When we think of God, most of us think of Him working for the good of His people - saving them, protecting them, blessing them, and sanctifying them. Few of us like to think that God will intentionally set His Eyes on His people for evil. But through the prophet, Amos, God tells us that is exactly what He will do. People often say that cursing is not a sin so long as you don't use God's name in vain. They are just words, and wouldn't even be considered curses at different times in history and in different cultures. Some rationalize that even if you say "darn," God knows what you are really thinking, so be true to yourself and don't lie to God and say what you're thinking. But what does the Bible say about it? And how about drinking?  Is it okay for Christians to drink so long as they don't get drunk? 

Paul answers these and other questions in the beginning part of Eph. chapter 5 including questions about foolish talk, sexual immorality, idolatry, false teaching, functioning in this dark world, disobedience, and being an effective Christian witness. Join us as we delve into God's Word!
