    Australian Survivor - Titans Vs Rebels Week 7 (w/ Rula Paterson)

    It’s the penultimate week of Australian Survivor Titans Vs Rebels and Sam is joined by best Judy, Rula Paterson.

    Rula is a social justice warrior and art enthusiast working in the tertiary sector who, like me, loves to escape in some reality TV at the end of a long day.

    Sam and Rula recap episodes 19-21 of Australian Survivor Titans Vs Rebels.

    This week on Survivor Alex shaves his chest but can't shave himself from elimination. Kirby wants to be the best by beating the best.. and that means Feras and the Karens finally pull off a convincing lie! Meanwhile, Jury Villa packs out with more budgy smugglers.

    Rula’s cringe this week is Kate Middleton true crime conspiracy theories and the two also discuss the upcoming season of Masterchef Australia.

    Seb Lavoie - Victim Mentality the #1 Wellness Killer

    Seb Lavoie - Victim Mentality the #1 Wellness Killer
    Guest, critical thinker and speaker, Seb Lavoie reached out as he felt that a social media post was feeding into victim mentality and he wanted to either understand, support, or perhaps, both. What happened next through an abundance of alignment and respect is an enlightened and organic conversation between two people who discuss the importance of taking a 'tactical pause' and how victim mentality is the number one wellness killer. This episode is special in that it is dedicated to two incredible young women: Angela Lee Pucci and her late sister, Victoria lee. They are bound by sisterhood, mma, and suicide. To honour Victoria, Angela launched the mental health not for profit, Fight Story.

    The One About Men and Anger

    The One About Men and Anger
    Why is anger easier for men to express than other emotions? Can men work through their anger in healthy ways? What's underneath the anger and how do men discover a broader range of emotions? Jim & Jay explore all these questions as they attempt to discuss anger without getting angry. Plus, the guys celebrate reaching a podcast goal, spin the wheel of emotions, and pick the top clowns of all time.

    Ep 20 - Album Club - Modern Classics

    Ep 20 - Album Club - Modern Classics

    We usually pick a (relatively) new album release to focus on but this month we changed things up. The start of the year is a funny time for album releases and 2022 was no different. We decided that rather than spend a month and a podcast talking about something that we weren't too passionate about, we'd take a different path.  This month is the first TINH 'Album Club'.

    The format for this podcast is simple. The four of us all (randomly) chose  someone from the Team-TINH to pick an album for. The album should be from the past 10 (ish) years and should represent something special that the recipient might have missed. A modern classic perhaps.

    This episode was loads of fun to make. There's loads of agreement, a little bit of niggle, a fair chunk of nerdery ... something for everyone. The following are the albums that we discussed, who chose them, who they were chosen for and some links that take you to some of the things that popped up in the discussion.

    First-up - Joey chose Deerhunter's 2010 'Halcyon Digest' for Guy;

    You can listen to the album here on Spotify
    ... or catch it on YouTube here
    The ethereal video for Helicopter can be watched here
    ... or watch them perform the poptastic 'Memory Boy' here

    Next-up - Nolan chose Kanye West's 2016
    'Life of Pablo' for David (what could go wrong?);

    You can listen to the album here on Spotify
    ... or catch it on YouTube here
    Nolan highly recommends NORE's podcast interview with Kanye here ...
    ... and if 2.5hrs of Kanye wasn't enough here's part 2

    Next-up - David chose Wye Oak's 2011
    'Civilian' for Joey;

    You can listen to the album here on Spotify
    ... or catch it on YouTube here
    Watch a live NPR Tiny Desk performance of 'Civilian' here

    Finally - Guy chose Enny's 2021's
    'Under 25' for Nolan;

    You can listen to the album here on Spotify
    ... or catch it on YouTube here
    Watch the video to 'I want' here
    ... and the video for 'Peng Black Girls' here

    Next Up Episode #21
    will see us dive deep into all 20 of the tracks on Big Thief's double album release 'Dragon New Mountain I Believe in You'. Have a listen here i

    Trauma Responses and Implants (of any sort) |Cassandra Hope| Episode 20

    Trauma Responses and Implants (of any sort) |Cassandra Hope| Episode 20

    This week I talked with Cassandra, a Functional Trauma Therapist about healing the gut-brain connection with people who have experienced early childhood traumas and/or a myriad of traumas. How people who tend to, depending on their lifestyle or genetics develop pathologies. From autoimmune diseases to mental health disorders, she shares with us her discoveries and how patients relapse with medical diets when we don't address our specific traumas. She suggests we cannot begin to heal until this is done.

    What does this mean?

    What does this look like?

    Cassandra explains how healing is a "top down, bottom up approach". From thought patterns to belief systems. And then again from the bottom up with environmental toxicities and chemicals, infections as well as how things like (breast) implants can wreak havoc on our bodies. Explaining how they can potentially cause a constant trauma response in the body when the body is already hyper vigilant and intolerant to invaders. She explains how the body feels the need to protect itself due to our traumatic experiences, how layering in an implant of any sort (screws, metal plates, etc.) can trigger a trauma response and open up a world of medical troubles. Clean it up and reprogram, she says. It can be done!

    Cassandra dives a little deeper and opens up about her own personal experiences with trauma and what led her to initially seek implants. She shares with us  how  her own traumas resulted in chronic sickness, manifesting to the point of needing her explant.

    This episode is jam packed with knowledge AND inspiration we can’t wait for you to hear!

    We cannot thank her enough for her strength and kindness in sharing her story!
