    Everything Everywhere All at Once

    Everything Everywhere All at Once

The Plotaholics wind down on our month of the biggest films of 2022 with, what is probably according to the Academy, the hottest of the hot movies of the year.

Everything Everywhere All At Once Evelyn Quan (played by the amazing Michelle Yeoh) is a married, middle-aged Chinese-American immigrant with a failing business, a strained relationship with her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu), a failing marriage with her fun-loving husband Waymond (played by the LEGENDARY Ke Huy Quan).

While on their way to an IRS Audit with an "unsympathetic" agent (Jamie Lee Curtis), Evelyn is suddenly informed that she is just a small part of a multiversal war between a shadow organization and the ruthless Jobu Tupak.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

The Plotaholics' are going strong this week as we continue to explore the films that came out in 2022. This week's episode is a CRIMINALLY UNDER THE RADAR BANGER!

This week we're talking about the Nicholas Cage film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. This film, costarring Padro Pascal, shows a fictionalized (we hope not) version of Nicholas Cage living in Hollywood. His career and relationship with his daughter are following the path of his marriage...failing when he's offered $1 million dollars to appear at the birthday party of eccentric billionaire manchild Javi (Pascal). What Nicholas (and Nicky) don't realize is that the CIA is crashing the party.

Featuring Tiffany Haddish, and Ike Barrinholtz in supporting roles, this hilarious meta-action comedy will leave you laughing, and leaving you hoping that the actors' on-screen personas are actually their real-life ones.

SPOILER ALERT! If you have not watched this film yet you can stream it on Starz. Then come on back here and have a listen!

    Say Anything

    Say Anything

This week, we have a bittersweet episode for you Plotaholics. We bring The Plotaholics Podcast's first event, The Summer of Cusack, to a close. We have seen some of the best of the great John Cusack, but now we see what is among the best of the best of: the 1989 classic Say Anything...

In Say Anything, John Cusack plays Lloyd Dobler, an average student at best that's fallen in love with honor student, valedictorian, and Academic Fellowship winner Diane Court played by Ione Skye.

This Cameron Crowe-directed film contains one of the most iconic scenes in film history: Who hasn't seen John Cusack holding a boombox (very 80s) over his head at the break of dawn? What television show hasn't parodied the scene?

So get your boombox and head down to the Gas N' Sip with The Plotaholics as we offer you a storyteller's perspective on Say Anything

    High Fidelity

    High Fidelity

The Summer of Cusack has begun! We begin with a personal favorite of Shane Wilson, High Fidelity.

In this 2000 Romantic Dramedy, John Cusack stars as Rob. A new/used record store owner with a strange quandary of employees that include a pre-Shallow Hal Jack Black. Rob and his girlfriend have broken up, and Rob goes on a road of self-discovery to figure out why his relationships end badly.

The Plotaholics' Summer of Cusack couldn't have started any better than it has with this cult classic! Listen to Shane and Bryan as they dissect, laugh, entertain, and inform! This is just the beginning of a summer of awesomeness that can only be focused around 'Mr. The 80s' himself!
