Journalling is a practice that I’ve been recommending for many years. Doing it regularly can help improve sleep, lead to better decision making and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. It has also been shown to decrease emotional stress, make it easier to turn new behaviours into long term habits, improve the quality of our relationships and, ultimately, help us lead more mindful and intentional lives.

     

    My hope is that this episode will help you understand the key benefits of journalling and some of the ways in which you can get started. The key - as with all new behaviours - is to experiment and find out what works best for you.

     

    In order to celebrate the launch of my own journal ‘The 3 Question Journal’, I outline what I consider to be the three most impactful questions that you can ask yourself every morning and every evening. Answering these questions will take less than 5 minutes, but doing so can prove transformative. Journalling helps you step outside of your life, in order to reflect on your life. And so, whatever your current goals are, the path towards them becomes clearer.

     

    Journalling is a practice that I myself do regularly and my hope is that this episode inspires you to start.

    Your Morning Routine

    Did you know that your morning routine is one of the most important factors to having a successful life? The first thing to understand is really a principle that you should adopt in every area of your life. That is the principle of intention.

    We are free-willed beings. That means we have the ability and the right to choose how we live our lives. We get to make our own decisions, think our own thoughts, and take the actions of our choosing. Your morning routine is no different.

    A proper morning routine is one that has order and structure, where you have intentions set for specific purposes, which you execute each morning and the result of that routine produces benefits in your life.

    Some of the advantages of having a good morning routine are: reducing your stress levels, give you clarity of thought, increase your learning and growth personally and spiritually and improve your overall health and wellness.

    In this podcast episode, I speak about waking up an hour earlier to establish your morning routine. But this can be done in stages. Perhaps try just 15 minutes earlier for one week and do one thing. Then increase by 10-15 minutes every week, adding another activity.

    I also highly recommend the book The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. After reading this, you may truly understand the benefits of having a solid structured morning routine.

    Then there's the 4 USA women. It's a all USA semifinals and finals since 1981. (Sloan Stephens, Coco, Venus Williams, and Maddie Keyes).

    You know the players get tired. But they keep going, not giving in. They play their best!

    Goad gave you life today. Are you going to just throw it away?

    Bury the excuses. Be willing to play your best! It's then God will shine through your weakness.
