How to Spot the 7 Chronic Problems of Dysfunctional Teams

How to Spot the 7 Chronic Problems of Dysfunctional Teams

Have you ever been a member of a dysfunctional team?

If you have then you know how frustrating, depressing, and stressful it can be.

Stephen Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, identified The 7 chronic problems of dysfunctional teams. The 7 issues are :

    1. No shared vision or values

    2. No strategic path

    3. Poor alignment

    4. Wrong style

    5. Poor skills

    6. Low trust

    7. No self-integrity

They are called chronic because, as with chronic diseases, dysfunctional team problems are persistent and cause continual pain. If these chronic issues are not treated then the organisation will continue to deteriorate and could even die.

The podcast includes a  further explanation of each one.

In today’s episode of Transmit Safety, Aimee shares how she takes control of her to-do list and manages her work-life balance.

    In this episode, you’ll learn:

    • How to keep control of your to-do list

    Quotes from this episode

“The reality is not everything is urgent. Not everything is important. I'm gonna say that again. Not everything is urgent. And not everything is important. Regardless of who is on the other end of that request.”

“You can't just flat out say no. But it's okay to say not today. It's okay to say not right now. It's okay to say maybe I'm going to redirect this task to somebody else who has the same skill set as I.”

“You are important. Keep track of your time, track the tasks, requests, and prioritize based on your definition of urgency and importance. Say it with me. I am only one person and can only do so many things in a day. And that's okay.”

    How Faith Informs Our Practice

    How Faith Informs Our Practice

Recently, Michael Wallin and Stacey Andres attended a conference called "Redeeming Money," put on by Kingdom Advisors. Kingdom Advisors is an organization that helps teach, educate and resource those who are in the financial planning industry approach helping their clients plan their future from a Biblical, God centered perspective.  This aligns closely with Michael and Stacey's values, and the came away from the conference with a few quotes that illustrate this, including:

"Is your ladder leaning against the wrong wall?"

"I want to steward the much as much as I steward the little."

“Immature people only see things from their point of view.  Lordship issues are resolved when I manage it for Him.”

Throughout today's episode, Michael and Stacey will explain their philosophy as advisors, and how they can help you with your financial future.

The 3 Lists You Must Have to Set and Achieve Your Goals with Eric Konovalov, The Goal Guide

That's because Zig understood the principles required for achieving success.

In this episode, Eric shares the 3 lists that everyone should make, if they're serious about achieving their goals.

    This three lists are:

    1. Things I don't want

Eric referenced five books in this episode. They are:

Intentional Living by John C. Maxwell

The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill

Rocks in a Jar: 11 Things They Didn’t Tell You

You’ve probably seen the “rocks in a jar” presentation about time management.  It’s great for visualizing the need to prioritize what’s important.  The problem is that I think there was a lot they left out.  Here are eleven things they didn’t mention about the concept that can make us even better at managing our time.
