Steph became friends with Tracey through their mother's group - you may remember her from a previous KICBUMP episode titled "Postpartum, poop and prams" with another friend Emma. In today's episode, Steph wanted to chat to Tracey about something that almost none of us have experienced but so many of us are curious about or at the very least fascinated by - home births.
Tracey's story is just incredible. She birthed her 4 month old son Airlie at home (which was planned), but without any midwives present (which was definitely unplanned)! Hear how she educated herself on home births, what she equipped herself with in the lead up, how she attained her midwives and her advice for any mums looking at this as an option for their birth plan.
And on another note, we love hearing your 'Toddler Tantrum Tales'! If your toddler has cracked it over something hilarious (like not being allowed to eat the dog food or crying over some broken eggs that they sat on) please send yours in to us @kicpod on Instagram. Voice notes and written messages welcome! 🥰

Life is so much better when you live from the heart.
Today’s guest, Randi Halaway, has helped me do just this and I’m so excited for you to meet her. Randi is a heart-centered soul and business coach who helps women transform chaos into abundance, and she cracks her heart WIDE open in this episode.
As moms, we can be so hard on ourselves – from being afraid to take sacred time for ourselves to showing up for our kids in the way we want to. Sometimes it might feel like we have to be perfect for them, or that we must shield them from hurt.
What if we took that pressure off ourselves and showed up in a way that’s just authentically ourselves?
Randi is the woman who guided me through this rollercoaster journey, from quitting my corporate sales job, launching a business, and having a baby, which was followed by the most difficult year of my life mentally. She provided me with the tools to resettle back into my body to find clarity and peace.
In this conversation, we’ll explore how we can reconnect to our intuition and our heart space.

Randi has been coaching and supporting women since 2016, helping them create and implement key strategies and organization within their businesses and their lives. Did you know there's a push to have the phrase 'Matresence' recognised? It's a term used to describe the transformation of a woman into a mother, and it's believed the changes experienced can be similar to adolescence
A pregnancy is divided into trimesters: the first trimester is from week 1 to the end of week 12. the second trimester is from week 13 to the end of week 26. the third trimester is from week 27 to the end of the pregnancy.

Getting ready to have a baby can be exciting and daunting all at the same time. Not only do you need to work out all the essentials your baby needs, but you also need to work out what family benefits you’re entitled to… And that’s a whole debacle on its own!
Leigh and Tegan chat to the General Manager of Services Australia Hank Jongen, about how to claim family tax benefits and what you’re entitled to.
Plus, Tegan’s WTF moment of the week was when her little toddler said “I love you” for the first time… and without any prompts! Excuse us while we mend our melting hearts back together.

Mamas! Pop your earbuds in for this one!
Heidi and I have a transparent conversation that's loaded with truth, laughter, and advice for the pregnant mama who is anxious about delivering her baby during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have six kids between the two of us, and the wisdom flows freely on all fronts of motherhood, but with the main focus being on what to expect while being pregnant during the pandemic.
Heidi shares how pregnancy and prenatal visits were different this go 'round. She talks about advice she got from her midwife that helped prepare her mentally for a smooth labor and delivery, what you should definitely pack in your birth bag, and what she wishes someone would have told her about labor, delivery, and postpartum phases of having a baby. Naturally, I chime in with my experiences as well! This was a fun and informative time that you will want to share with pregnant mama friends needing a laugh and peace of mind.
Our hope is to encourage and put you at ease. The truth is: God is in control and your body knows what to do!

The person we choose to attend our birth is one of the most impactful decisions we can make. Unfortunately, all too often the decision is made by default, choosing our gynecologist or our friend’s OB, or simply someone whose practice is close and convenient. We believe in making an informed and conscientious choice about who we allow to attend our birth.
Today, we talk about the first three questions you should consider asking your provider, along with some red flags that would have us running in search of someone better. And most importantly, we identify the one question you should ask yourself each time you leave your provider’s office.
