Roger Rabbit and the Christmas Factory (w/ Tim Babb)

Roger Rabbit and the Christmas Factory (w/ Tim Babb)

What’s up, dudes? In 1988, “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” was a huge hit, and introduced us to the titular character. Disney then thought it was a great idea to give him his own Disneyland show! I’ve got Tim Babb from Can’t Wait for Christmas with me to talk all about this bonkers Roger Rabbit Christmas stage show! Yes, it’s “Roger Rabbit and the Christmas Factory!”

It’s Christmas Eve, and Santa’s still looking to hire an elf to help him meet his quota before the big delivery. Subsequently Murray, the elf foreman, hires Roger Rabbit. Roger is in charge of using supercomputer MACS to produce toys. As he falls behind, he cranks up the speed and accidentally halts production. Attempting to fix MACS, Roger accidentally clones himself. After he completes his repairs, he begins to once again manufacture toys. Unfortunately he picks up speed and, in a moment of sheer desperation, hits the panic button. With the supercomputer down, and the Holiday Clock reminding him time is short, Roger must rely on Santa to fix the situation.

New York accented head elf? Got it. Toon Town stylized SkyNet AI? It’s in there. Anthropomorphic Christmas trees and computer manual “Manuel?” Well… So grab your elf hat, head to Disneyland, and enjoy this episode full of Roger Rabbit Christmas shenanigans!

Episode 0057: Taylor and Kelce, the Tooth Fairy, and Other Lies We Tell Children

The streak is broken! Lindsey finally ended her almost decade-long ban on seeing movies in the theater for the Taylor Swift concert film. A discussion of her children’s soon-to-be first trip to the movies turned to the lies we tell children. Of course, the Eras Tour movie’s box office and implications are discussed, as is a disturbing Reddit post involving unhealthy fandom. Other topics include Beyonce’s successful tour, Nicholas Cage and John Voigt’s acting styles, and college football rivalries. Also, Lindsey believes Barbie is this generation’s Roger Rabbit.

Brett and Westin get real wild this issue. These two are maniacs who deserve to live on a swamp somewhere. Anyways, this magazine includes Duck Tales, Dragon Warrior, Fester's Quest, NES Satellite, Game Boy, Howard & Nester. Actually, this is a really big episode for Howard & Nester. Shit goes down, that's all I'm going to say. They deserve to live on a swamp somewhere if you catch my drift? Put those two on a swamp and call it a day.

    Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

    Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

    Episode Summary

Thanks to its impressive technological innovation and astounding attention to detail, Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) achieved commercial and critical success under the Touchstone Pictures film label. Erin and Rachel debate whether the clever script and filmmaking can adequately compensate for offensive content. Importantly, they also consider whether Jessica Rabbit is actually bad, or just drawn that way.

Episode 73: Who Framed Roger Rabbit (9.28)
Return to a 1940s Toon Town with us as we revisit 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit'. Karl gives unverified film trivia, shows a complete understanding of women's anatomy, and ends up defending perverts; Mark gives theme park history from memory, gets outed as the 'messed up one' this time, and leaves little clues for his games; and Sara compares cartoon bodies, is continually unwilling to talk about shoes, and gives us all a lesson on whether or not we can gender hippos. Enjoy!

Disneyland's Chocolate Peanut Butter Sandwich Recipe - Pooh Corner

    *Recipe from sixsistersstuff.com

    Ingredients

    • 6 graham cracker sheets
    • 3 cups milk chocolate chips
    • 2 tsp shortening
    • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 1 1/2 tsp milk

    Instructions

    1. Line a cookie sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
    2. Melt 1 1/2 cups of the chocolate chips and 1 tsp of shortening in a microwave safe bowl. Stir in 20 second intervals until fully melted and smooth.
    3. Dip each graham cracker half into the chocolate, gently tapping or scraping off the excess chocolate. You want the graham cracker completely covered.
    4. Set each chocolate covered graham cracker on the cookie sheet and place in the fridge or freezer to set up quickly.
    5. While the chocolate covered graham crackers are setting up, make the peanut butter filling by mixing the peanut butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Mix until smooth and creamy. Roll into 12 equal dough balls and chill in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
    6. Pull out the chilled, chocolate covered graham crackers and peanut butter balls. Gently flatten the peanut butter balls to the size of the graham cracker and place it on the chocolate graham. Gently spread it to the edges to evenly distribute.
    7. Melt the other 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips with 1 tsp of shortening, stirring until smooth. Gently spoon chocolate over the peanut butter layer and spread around with a spoon, covering the top and sides. Put back in the fridge or freezer to set up (about 15-20 minutes). Pull out and drizzle leftover chocolate over the top of each sandwich.
    8. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week. They taste best when set at room temperature for about 20 minutes before eating.
