803 From Lame to Leaping, pt. 1 (Acts 3:1-6)

803 From Lame to Leaping, pt. 1 (Acts 3:1-6)

Now apostles Peter and John go up to the Temple at the normal hour of prayer and end up healing a man who had been lame for over 40 years. What was the hour of prayer, and why were the apostles still participating in the Temple services? This lesson covers much about the professed “faith healers” of our day, and contrasts what we see men claiming vs. the actual gift of healing that was given to Yeshua’s apostles.

đŸ§ȘCan Your Minister Pass This Test? EB-30

đŸ§ȘCan Your Minister Pass This Test?: We are called by God to honor those He sends to help guide us in the path of salvation. They are tasked with the responsibility of ensuring our well being. We are also told by God not to make their jobs hard. Yet, that being said, we are also called to inspect their fruits. To validate their conduct and ensure they are being faithful in their calling. We are not called to follow them down the primrose path to hell. Or, let them tickle our ears and lie to our faces. So we must be on guard and follow the guide given to us in scripture. While we read let us also inspect ourselves and see if we can pass the test: As we are all called to minister for the Lord.

Matthew 7:15-20 “Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves.  (16)  You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered from thorns or figs from thistles, are they?  (17)  In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.  (18)  A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.  (19)  Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  (20) So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.” #TestYourMinister #MinistryTest #FalseProphets

The Kingdom of Israel Splits - The Book of 1 Kings

The Kingdom of Israel Splits - The Book of 1 Kings

In this Bible Story, we witness the splitting of Israel. Solomon’s sin causes God to strip him of his legacy. Rehoboam, Solomon’s son, uses the throne as an opportunity to be cruel. Jeroboam is named king in place of Rehoboam. So Rehoboam ruled over Judah, while Jeroboam ruled over the other ten tribes of Israel. This story is inspired by 1 Kings 11:26-12:24 & 2 Chronicles 10-11:1-4. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.

Today's Bible verse is 1 Kings 11:34 from the King James Version.

Episode 117: Solomon’s lust for foreign women eventually led him to foreign worship as well. This idolatry not only tore apart his relationship with God but would tear the kingdom from his hands as well. During the reign of his son Rehoboam, Jeroboam, one of his servants who had fled from him, returned. He came to confront the new king about the injustices of his father, hoping he would change. However, when Rehoboam refused the wise counsel of his elders and gave a harsh message to the people, the ten tribes of the north left him and followed Jeroboam instead.

God kept David from killing his brethren that day, but when they returned to Ziklag, they found that the Amalekites had raided their city and taken their wives and children. So David sought God and pursued the Amalekites to overtake them, bringing back their wives and children. God gave them favor, and the women, children, livestock, and goods were saved! Discerning False Prophets

    Discerning False Prophets

    Matthew 24:3-5, 36-39

3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.

    2 Corinthians 11:1-20

I hope you will put up with me in a little foolishness. Yes, please put up with me!2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.4 For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

5 I do not think I am in the least inferior to those “super-apostles.”6 I may indeed be untrained as a speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way.7 Was it a sin for me to lower myself in order to elevate you by preaching the gospel of God to you free of charge?8 I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so as to serve you.9 And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.10 As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, nobody in the regions of Achaia will stop this boasting of mine.11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

12 And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about.13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ.14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

16 I repeat: Let no one take me for a fool. But if you do, then tolerate me just as you would a fool, so that I may do a little boasting.17 In this self-confident boasting I am not talking as the Lord would, but as a fool.18 Since many are boasting in the way the world does, I too will boast.19 You gladly put up with fools since you are so wise!20 In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or puts on airs or slaps you in the face.21 To my shame I admit that we were too weak for that!

Prose and Cons Talk: False Prophets, False Prophetess and Sarah Jakes Roberts

A prayer cloth is just a piece of linen,
Anointing oil won't heal you if you're not a Christian,
A word from heaven could be from a demon,
Those ministries don't deserve your tithes and offerings,
Stop giving away your hard earned money!
They're thieves and you're their ATM machines,
Making a lucrative business off of False Prophecies.
You gamble and play the lottery,
Winning because of luck, dreams and visions.
    Fallen angels are lying spirits,
Yet, you think it's God's goodness.
Pray for False Prophets, False Prophetess
    and Sarah Jakes Roberts.
May the Lord show mercy and kindness.
They'll be judge for deceiving God's children,
Just because they say they're saved,
doesn't mean they follow Christ Jesus.

    Day 235: Lying Prophets (2023)

    Day 235: Lying Prophets (2023)
Fr. Mike focuses on the prophet Jeremiah’s continued sorrow and explains how lying prophets bring forth destruction. He invites us to examine what lies in our lives are bringing destruction. We also continue reading about Ezekiel’s vision, and see the glory of the Lord return to the temple. Today’s readings are Jeremiah 14-15, Ezekiel 43-44, and Proverbs 15:13-16. Day 215: False Prophets (2023)

    Day 215: False Prophets (2023)
Fr. Mike focuses on Ezekiel's warnings about false prophets misleading the people of Israel, and challenges us to reflect whether we choose to listen to prophets who tell us what we need to hear, not just what we want to hear. Today's readings are Isaiah 51-52, Ezekiel 12-13, and Proverbs 12:21-24. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear. Please note: The Bible contains adult themes that may not be suitable for children - parental discretion is advised.

Poison In the Pulpit - Audio

Poison In the Pulpit - Audio
Let the world do as it will. Left to itself, the world always chooses self-indulgence. But it is the church’s job to shine the pure light of God’s truth in the midst of the darkness. After all—if the church lives like the world, why would the world ever want to be part of the church? Any doctrine that makes it easy to sin or that redefines sin & any doctrine that makes sin less sinful comes straight from hell.

    Encore False Prophets

    Encore False Prophets
We’ve all heard the media reports about cult leaders causing tremendous harm to their followers. But that’s not the kind of false prophecy we are going to be talking about today. Prophecy is truth telling with regard to the nature of the divine and the self. False prophecy is lying with regard to the nature of the divine and self. We all have false prophets within us. And today we are going to differentiate the false from the true prophets within us. Where are we lying to ourselves with regard to the nature of the divine and the self? For to the degree to which we are lying to ourselves, that is the degree to which we lack clear direction, clear guidance about our lives. Don’t miss this one.

Daniel and the King's Dream - The Book of Daniel

In this Bible Story, King Nebuchadnezzar is tormented by dreams. In search of an interpretation, the king seeks out the wise men and magicians of the time. Daniel, just like Joseph before Pharaoh, is given governance over the kingdom as a result. This story is inspired by Daniel 2. Go to BibleinaYear.com and learn the Bible in a Year.

Today's Bible verse is Daniel 2:27-28 from the King James Version.

But when Daniel heard of the order, he came to the king to intercede for the men and God gave him a message that would bring the King of Babylon to his knees.
