    Cape Fear

It's the start of "Boy-Am-I-So-Scared-ctober!" and we're also continuing our celebration of Martin Scorsese with Cape Fear!

Two new songs: "Fourteen Years" and "Remember Your Oath"

1991's "Cape Fear," directed by Martin Scorsese, is a psychological thriller film that follows the story of a vengeful ex-convict, Max Cady, played by Robert De Niro, who terrorizes the family of his former lawyer, Sam Bowden, portrayed by Nick Nolte. As Cady's relentless pursuit escalates, Bowden must protect his loved ones from the menacing threat that Cady poses.

Cape Fear (Justice for Juliette Lewis!)

This week Zach and Sloane unwrap 1991's swampy sexual psychological thriller: Cape Fear! Inspired by Pedro Pascal's hair at the 2022 Met Gala, the duo decided to unpack the campy yet classic remake starring a scorching hot Bobby DeNiro, a sultry Jessica Lange, a normal Nick Nolte and an uber talented emancipated Juliette Lewis. Zach and Sloane stay pretty on topic during this episode and even go in depth with with some interesting movie facts. The only detour they take is when Sloane talks about the time an unhoused person used her back as a c*m rag! All that and so much more on this week's episode of Mummy Dearest!

S1E9: Outlander in the Cape Fear: The American Indian and the Revolution

"Burgwin-Wright Presents... Outlander in the Cape Fear" explores the history of Colonial North Carolina through its depiction in the book and TV series "Outlander."

On this week's episode, we look at the involvement of American Indian tribes in the Revolutionary War. In the "Outlander" story, characters have long interacted with tribes like the Cherokee and Mohawk, but what is the true history of Indigenous Americans in North Carolina before the war and how involved were they in the war that would give birth to an independent America?

This week's guest is David La Vere, a professor of history at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and author of such books as "The Tuscarora War: Indians, Settlers and the Fight for the Carolina Colonies."

    S06E06: Cold Creek Manor
Did anybody in this movie...see a movie? Today we're contemplating 2003's Cape Farm, aka Cold Creek Manor, aka 33 1/3 Short Sound Drops That Shouldn't Have Made SDB Laugh. A putative thriller in which Dorff On Golf somehow manages to haul a dead pony into a swimming pool, our "city slicker" hero tries to charm the psychotic locals with Brandy Alexanders, children have eyeteeth the size of quarters, and a cemetery is added to the kids' chore wheel, Cold Creek Manor is mostly bad -- but at least Dennis Quaid doesn't make it any worse, so while you're fleeing the godless city for Sling Blade-on-Hudson, cue up an all-new Quaid In Full. Cape Fear (1991)

    Cape Fear (1991)

Just in time for Halloween, let’s review one of the craziest horror thrillers from the ‘90’s which came out almost thirty years ago and was directed by the Master himself Martin Scorcese….as his follow-up to a little film called Goodfellas.

It stars Robert DeNiro as ex-con Max Cady who is out for revenge against the attorney Sam Bowden who failed to keep him out of jail 14 years earlier played by Nick Nolte.  Sam’s wife and teenage daughter also get put in harm’s way, they’re played by Jessica Lange and Juliette Lewis – everyone just brings it with lights-out performances as both Lewis and DeNiro were nominated for Oscars at the time.
