Things do not always go the way you planned but sometimes that may not be a bad thing.  Learning to accept the setbacks can be tough especially when you poured your heart and soul out for a dream that falls short of working out. We always see the success stories displayed on YouTube and the other social media platforms but I feel obligated to tell the humbling stories as well. Those moments in life that crush you and make you feel trapped. 

I am very excited to be marching in this new direction and look forward to bringing you along the journey!

It is always a pleasure to speak to someone close to home about the coffee world. Marcus's take on the industry and our love for the art of roasting is what connects us all in this crazy coffee adventure.  While learning to roast coffee we all follow that same long learning curve of excitement, frustration, and curiosity! Jason didn’t sugarcoat much, and I honestly respect that so much in a person.  I learned a lot from this episode and will definitely take some of this advice to heart.

In this episode, we discuss the incredible journey of Tyler Ellison as he takes us on the journey of building out a coffee trailer, legal issues with the name of the business, roasting on the new Aillio bullet, and the battle to keep pursuing coffee.  I had a blast speaking with Tyler and I learned a ton in this episode. I have been curious about the coffee trailer arena and he definitely did not glamorize or sugarcoat anything about the realities of it.

I learned a ton from Ben in this episode and the conversation really shed some light on how we can all work together to help coffee farmers earn a sustainable income. Hearing about the landscape, the people, the culture, the native language, and the laughter is what makes coffee so special. There is a story to be shared for everyone in the coffee supply chain and the happier we can make everyone's experience in that chain the better off we will be as a coffee culture.

This episode made me reflect on why some people are building a legacy while others are chasing a hobby.  Speaking with Alex was such a pleasure. It has been long overdue. My dream for starting a coffee shop goes back many years. Hopefully, 2022 is the year I can make that dream become a reality. Like all ventures though there is risk involved.  I know things can change quickly and not go as planned but I am pretty confident that this will be something we can pull off in 2022. I hope the series I am about to document is beneficial to you and I hope Cedar Ota is a place we can all gather one day and meet, drink coffee, and discuss the shenanigans we are about to embark upon! In episode 8 Jordan and I dive deep into his journey into coffee roasting and his passion for coffee.  We discuss what "More Coffee" means to him and go into detail on why he chose his current roaster.  We discuss how to sell coffee and best marketing avenues that have worked best for him.  Jordan was one of those guys that is easy to connect with.  Truly appreciated my bearded brother from a different mother coming on and sharing his story!
