029 - "Sleepless in Seattle" is 27 Years Old!

Brandon and Sarah watched “Sleepless in Seattle” 27 years after it was released. They give their take on whether it has held up over time or smells a bit moldy. But before that, they talk about gross spiders (again) and some other weird bugs, AND share about their exciting first experience guesting on another show, “Why Do We Have a Podcast,” with hosts Ant and Mike! It was great fun, and only a little bit nerve-racking. The guys were super nice and made us feel right at home. We hope you give it a listen when it’s released later this week (Google Podcasts link below).

    2 - You've Got Mail (w/ Laurel Andersen)

This week, Abby is joined by New York theater-maker Laurel Andersen to talk about that classic tale of pride (or is it prejudice?), You've Got Mail, a movie that's luckily managed to age a bit better than its titular technology. Join us as we parse this 90s rom-com's myriad problems with emotional infidelity, cutthroat capitalism, the only people of color in New York, and more than a few mind-blowing moments.

WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989): MEG RYAN

WHEN HARRY MET SALLY (1989): MEG RYAN

I hope you have what we’re having...in this episode! This week, Steffi is joined by first time guest co-host, Jess Sylvestre, to discuss the romcom that - along with “Pretty Woman” - helped launch the modern romcom era. Yep, we’re talking “When Harry Met Sally” (1989) and our romcom diva of the week: Meg Ryan.

LOGLINE: The story follows Harry & Sally from the time they meet just before sharing a cross-country drive, through twelve years of chance encounters in New York City. The film raises the question "Can men and women ever just be friends?" and advances many ideas about relationships that became household concepts, such as "high-maintenance” and the "transitional person".

On many films Leonard has been the department head and is highly skilled in everything from beauty to prosthetics. You should check out his IMDB because because his credits are too many to mention. When Harry Met Sally... #5

    When Harry Met Sally... #5

This episode of The Movie Bucket List, we deep dive into When Harry Met Sally... from 1989. Remember that fake orgasm scene? Yeah, we do, too, and we discuss it at length, along with all the other differences between men and women. Rob Reiner's directorial telling of Nora Ephron's story is what movie classics are made of. This one might be slightly longer, but it just shows how much we love the movie. Oh and our own When Chris Met Pam... re-telling as well. Grab a drink and send the kids out of the room for this one! "I'll have what she's having."

    When Harry Met Sally

    When Harry Met Sally

We are starting off the FW '19 season with BLOCKBUSTER after BLOCKBUSTER. Marlowe and Eve talk about the critically acclaimed When Harry Met Sally, directed by Rob Reiner, and written by our queen Nora Ephron. We break down the film's core arguments. Can men and women ever be friends? Do men really think about how long they have to hold someone before they can leave? Has watching this film ruined our ability to see relationships clearly????
