    The Sovereign Man Podcast

“A real man is sovereign over his own life. He takes full responsibility for becoming a better man, and owns his own successes and failures. But he also understands the value of being a part of a band of brothers, the kind that have his back, and he can call at 3 AM if he’s stuck in a jail cell, because they’ll come and get him. He understands that just like a wolf pack, the strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.” — Nicky Billou Welcome to the Sovereign Man Podcast where we have the conversations that matter to you as a man, and inspire you to become the best version of yourself. You’ll learn from the best business, career, financial, relationship, and mans skills experts from around the world. The Sovereign Man Podcast is for motivated men like you who want to win in today’s world. EP54: G. Michael Hopf - Why Hard Times Create Strong Men

EP54: G. Michael Hopf - Why Hard Times Create Strong Men

“Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times.”

    - G. Michael Hopf

The above poem says it all. The rise, decline and fall of the Roman empire is testament to this cycle. When the living is easy, mankind has a tendency to give in to temptation, trading dignity for decadence. Over time, basic human principles slide until they start to reverse and what was once known to be weakness is now seen as strength and vice versa. But this cycle only exists and is able to repeat itself because, while mankind may change, the foundation of reality doesn’t.

We all know we’re headed in to hard times now, but Geoff Michael Hopf believes that it’s an opportunity. We need to embrace these hard times as part of the cycle so that strong men can bring about another era of good times.

Along these lines, Geoff offers the following advice:

    1. Develop self-reliance. Pull back from modern culture. Limit your time on social media and pornography. Focus that energy toward educating yourself, learning new skillsets. Prepare for recession by building financial literacy.
    2. The mind is everything. We are an expression of our thoughts. Strengthen your mind. Practice gratitude and find the weaknesses inside yourself.

Geoff is a best-selling author with 37 books written. His writing style includes post-apocalyptic landscapes, Wild West gunfights, and the paranormal. He also runs his own publishing company called Beyond The Fray Publishing, focussing on non-fiction paranormal, cryptid, UFO and true crime.

Ep. 41: Geoff Tomlinson - Why Men Need To Talk To Other Men

“When your fathers no longer there for you, you need other men to pick up that baton. Because you need ‘fathering’ right ‘till you die.”

Social isolation has always been a problem but the recent lockdowns have made matters worse. This can be more of a problem among men since men tend to keep their feelings to themselves. The result is that he becomes emotional and goes into his head. But when a man starts being driven by his emotions, he can become dangerous to himself and others. On the other hand, a man with healthy relationships with other men is more likely to have a sense of purpose, which keeps him out of his head and focused on being his best self.

    Ep. 37: Rob Arpa - The Word-Whore

    Ep. 37: Rob Arpa - The Word-Whore

A word-whore is the type of man who only gives his word when he knows he’ll get something in return. Always investing in himself, he damages his relationships and misses countless opportunities to build up his community and fellow man. This man doesn’t understand or trust that the more you give of yourself, the more you get back. Your strength of character is your most valuable asset.

The more we move away from basic human dignity into this ‘every man for himself’ mentality, the more complicated the world gets.

Ep. 36: Rob Arpa - Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone - Part 2

Ep. 36: Rob Arpa - Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone - Part 2

“Nothing of value ever comes from being comfortable.”

Rob Arpa owns and runs a landscaping company and day after day, he’s experienced the tremendous amount of satisfaction and joy that comes from accomplishing something that’s uncomfortable. If you’ve ever done anything close to that kind of work, for even just an hour, or you’ve watched a crew working on a property, then you know what this episode is about.

Comfort comes easily to those who sacrifice it for the sake of hard work. But without hard work, comfort just gets in the way of living and stops you from showing up the way you, your family and the world need you to.

This episode is about getting out of your comfort zone and finding your true masculinity. If you’ve already fallen into the comfort trap, then it can be hard to get out. We all waver to some degree. If you’re having trouble stepping up or you want to help other men reach their potential, then that’s what this movement is all about.
