SEO SHORTS: KRISTIN LAWTON: 6-WEEK MARKETING PLANNING RETREAT

SEO SHORTS: KRISTIN LAWTON: 6-WEEK MARKETING PLANNING RETREAT

Kristin Lawton joined us earlier this year for an episode of The Simple & Smart SEO Show and we couldn’t miss the chance to ask her to go deeper on one specific task she shared.

How to have a 6-week business planning retreat with yourself!

This is a 2-hour task (maybe 4 hr total if you’ve never done this before).

Here’s how Kristin breaks it down:

    1. Make it feel like a treat: get out to a coffee shop or take yourself to dinner
    2. Plan for a quarter and treat the 6-week planning session like a check in—a little more work the first time you do this, but each future retreat will feel like a lighter lift!
    3. 2 categories: personal & professional
    4. Write things on or add things to your calendar
    5. Review your quarterly goals & check in on key metrics

Be sure to take Kristin’s quiz to discover your signature brand marketing style!

How I get work done while being home with my kids all day

How I get work done while being home with my kids all day

Host Sydney O'Brien dives into the practical strategies and tools that can help busy mompreneurs effectively manage their businesses and family life. Sharing her own experience as a mompreneur, Sydney emphasizes the importance of supporting and balancing both work and family.

One of the key strategies highlighted in this episode is the use of a written intention to guide and align the priorities of a mompreneur's work with their family's needs. Sydney discusses the power of adapting and adjusting routines and work strategies when faced with shifting schedules and life circumstances, particularly in her military family that frequently experiences relocations.

Sydney introduces time blocking as an effective way to manage tasks and avoid distractions, and suggests using a timer to stay accountable and focused. She also emphasizes the benefits of batching content and planning ahead, techniques that save time and reduce stress. Additionally, Sydney shares her system of designated times for different tasks in both her household and homeschooling, ensuring a structured and organized approach that minimizes chaos.

In terms of utilizing technology, Sydney recommends the project management tool Trello for managing both work and personal life. She explains how content calendars and project management tools like Trello can help mompreneurs stay organized and on track.

Sydney also delves into the importance of regulation and setting a positive mindset for children when mompreneurs need to work with them at home. She shares strategies for ensuring her kids have sufficient outdoor time, food, water, and physical activity, as well as providing designated activities or toys to keep them engaged independently.

Throughout the episode, Sydney emphasizes the value of creating a balanced life and not letting the business consume all of one's time and personal life. She acknowledges that each family has different needs and circumstances, and that the strategies and tools she discusses may not work for everyone. However, her aim is to provide guidance, support, and inspiration for mompreneurs in achieving work-life balance and finding success in their businesses while being present for their families.

EP 65 : Content Batching - Create a month of content in 1-hour

It can be tough to come up with new content ideas, and then it's even harder to put those ideas into a plan and actually produce the content.

Content batching is the answer, it's my answer, and it's worked not only for me but for hundreds of my clients. I am going to share with you how you can begin planning a month's worth of content in 1-hour - leaving you with a solid plan that will help you stay on track and produce the high-quality content you desire.

Ep 6 - Easy Content Planning

Ep 6 - Easy Content Planning

Is being consistent with your social media posts overwhelming you?

Worry no more because, in today’s episode, I will share with you the what, when, why, and how of content planning. I tell you, content planning is not rocket science. It’s basic math. Listen up and learn how to have stress-free content planned out.

    Key takeaways from this episode:

    Tips for Easy Content planning:

    1.
    Set small goals

    • Determine how many times to post.
    • You don’t need to post everyday. It’s better to post a few times with quality content than 3-4 not so good content.
    • If you don’t add value through your post, people might unfollow or not follow you.

    2. Calculate the total amount of posts needed.

    • If you are going to post 3 times a week.

    Example:

    3 (posts/week) x 2 weeks = 6 pieces of content.

    • 2 weeks of content is a good number to handle.
    • It can be different kinds of content (photo, video, story, reel, etc.) Mix it up for variety.

    3. Look at your insights.

    • Your insights will tell you when is the best time for you to post.
    • Post your content on your best days and times.
    • You want to reach more people with your hard work.

    4. Engage with your audience.

    • Don’t just post and disappear. Stay and chat with people who comment. -Engage in the first hour of your post.
    • Comment on other people’s feed. Most will return the favor.

    5. Analyze your results

    • Check out your engagement rate
    • Determine why it did good or not. Look for improvements.
