Brian has been on an animated tear (That's 'tear' ... not 'tear') so he sketches out why you should watch Solar Opposites from Justin Roiland the creator of Rick and Morty and lays out the result of the love child between Kiwi geniuses Jermaine Clement and Taika Waititi .. that would be the vampire mockumentary comedy 'What We Do in the Shadows'

Dean (with no Hulu in Australia) raids his tagged items in the Aussie-based Stan Disney+ and  Binge platforms to come up with the gripping British crime drama 'Vigil'. He also likes The White Lotus and is rewatching the classic Working Dog Productions' razor sharp satire 'Utopia' (which is scarily accurate to his corporate day job)

Dea) WAS going to search up all of the trailers for these shows, to save YOU the trouble, but has decided he cant be arsed and you can do it yourselves. So on that note ... we'll see you on the socials!

Although it was filmed three years ago, “Free Guy” finally hit theaters a few weeks ago. Set in some Grand Theft Auto-like universe, Ryan Reynolds’s character “Guy” slowly realizes he’s an NPC living in a video game. The Crew thought it was fun, enjoyable, and entertaining. Although they agree it’s a good movie, there’s a few less-than-appealing aspects that they get into. Aho Young Warrior! 

I decided to do a mini season the show. The next eight episodes will be dedicated to the show. All other work feels like table scraps right now. I can't help but find myself only consuming this show and I want to talk about it. 

I love this show, the representation is so authentic it should have it's own enrollment card. I can't believe this show exists, so I had to take the time to talk about the show and why it's so awesome.

It's been a while since I've actually had time to do such a segment for the show proper, so here's a rundown of theme park news stories I missed over the past few months, namely:

Hoe een Nieuw-Zeelander een superheldenfranchise over een Noorse dondergod nieuw leven inblies. In Thor: Ragnarok mag hoofdrolspeler Chris Hemsworth grappig zijn. Ook wordt hij in een buddyfilm-constructie gekoppeld aan de Hulk van Mark Ruffalo. Dit derde deel is een krankzinnig, kleurrijk ruimteavontuur, met veel kleurrijke personages. Want ja, laat dat soort gekkigheid maar aan Taika Waititi over. En dan wordt er nog een jaren tachtig-laagje overheen gegooid met een synthesizersoundtrack.

Maar voor een doorgewinterde comicliefhebber als Riza Tisserand heeft de opzet van Thor: Ragnarok ook een nadeel. De film put namelijk behalve uit de gelijknamige stripreeks ook uit de serie Planet Hulk, en dat zijn twee van Riza's favoriete werken. Hij wist dat die nu nooit op zichzelf verfilmd zouden kunnen worden. Jammer, want dit zijn twee ongelofelijk brute verhalen. Toch weigert hij zijn duim omlaag te doen voor deze film. Waarom? Dat hoor je in de aflevering!

Riza gaat als comedian de theaters af met zijn show Adembenemend, de opvolger van zijn eerste succesvolle solovoorstelling Bekeerling. Waarschijnlijker ken je hem van BNNVARA's onelinershow Padoem Patsss, gepresenteerd door Howard Komproe. Riza had ook een tijdlang een comedycolumn bij de Ochtendshow met Giel. En eerder presenteerde hij zelf al jarenlang radioprogramma's op FunX en daarna NPO Radio 1. Dan is hij ook nog jurist. En ex-rapper. 

Deze aflevering is opgenomen in het Comedy Café! 

Verder bespreekt Riza ook met host Ruud dat hij callbacks in films maar niks vindt, waarom hij superkrachten zo tof vindt en waarom hij blij is dat Mark Ruffalo nu de Hulk speelt.

The Holocaust isn't exactly brimming with comedic potential. But in the right hands, the real-life horrors of World War II can serve a noble cause. In some cases, this harsh setting can underscore the futility of hate and the absurdity of prejudice. Such is the goal of this episode's movie, writer-director Taika Waititi's 2019 Oscar winner Jojo Rabbit.

On her first appearance, Karen Peterson brought Bridget Jones's Diary to the Table. But we had a lot more ground to cover this time. We'll discuss how some moviegoers grossly misunderstood Jojo Rabbit, what Waititi changes in his adaptation of Christine Leunens' 2004 novel Caging Skies, and why Scarlett Johansson is the undisputed heart of the movie.

So brush up on those dance moves, turn up some Bowie, and prepare to tell Hitler to eff off as we launch into 2019's "anti-hate satire" Jojo Rabbit.

SYNOPSIS

Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) is a lonely German boy who discovers that his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a Jewish girl (Thomas McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his imaginary friend -- Adolf Hitler (writer/director Taika Waititi) -- Jojo must confront his blind nationalism as World War II continues to rage on.
