    EPISODE 39: TOM SCOTT

His name is on the poster. His name is on the trailer. So why isn't his music in the movie?

When Grammy Award-winning musician Tom Scott ventures into Cabana One, located at Fletch Cast Studios, you know you're in for a tapestry of musical tales that threads through the heart of Hollywood's musical scene. Our conversation with this legendary composer unwraps the enigma surrounding the "Fletch" soundtrack, and we're traveling down memory lane with a man whose legacy is as rich as the tunes he's crafted. From the echos of his father's influence to the electric phenomena of performing with the Blues Brothers, Tom's journey is a testament to the soulful symphony of life, underscored by an unwavering passion for jazz.

We're shining a spotlight on the lost original score for "Fletch," which has waited almost four decades of us to discover. His name is on the poster. His name is on the trailer. But his music is not in the movie. This episode is a front-row seat to the unfiltered craft of film score magic and the enduring soundtracks that define an era. The answers to the Tom Scott/Fletch mystery unfolds before your very ears.

We get behind the scenes & discuss Tom's time as the band leader of both The Chevy Chase Show as well as the Pat Sajak Show.

So, settle in, oil up your ball bearings, and let the blend of laughter, music, stories strike a chord while the instant kinship between Tom, Laker Jim, Jake, and Big Bob resonates right up the moment the final note has played on this episode.

Interview with Dana Wheeler Nicholson (Fletch)

Interview with Dana Wheeler Nicholson (Fletch)

Episode 38 - Interview with Dana Wheeler-Nicholson We're cracking open the nostalgia vault in our latest episode as we're joined by the talented Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, the captivating beauty from the movie 'Fletch'. Dana pulls back the curtain on her exhilarating journey in showbiz, starting from her first foray into acting, straight through to her stellar breakthrough at a tender age of 23. With a hearty serving of laughter, Dana narrates the amusing anecdotes from the 'Fletch' set, including Chevy Chase's improvisation antics and the peculiar intermissions between takes.

As we jumped between decades, Dana transports us back to her experiences during the filming of 'The Battle of Shaker Heights' for Project Greenlight, and trust us, it's a riveting tale. We also get to hear about Dana's singing aspirations, and her pursuit of this dream at the legendary NYC nightclub, Moomba. On top of that, Dana spills the beans on her time on the sets of 'Seinfeld' and 'Friday Night Lights', and offers her perspective on how the beautiful Utah landscape has transformed over the years.

We wrap up this engaging episode by probing into Dana's thoughts on a potential Fletch Con - and we can assure you that it's a discussion you won't want to miss! We're thrilled to have been able to invite you on this journey with us and Dana, and we're certain you'll be left wanting more. So, tune in and get ready for an unforgettable conversation with Dana Wheeler-Nicholson!

1980: Caddyshack / Top Bill Murray Stuff

1980: Caddyshack / Top Bill Murray Stuff

It's happening! After close to three years, we're finally talking about maybe our collective favorite movie ever: 1980's Caddyshack! No movie has been more quoted, more watched, and more important to bringing us together with our friends than Caddyshack. In this episode, we talk all about what makes it great in our opinion.

One of the reasons Caddyshack is so wonderful is the performance of Bill Murray. While Ted Knight (Judge Smails), Rodney Dangerfield (Al Czervik), and Chevy Chase (Ty Webb) are also at the top of their game, Murray's Carl Spackler stands out as much as anyone else. We cap the episode off by drafting our favorite Bill Murray movies and other credits. Well...we're waiting...for you to listen!

Episode 82: Three Amigos! (1986) // Do they have anything beside Mexican food?

Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms, and Ned Nederlander.  Silly names to you but goddamn hero's to the rest of us.  The Three Amigos showed up, turned cultural appropriation on hits head and rode off into the sunset.  This movie has a ton of laughs fronted by three of the best comedians of the 80s.  Martin Short, Chevy Chase and Steve Martin and directed by the ever talented John Landis (Not the dude from Little House on the Prairie)

The word of the day is "distinguish."  It's Oscar's season.  If you see Oscar, let him know he still owes me $20 all season!  Live in the past, live in the future, I don't really care where you live, but do it elsewhere.  You can't live in the closet in my guest room anymore.  I'm sorry, I just don't have the room.  I know you said you'd stop eating the shirts, but I don't know if I can trust you anymore.  Max got a visit from the FBI (Federal Block Inspectors).  Stretch your gams, stretch your truth.   Michael is still learning Spanish from an insect.  You read that right, he's learning another language from a freaking bug.  Elementary!  We're breaking ground, we're breaking hearts, we're getting lavs.

12 Days of Christmas: Funny Farm

12 Days of Christmas: Funny Farm

The first 80 minutes of this 100 minute movie have nothing to do with Christmas. The last 20 minutes? It's positively awash with holiday gubbins.

Chevy Chase and Madolyn Smith Osborne play a married couple who leave big city life behind and move to picturesque rural Vermont. From there, a series of misadventures befalls them, culminating in a Norman Rockwell-like Christmastime setting.

Ashley & Matt talk about Funny Farm in today's 12 Days of Christmas episode. It's a movie we're very fond of!

EPISODE 35: 'Twas the Night before Fletchmas!!!

The holidays are upon us once again, and as 2022 wraps, Fletchmas is in full swing. Laker Jim, Jake, and Big Bob discuss Geena Davis' new book "Dying of Politeness" where she reveals how her character was named Larry. The crew dives deep into the movie "Hoodwinked" and detail every Fletch reference ... and believe me, there's a lot. The boys exchange gifts and discuss a Fletch version of Elf on a Shelf, Moonriver at Midnight and more. Then Santa stops by to read the guys "Twas the Night before Fletchmas." This episode is sure to be an instant classic.

    A Scrooged Christmas Vacation

    A Scrooged Christmas Vacation

This ain't no trip to Lapland, and it's not your moms plum pudding. And it's most certainly not a hallucination brought on by Russian vodka poisoned by Chernobyl! What it is, is a Yuletide celebration to rival any stocking stuffer you're sure receive.

Let us never forget the sentiments of Frank Cross at this time of year. The most magical moment for humanity. Yule love it!

It's Christmas time in Hollis Queens, mom's cooking chicken.....oops, wrong miracle monologue.

It's Christmas Eve! It's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we smile a little easier, we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be. It's really a sort of a miracle, because it happens every Christmas Eve. And if you waste that miracle, you're gonna burn for it, I know what I am talking about. You have to do something. You have to take a chance. You do have to get involved. There are people that are having trouble making their miracle happen. There are people that don't have enough to eat, or people that are cold. You can go out and say hello to these people. You can take an old blanket out of the closet and say "Here!", you can make them a sandwich and say "Oh, by the way, here!" I get it now! And if you give, then it can happen, then the miracle can happen to you! It's not just the poor and the hungry, it's everybody's who's gotta have this miracle! And it can happen tonight for all of you! If you believe in this spirit thing, the miracle will happen and then you'll want it to happen again tomorrow. You won't be one of these bastards who says "Christmas is once a year and it's a fraud", it's NOT! It can happen every day, you've just got to want that feeling. And if you like it and you want it, you'll get greedy for it! You'll want it every day of your life and it can happen to you! I believe in it now! I believe it's going to happen to me now! I'm ready for it! And it's great. It's a good feeling, it's really better than I've felt in a long time. I'm ready. Have a Merry Christmas, everybody.

    Shitter's full.
