The intersection of traditional and digital media continues to evolve. Gary Vaynerchuk discussed his thoughts on Airbnb's new print magazine, Pineapple, as an example of the new world embracing the old. He believes that as companies like Airbnb grow and aim for broader awareness, they may find value in reaching demographics that are not as tech-savvy through traditional media channels. This convergence of new and old media strategies can help businesses connect with a wider audience and ultimately succeed in today's dynamic marketplace. Overall, the conversation highlights the importance of adaptability and innovation in media and business strategies.

    • The Thank You Economy is not disappearingDespite slower adoption, businesses focusing on customer appreciation are experiencing positive outcomes in the Thank You Economy

The Thank You Economy, a concept where businesses focus on customer appreciation and engagement, is not showing signs of self-destructing by 2015 as predicted. The adoption rate of this business model is slower than expected, and those companies that have embraced it are experiencing positive outcomes. However, not all businesses have understood the financial benefits, and it may take longer than anticipated for the Thank You Economy to become the norm. Additionally, even small gestures of care and acknowledgement from businesses continue to surprise and delight consumers. In a personal note, the speakers discussed their own experiences with social media and their children, acknowledging the challenges of finding personal images online and balancing roles within their families.

    • Raising Kids in Today's Digital Age: Timeless Principles RemainInstill self-esteem, good manners, and perseverance in kids, emphasize love and establish a strong foundation for character, as these principles remain crucial in today's fast-paced world.

Despite the ever-changing landscape of technology and social media, the core principles of good parenting remain the same. The speaker shares his experience as a parent in Manhattan, where children grow up faster than in other parts of the country, and the challenges that come with raising kids in today's digital age. He emphasizes the importance of instilling self-esteem, good manners, and perseverance in children, as these qualities may matter more than ever. The speaker also highlights the importance of love and establishing a strong foundation for children's character. He plans to deliver these timeless principles to his kids, just as he does in his business. Ultimately, the speaker believes that while the world may change, the fundamental principles of good parenting remain constant.

    • Snapchat's Payment Transfer Feature Disrupting Traditional FinanceSnapchat's Snap Cash and competition from Apple Pay, Square, and cryptocurrency are saving consumers time and disrupting traditional financial services, emphasizing the importance of payment transfers in a paperless, cashless world.

Snapchat's early entry into the payment transfer market, specifically with their feature Snap Cash, positions them well to capture the behavior of their primarily young user base. This innovation in the financial world, including cryptocurrency, Apple Pay, and Square, is saving consumers time and disrupting traditional financial services. The investor believes that this competition and innovation is beneficial for consumers, but traditional financial services may need to adapt to stay relevant. The investor's philosophy is to instill strong fundamentals and let the outside world evolve, and he sees the importance of payment transfers in a paperless, cashless world, especially when integrated into social networks.

    • Staying informed about new apps can give you a competitive edgeStay updated with latest apps and tools to streamline your day and gain a competitive edge

Time is valuable in both sports and business, and staying up-to-date with new tools and technologies, like apps, can help maximize efficiency. During the discussion, the speaker mentioned how he recently downloaded an app called Swipe and was quite fond of it. He encouraged the audience to share their most recent app downloads and to check out his show and podcast for more content. The speaker's momentary lapse in recalling the app's name served as a reminder that even the most tech-savvy among us can forget the latest trend. Therefore, staying informed and being open to new technologies can give us a competitive edge. So, keep an eye out for the latest apps and tools that can help streamline your day and give you an edge in your field.

The Most Important Question In Business

The Most Important Question In Business

Here’s the problem most people run into when they create content online: They think they have to have something to say. So many of you aren’t putting out content online because you think you need to have the perfect message, or something “valuable” to share (based on your own arbitrary opinion). And what I’m telling you is, you will get more business if you put out literally anything. If you’re an auto dealer, you could put out a 5 min video every afternoon just recapping what happened in your day. If you’re a real estate agent, you could post updates on what your opinions are about the Super Bowl teams. Get on social media and tell your truth … it’s really that simple.
