    • Embracing the Power of Slowing Down for a More Fulfilling LifeTaking the time to pause and reflect allows for inspiration and courage to arise, leading to meaningful changes and a purposeful existence.

Slowing down is essential for both enjoying and improving your life. It's easy to get caught up in the fast-paced nature of life and constantly rush through our days. However, meaningful changes and insights come when we take the time to be still and reflect. By slowing down, we create the space necessary for inspiration and courage to arise. Whether it's going for a walk, taking a hike, or even just standing in a hot shower, these moments of stillness have the power to spark change. So instead of constantly rushing through life, embracing the power of slowing down can lead to a more fulfilling and purposeful existence.

    • Embracing Slowing Down for Creativity and InspirationTake time for quiet moments and ask reflective questions to slow down, spark inspiration, and achieve your goals. Use the free workbook as a companion to the podcast for real-time growth.

Slowing down and allowing your mind to wander can lead to creativity, new ideas, and inspiration for big changes. Taking time for quiet moments, like going for a walk or taking a shower, can help your subconscious mind bring ideas to the surface. Slowing down can be achieved by taking a deep breath, grabbing a mug of coffee, and journaling. By asking yourself six reflective questions, you can create moments of slowdown and spark inspiration. Additionally, a free workbook is available at Mel Robbins' website, containing the six questions and space for reflection. This workbook can act as a companion to the podcast episodes and help you set and achieve goals. So take the time to slow down, let your mind wander, and discover what you truly want in the upcoming year. Share this resource with loved ones and apply the knowledge gained from the podcast to your life for real-time growth and progress.

    • The Power of Self-Reflection and Learning from the PastBy conducting an annual personal audit, we can identify patterns and obstacles that hindered our happiness, allowing us to make conscious decisions to embrace joy and ultimately lead a happier and more fulfilling life.

Self-reflection and learning from past experiences are vital for personal growth and happiness. Mel Robbins emphasizes the importance of conducting an annual audit to discover themes and lessons from the previous year. By taking the time to truly reflect on our lives, we can identify patterns and obstacles that hindered our happiness. Robbins highlights that even during challenging periods, there is an opportunity to learn and grow. She encourages us to drop the sword and stop fighting against our own happiness. It is essential to recognize when we are the ones sabotaging our joy and make a conscious decision to embrace happiness instead. Through self-reflection and understanding, we can make powerful strides towards a happier and more fulfilling life.

    • Letting go and embracing happinessDrop the sword of negativity and embrace the present moment to allow happiness to enter your life. Focus on creating healthy boundaries instead of seeking perpetual balance.

We should drop the sword in our lives. The concept of dropping the sword means letting go of our defenses, tension, and negative energy that block happiness from entering our lives. By visualizing dropping the sword, our mindset and energy shift, allowing us to soften and embrace the present moment. We often block happiness with our attitude, energy, and the stories we tell ourselves. Instead, we should stop bracing for what's wrong, assume things will work out, and enjoy life. While there may be times where we need to fight or brace, the majority of the time, dropping the sword and embracing life creates room for the good things to enter and for us to enjoy ourselves. Another key lesson is to focus on boundaries rather than balance. Seeking balance can be a never-ending pursuit, while creating healthy boundaries allows us to prioritize our well-being.

    • The Power of Setting Boundaries for a Balanced LifeSetting boundaries based on your values and priorities can help create a sense of balance and improve your overall happiness and satisfaction.

Balance doesn't necessarily mean equal weight in every aspect of life. Seeking balance can actually lead to resentment and dissatisfaction. Instead, focusing on setting boundaries is a more effective approach. Boundaries require self-awareness and prioritization based on what is important to you in each moment. They are not for others, but for yourself. Boundaries help create a sense of balance by allowing everything to fit into your life according to your values. It's important to communicate your boundaries because people cannot read your mind. By setting boundaries, such as putting away your phone when spending time with family, you can be more present and create a better life.

    • The Negative Impact of Phone Snubbing and the Importance of Setting Boundaries.Prioritizing real-life interactions over phone use is crucial for building trust and fostering meaningful connections. Setting boundaries in various aspects of life, like technology and health habits, can lead to positive changes and improved well-being.

Phone snubbing, or fobbing, can lead to feelings of ostracization and distrust among the people around you. Research shows that when you constantly prioritize your phone over real-life interactions, it can create a ripple effect of disconnection and disengagement, even with your loved ones. Setting boundaries with technology can help combat this issue and allow for more present moments with those you care about. Additionally, setting boundaries in other aspects of life, such as health habits, can also lead to positive changes. Creating a boundary with coffee consumption based on scientific research can result in improved gut health, hormonal balance, and increased energy and focus.

    • Embracing Frustration as a Sign of ProgressFrustration indicates growth and the need for change. Use it as a signal to uplevel habits and adjust approaches towards new and better opportunities in various aspects of life.

Frustration is actually a good thing. It's not a sign that something is wrong with you, but rather a sign of growth. When you feel frustrated, it means that you have outgrown some aspect of your life and it's time to make a change. Frustration is a signal that something isn't working anymore and that you need to uplevel your habits or adjust your approach. So, instead of beating yourself up or feeling broken, embrace frustration as a positive sign of progress. Whether it's related to your health, career, relationships, or sense of purpose, remember that frustration is a sign that you're ready for something new and better.

