The key is recognizing that a desire for a strong relationship often outweighs the fear of vulnerability. By acknowledging and addressing wounds instead of using passive aggression, both parties can create a safe and supportive environment for emotional growth. Ultimately, this approach leads to a more authentic and meaningful connection between individuals.

    • Building a strong emotional connection through vulnerabilityIn a healthy relationship, partners support each other's healing and don't exploit vulnerabilities. Vulnerability takes courage and is essential for building a strong emotional connection, but it's not one-sided - both partners must encourage and embrace it.

      A meaningful relationship is about holding space for each other's vulnerabilities, not exploiting them. In a healthy relationship, your partner supports you in healing your own wounds, rather than using them against you. To determine if you have an amazing relationship, you need to reveal your own vulnerabilities and see how your partner responds. This requires courage and vulnerability on your part, and it's essential to build a strong emotional connection. However, it's not just about being vulnerable yourself, but also encouraging your partner to do the same. If your partner refuses to open up, it may be a sign of a deeper issue in the relationship. Embracing vulnerability and creating a safe space for each other is crucial for building a strong, loving, and supportive partnership.

    For today's guided meditation, I will introduce you to a meditation practice known as Metta. It is the Pali word most often translated as “loving kindness”. Metta is one of the ten paramis (or virtues) of the Theravadan tradition of Buddhism, and the first of the Four Sublime States (or Brahmaviharas), which also include compassion, empathetic joy and equanimity.

    The practice of Metta meditation provides wonderful support to your other awareness practices.

    Loving-kindness meditation comes down to your intention – which is to wish ourselves and others happiness and peace.

    May we be happy. May we be well. May we be safe. May we be at peace and at ease in the world.
