191 - Solve the Associate Doctor Puzzle

191 - Solve the Associate Doctor Puzzle

The reason why 67% of associate doctor relationships fail is because the CEO is missing at least one key piece of the puzzle. Remarkable CEOs must get this one key relationship right to scale the business successfully. In this episode, we uncover the 6 reasons associate doctor relationships fail and where you need to focus as the CEO to make the associate doctor experience win-win-win!

    Episode Highlights

04:05 - As you are going from building into scaling, one of the criteria to transition is bringing in an associate doctor.

08:54 - There is a disconnection with doctors who don’t know how to effectively bring in an associate as well as associates who do not understand the significance of their role.

12:07 - There's a whole spectrum as far as how people are hardwired to behave and this may be amplified for chiropractors.

18:14 – You have to have a bigger Why than what you could ever accomplish on your own. The Why has to be big to be able to make room for other people with their Why to come with you.

23:50 – If you don't have a system in place for training, onboarding, developing, retaining and accountability, then it is not time to bring in an associate doctor.

25:19 - A breakdown of the 6 things you need in place to be able to effectively bring in an associate.

What Does the Bible Say About How to Keep from Falling Away #2?

What Does the Bible Say About How to Keep from Falling Away #2?

In this second and final episode, Arnie and Fred continue our discussion of how a Christian can keep from falling away. We begin by noting that one must practice self-control not only over one's physical actions but one's habits of speech. The Bible talks about those we associate with, and we look at some of those passages. Sometimes Christians get involved in frivolous controversies and we note the danger involved in this activity. It is important for the faithful disciple to pay attention to what is being taught and this is indicated in several passages the Holy Spirit supplied us through the inspired writers. This is related to rejecting false doctrine and being willing to stand up against it as the Bible clearly teaches in a number of passages that we discuss. The danger of the Christian falling away is real and ever present. Take about 30-minutes to listen in on our discussion. Have your Bible handy so you can verify what we are saying. There is a transcript provided of this Buzzsprout episode for your convenience.

Hiring An Associate Series – Part Two

Hiring An Associate Series – Part Two

So, you’ve decided you want an associate? Then, your attention should turn to the financial details necessary to make your next move. First, is your practice in the right financial position to hire an associate? If so, how much room is in your budget? Depending on the budget, you can consider starting with a part-time associate (usually 1-2 days a week) or a full-time associate (3-4 days a week). How are associates usually paid? That is the next financially motivated subject. Dr. Kuba and Bethany discuss several options for associate pay. Finally, what is the point of a contract? Bethany has long been an advocate for contracts, but Dr. Kuba has resisted. Hear both of their dialogue about associate contracts.

Hiring An Associate Series – Part One

Hiring An Associate Series – Part One

Many solo practitioners are considering an associate for the first time in their careers. A number of them indicate that they never dreamed of bringing on an associate. So, what changed their minds? It’s no doubt that the last 2.5 years has been some of the most stressful times for practice owners. While things have stabilized somewhat, the stress of practice ownership remains elevated. Many dentists yearn for relief from the practice, the ability to take a day off or to even take a vacation without worrying about the practice. Some desire to work less, finding their five- or four-day work week to simply feel harder than it used to. Others have a growing practice that is too big for one doctor. Regardless of the reason, the desire for an associate is normal. Dr. Kuba discusses her path to bringing on associates and the benefits she has experienced from having associates involved in her practice.
