    Podcast Summary

    • Believe in Your Dreams and PotentialBelieve in your dreams despite fear, doubt, or external pressures. Keep pushing forward and take personal responsibility for achieving them.

The power to achieve your dreams and live up to your potential lies within you. It's easy to make excuses and give up on our goals due to fear, doubt, or external pressures. But, as the speaker emphasizes, don't let negative thoughts or hardships deter you from your vision of the future. Keep pushing forward, even when faced with adversity. Remember, the fulfillment of your dreams is a personal responsibility, and only you have the power to make them a reality. Don't let others' opinions or expectations hold you back. Keep dreaming, no matter how unrealistic it may seem, and never give up on your aspirations. Greatness is within your reach, and it's up to you to claim it.

    • Believe in Yourself to Overcome ObstaclesBelieve in yourself to push through challenges, affirm your worth, and become stronger and more resilient.

No matter what obstacles come your way, you have the power to overcome them and succeed. It won't be easy, and it may take every ounce of energy you have, but your determination and belief in yourself will help you push through. Each challenge you face will only make you stronger and more resilient. It's important to affirm your worth and capabilities, and not let negative voices bring you down. Remember, you are tougher than any problem you encounter, and each moment is an opportunity to turn things around. Keep pushing forward, and believe in yourself, even in the face of rejection or failure. You have the power to make it through, and each step you take brings you closer to victory.

    • Reject negativity and toxic thoughtsSpeak back to negative voices, trust yourself, and believe in your ability to overcome challenges and live your dreams

It's important to actively reject negativity and toxic thoughts, rather than ignoring them. This means speaking back to those voices and refuting their lies. You have the power to overcome challenges and live your dreams, no matter what has happened in the past. You may not have time to hesitate or doubt yourself, so trust yourself and take action. Those who are living their dreams are relentless, creative, and believe in themselves. They know that hard times are inevitable, but they keep pushing forward with the mindset of "I'm the one." When you're uncommon and pursue your dreams, be prepared for criticism and opposition. But don't let that stop you – stay focused on your vision and believe that you can make it a reality.

    • Stay true to yourself and ignore the hatersIgnore the critics and stay committed to your vision, faith in your abilities will lead to success and a world-class life.

Embracing your uniqueness and staying true to yourself, despite the criticism and opposition, is key to achieving success and living a world-class life. When you're uncommon, people may not understand you and may try to bring you down. But it's important to ignore the haters, focus on your goals, and have faith in your abilities. Don't let the fear of what others think hold you back from making history. Remember, everyone has an opinion, but it's your life to live. Stay committed to your vision, and don't let doubt or external voices deter you from your path. In the end, the only opinion that matters is your own.

    • Believe in your inner power to change your circumstancesFocus on inner power, commit to change, refuse to give up, keep pushing through hardships, and never deny your dreams

Our circumstances do not define us or limit our potential. Instead of focusing on our current situation or resources, we should tap into our inner power to change it. Life is a reflection of our consciousness and the choices we make. It's natural to face adversity and challenges, but we must remain committed and refuse to give up. Our dreams and goals are within reach if we're willing to push through the hardships and keep going, no matter how difficult it may seem. The universe responds to those who refuse to be denied, so keep challenging yourself and never give up on your dreams.

248 || How to Pursue a Dream That You Might Never See Finished || Angie Weszely

248 || How to Pursue a Dream That You Might Never See Finished || Angie Weszely

    Find show notes here.

Does it ever feel like you got the enormous dream?

In June 2022, the nationwide conversation about abortion rose to the top again after the U.S. Supreme Court decided the Dobbs v. Jackson case and overturned Roe v. Wade after decades of legalized abortion in the U.S.

It was long before that, though, when today’s guest Angie Weszely began to understand how the politicized nature of the abortion discussion was doing more harm than good to everyone involved.

When Angie was first a Devoted Dreamers guest more than five years ago (back in season two, episode 31), she told her story about co-founding ProGrace and the vision of equipping Christians with a third Kingdom way to think, talk, and engage about abortion that values the women and child equally.

I invited Angie to return not only because the abortion conversation is so timely (and the work of ProGrace is so vital) but also because she’s on a long-haul journey to a God-shaped dream and I suspect you might be feeling some of this too: Your dream feels enormous. It’s difficult to see the finish line. Even the thought of how to begin is intimidating.

In this episode, Angie and I are talking about:

    • The only way to hold an audacious dream that you may never see come to fruition
    • What it looks like to believe God FOR your dream, and
    • How to release the outcome and timing to the Lord.

I hope you see in Angie a perseverance and open-handedness in how deeply she is committed to the dream but also how loosely she must hold it. And I hope it brings you encouragement.

259 || How to Pursue a Dream When You Can't See the Full Picture || Rachel Baker

    Find show notes here.

What should you do when it feels like you don’t have what it takes to follow your dream?

Whether it’s time, energy, know-how, or all of the above, many of us struggle with feeling like we don’t have enough to accomplish the dream that God has given us.

Rachel Baker knows what it’s like to grapple with these questions. She’s the author of Deconstructed, a bible study guide for anyone who feels overwhelmed or ill-equipped to study the Word of God. She’s also a pastor’s wife and the director of women’s ministries at their home church in Northern Nevada.  She has a passion for spiritual formation and is currently seeking a master’s degree in apologetics from Houston Theological Seminary.

With everything on her plate, it can feel overwhelming, yet Rachel is confident that God has placed a calling on her life to support other women in their study of God’s Word and to grow in confidence that His hand upon their lives.

Previously, Rachel shared in episode 223 The Best Way to Get Started When You Don’t Know Where To Begin. She’s back to talk about the key things God has shown her as she’s brought her lack before Him.

In this episode, you’ll learn about:

    ·         Depending on God for all that you feel you lack,

    ·         Keeping your dream surrendered to God so He can continue to shape it and grow it, and

    ·         Leaning into God to define success for each season of your dream.
