy & working nonstop.

But imagine what can happen if you’re forming deep connections with other women who are building businesses that are highly profitable.

    Celebrating hit income goals.

Where you’re encouraged to work LESS & only in your zone of genius.

Where we know that our internal work massively impacts our external reality & our businesses are a work of art.

All of this is waiting for you. Right now.

Imagine having a group of people that you can rely on for inspiration, guidance, and emotional support.

Imagine having women you can DM & call up whenever you’re having a rough day or a business question pops up…

As Visionary CEOs we can’t really bring that shit to our teams!

You really don’t want to be integrating your drama with the people you employ…

This leads so many female entrepreneurs I know to feel SO LONELY!

They can’t go to their family or friends because they aren’t entrepreneurs. They don’t get it.

I remember when I started my business, even up to a couple years ago, when I would dump on my husband about a shitty client or a scary conversation I had to have, he’d respond with “Well why don’t you just quit & do something else? You don’t need to do this business.”

He didn’t get it. He couldn’t see what I was building.

(Now he is insanely supportive - he finally sees the aftermath of the build)

Most of the time your family & friends aren’t entrepreneurs & they don’t get it.

They may not even know what the fuck you sell on the internet.

And your team can’t be that support system for you. They absolutely support you and your business in running & growing and thriving.

    But they aren’t your coach.

They often don’t have the next-level mindset you need to leap to your next goal.

And it’s often wildly inappropriate & damaging to talk with them about your fears about your business’ success…

You instead need people to hold you in the drama and the celebrations & totally understand. They understand that you can double or quadruple your income in the next few months. They may have even done it themselves.

This is exactly what the Alchemical Business Intensive will give you.

In our last round, every single woman there said she was surprised at how much this community aspect of this container helped her.

“2021 is the year of the mastermind”

If you joined me for the Your Best Year Yet event in December you heard Astrologer Donna Woodwell drop this wisdom. And I took it very seriously.

That’s why I launched the Alchemical Business Intensive at the beginning of 2021. People need it now. YOU need it now.

So - it’s time to meet your new support system.

The womxn that will be in the emotional trenches with you over 6 months of focused action & change in your business (and in yourself).

So I want to invite you into the Alchemical Business Intensive.

We start in October & it’s a very small group container.

Come summer your business can be supporting YOU.

And you will be supported by us as well.

Kundalini Yoga And The Aquarian Age

Kundalini Yoga And The Aquarian Age

We are in the Aquarian Age!  Kundalini Yoga is a perfect practice for these times. Kundalini Yoga raises your awareness and elevates your consciousness.  Jill discusses the ten bodies we all possess that are activated when one practices Kundalini Yoga.

Yogi Bhajan, brought Kundalini Yoga to the U.S. in 1969,  and it flourished during the 1970's through the present.  It is called the "Yoga of Awareness." According to Yogi Bhajan, the Aquarian Age, truly commenced in 1992.  We are in the "Saturn Return" cycle of 1992.

Jill discusses various forms of yoga including:
Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga yin yoga, meridian yoga, vinyasa, restorative, prenatal yoga when I was pregnant, power yoga, hot yoga, Kriya Yoga, bhakti yoga,  Tantra, yoga, Yantra yoga, Shakti yoga, Laya yoga, Japa yoga and Karma yoga.

Jill explains the astrological alignments that have initiated the Aquarian Age, starting with the Uranus/Pluto conjunction of 1966, the Harmonic Convergence of 1987, and more.

Jill shares three Kundalini Yoga mantras:   "ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO"
translation:  "I bow to the Creative Wisdom, I bow to the Divine Teacher within."

"Sat Nam":  translation:  "Truth is my Identity."

"Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru, Wahe Guru, Wahe Jio"
translation:  "Wow! God is Great!- Indescribably great is God's infinite, ultimate wisdom."

#40 Calling in what you want to manifest in 2020

#40 Calling in what you want to manifest in 2020

It may cliche to make intentions for the new year, but it can be a really powerful practice when you have the right intention behind it. In this episode, I talk about why 2020 is going to be a year of love and miracles, how committing to taking an action every day for a specific duration is so powerful, and some of the rituals and practices that I do to call in what I'm manifesting for the coming year. If you listen to this episode after the new year, don't worry, these tools can be used on any day. I'm just sharing them now because the collective energy behind New Years intentions is so strong.

Happy New Year—it's going to be one of transformation, love and miracles, so get ready for the ride!

    #35 The Power of Silence

    #35 The Power of Silence

In this final episode of the series on conscious communication, we delve into the power of silence. Connecting to silence, stillness, neutrality in your communications and your life as a while is an effective way to fully embody your true nature. I find that practicing silence is a way for me to find Oneness, Source, God. By recognizing the God within ourselves and the God within everyone, everything, we find serenity and peace regardless of what's happening. Through prayer, meditation and faith, we can connect to the silence of the unknown within ourselves—and therefore, securely feeling that there is nothing to fear.  When we connect to stillness, we can feel the exact trajectory of spiritual evolution that we were meant to take. Connect to silence daily and see what happens!

    #33 Words Matter

    #33 Words Matter

How conscious is your communication? Words have a vibrations and energy. Each word is wrapped up and delivered in a "pranic unit"—a package of energy that can uplift or lower the energy of those involved in the communication. How often do we say words with intention to elevate others and the world? More often than not, we get so caught up in our own thoughts that words just come out without much thought or thought to the content, intent, and effect of our words.

After an enlightening week of level 2 Kundalini Teacher Training with Dr. Haridass Khalsa on conscious communication, I was inspired to create a series of episodes on the topic. In the series, I'll share a few topics that came up for me in the immersion and my experience with deeply observing my own communications in relationships, professional situations and even here on the podcast. This episode is the first in the series and will dive into how our words matter.

#28 What are you meant to create?

#28 What are you meant to create?

Do you feel called to create something, but have some story that you've told yourself about why you can't? There are many excuses to not do something, but are you willing to look at why you're resistant? We all have some aspect of ourselves that we hide—that part of us that we are ashamed of or we don't think is good enough to show to the world. In this episode, I share an aspect of my shadow that I connected with in order to have the energy and confidence to create something new!

I have always been creative, but I haven't painted in years. I recently got a message from spirit that I'm meant to start a new project that would require that I bring the artist in me (and all of my art supplies) out of the closet. I share my experience with how I connected with this shadow aspect of myself, how I supported her to feel worthy, and how I took the leap into starting this new project. We are all creators—that's part of being human. Let yourself do that thing you've been putting off and see how your spirit evolves!

    #25 Embracing the Teacher Within

    #25 Embracing the Teacher Within

Everyone of us is a teacher in one way or another. Some of us teach in a formal way— in classrooms, studios, books, online, and over the airwaves. But no matter what our career,  in every interaction we have the opportunity to teach by example. Our actions speak louder than words. To me, a teacher is a leader, and everyone has some way in which they can lead. How do you want to show up as a leader in the world?

Yogi Bhajan famously said that he came to the west, not to acquire students, but to make teachers. He has many quotes about being a teacher and this is one of my favorites: "It doesn't matter how much I teach you or how much you learn. The role of the teacher is to elevate another."

In this episode, I contemplate how I teach and lead in the world, and encourage you to consider how can we elevate one another, no matter who the other person is to us.

    #24 Learning through experience

    #24 Learning through experience

We all learn differently. Many learn through books, classes, workshops, but we ALL learn through experience. In this episode, I talk about the importance of not just reading and taking in information, but having an experience of our spiritual journey. My love of yoga classes, kundalini kris, workshops, retreats and being in community has empowered me to feel things I never would on my own. I believe spiritual evolution involves learning by doing and then teaching others by sharing your experience. I recently had a profound experience during a 2.5-hour chanting session in celebration of Yogi Bhajan's birthday. I talk about that experience and how it gave me the insight that we all have the wisdom of Source within us, we just have to uncover it through daily practice, expansive experiences, and connection. Listen deeply to your inner wisdom, and reveal the knowing within.

I mentioned a few things in this episode that you might want to dive deeper into:

    #22 Be the Lighthouse

    #22 Be the Lighthouse

Be the lighthouse. You've probably heard this beautiful adage that Yogi Bhajan encouraged us all to embody. How can we be a neutral, radiant, vital being that shines our light for others to know you are a source of comfort, connection, safety without forcing ourselves to be something we're not. You can be yourSelf! The way I've connected with my Self is through a disciplined daily practice where I connect to my higher Self, Source and my own infinity. With that practice as my foundation, I can go out into the world and shine my light. We don't have to go around lecturing, telling people what to do, "saving" people. All we have to do is be the Light and people will remember and come to us when they need help. It's that simple. In this episode, I talk about my experience with this, and even how I get to bring it into my work life.

#21 Eight ways to cultivate Self Love in your life

It may be cliche to talk about self love. Everyone talks about it, but how do you really cultivate it? I've been on a journey towards self love for my whole life, really. But for the last 5 years, I've been cultivating it in an intentional way. #17 Deathlessness and rebirth

Have you been feeling a little... ready for change? The energies in the Cosmos right now are powerful, intense, and might be provoking some discomfort and angst. In this episode, I discuss the opportunity we have for rebirth—now, during these potent energies—and every day. We are being supported to release all that does not serve us and step fully into our powerful, true Selves. It takes courage, vulnerability, discipline, and grit. But I believe we all have the capacity for loving ourselves and others and fully embodying the light within by getting really honest with ourselves and surrendering those habits, thought forms, and behaviors that aren't serving us. Yes, I mean enlightenment. Are you ready to release and surrender so you have more space for all of that light? Well, I am! I share some tools and recent teachings that have really inspired me in this process.

#15 My experience at 3HO Summer Solstice

#15 My experience at 3HO Summer Solstice

For the last 50 years, the kundalini yoga community comes together in the high desert north of Santa Fe, New Mexico to meditate, release, and activate during the summer solstice. Although I had just finished my teacher training at Yoga West in LA a few weeks previous and really wanted to stay home, resting from all of the travel, I felt called to go. In this episode, I describe my experience there and how I processed some of what occurred. It was a week of intense, uncomfortable, and profound spiritual growth. Hopefully, this episode will inspire you to step outside your comfort zone in the name of a spiritual experience, whatever that may look like for you.

Things/people I mentioned in the episode:

#14 Summer Solstice: What's all the hubbub around it?

You may have heard about the summer solstice and the energy it brings for those of us on the spiritual up-leveling journey. But what does it really mean? In this episode, I talk about the teachings I've been given about the solstice, my own interpretation of that energy, and how you can connect with it, no matter what stage of the journey you're on. I also share some of my interpretations about what's happening on the planet right now.

Be sure to listen to the bonus episode which contains a meditation and activation to integrate the energy we are receiving during the solstice portal.

In the episode, I mention 3HO's Summer Solstice celebration in New Mexico.