    • Embracing frustration and using it for personal growthFrustration can be an opportunity for growth. Using the three P's method - project, process, and people - can help transform frustration into positive change.

Frustration can be a positive sign of growth. Instead of letting frustration consume you, embrace it as an opportunity to evolve and improve. Mel Robbins suggests using the three P's method: project, process, and people. Treat your frustration as a project and detach yourself from personal emotions. Next, examine the process that is causing frustration and identify what needs to change. Lastly, evaluate the people around you, including yourself, to determine if the frustration stems from outgrowing certain dynamics. By focusing on personal growth, shifting energy, creating space, and adapting processes, you can overcome frustration and continue on a path of progress. Remember that frustration often signifies growth, and it is possible to transform it into a catalyst for positive change.

    • Embracing Frustration as a Sign of Growth and OpportunityFrustration can be a valuable indicator that it's time to upgrade how you work or the systems you use. It's a sign of growth and an opportunity to create new processes that align with your goals.

Frustration can actually be a sign of growth and opportunity. Mel Robbins, a 55-year-old mother of three, shares her journey of launching her own podcast and experiencing both exhilaration and frustration. She emphasizes that when you feel frustrated, it's essential to slow down and not make it personal or punish yourself. Instead, recognize that frustration is an indication that it's time to upgrade how you work or the systems you use. Rather than seeing frustration as a failure, it should be seen as a sign that you are growing. This lesson applies not only in work but also in personal life and developing habits. Take a step back, assess the support and systems you need, and create new processes that align with your goals.

    • Shifting blame and creating intentional change. When faced with frustration, recognize that it may be due to the systems and processes around you. By taking the time to reflect, audit, and create intentional systems, positive transformations can occur within a year.

When faced with frustration or the need for change, it's important to shift the blame from yourself to the systems and processes around you. Instead of considering yourself a failure, recognize that you may have outgrown the systems you rely on. Whether it's in terms of health, habits, or relationships, understand that changing these systems can lead to positive transformations. Give yourself permission to dream big and allow a generous timeframe of a year for change to take place. Take the time to reflect, audit, and learn from the past in order to create intentional systems and processes that will support your desired changes. Remember, your whole life can change in a year.

    • Transform Your Year Through Reflection and IntentionBy taking the time to reflect, set intentions, and embrace frustration as an opportunity for growth, you can achieve remarkable progress and make this year your best one yet.

Taking the time to reflect on your life, learn from your experiences, and set clear intentions can lead to a transformative year. By slowing down and using tools like workbooks, you can tap into your own wisdom and gain clarity on what you truly want and why. Sharing this process with loved ones can deepen the experience and create more space for happiness. It's important to embrace frustration as a natural part of growth and see it as an opportunity for learning. By committing to personal growth and staying connected with a supportive community, you can achieve remarkable progress in just 12 months. Remember, you are loved, believed in, and have the ability to make this year your best one yet.

I don't know about you, but my mind can become overwhelmed with the last-minute details. Making sure I have everything on my list only to find that one will not arrive as it's undeliverable.

Oh, but it does matter. You matter!

Be careful not to wrap yourself up in the pessimistic side of the holidays. You don't want to be the Grinch. Green does not look good on you.

We have to believe. We have to be willing to walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7

The K.I.S.S. ~ Walk by faith not by sight!

You have so much to give the world. Your talents go far beyond what you can even imagine.

Sometimes it's easy to wrap ourselves up in others' dreams and forget our own.

But you don't have to. Take it from the Wisemen. They followed the star to find the baby who was born in Bethlehem. And then, they were willing to make changes to accomplish the goal at hand. They didn't have all the answers when they started out on their journey. The road on camels by faith and didn't rely only on what they saw, except for the star.

You can walk by faith not by sight when you ....

    1. Look to God for guidance. Don't take the journey on your own.
    2. Know that God goes before you. No matter what you will face on the journey, God will direct your path. You are not alone.
    3. Walk by faith. Don't overthink. Don't let overwhelm become your middle name. Make adjustments as needed. Change is a blessing. And when God's got you, you have nothing to fear.

"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy...." ~ Luke 2:10

This is your season to light the world you touch with your gifts and talents.

This is the day that the Lord has made.

1261 A Peek into Your Heart

1261 A Peek into Your Heart

Once in a while, it's important to pause and reflect inwardly. A peek into your heart reveals where you've been and where you are going. But what about where you are now?

Life gets so blown out of proportion. Running in circles to keep up with the busyness just to fit in where the world dictates you to go.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACThttp://facebook.com/groups/thewomenofimpact

But how much of your life is living your purpose?

I can't help but think that so many are leaving their dreams and what they long for because they are out of touch.

A peek into your heart --- exactly what God ordered.

A time to pause and reflect what you have been through. The pain you felt. The druthers of every day responsibilities. The questions of whether or not you will make it through the day.

In that reflection, you will find that you did it. You made it to the next day.

*****SPONSORED BY: Health, Hope and Inspiration Podcast with Rev. Percy McCray https://healthhopeandinspiration.com created by Cancer Treatment Centers of America®.

So what's really holding you back from living your purpose? Not everything crumbles in one day.

What keeps knocking on the door of your heart and distracting what God is placing before you?

It's not easy to stay focused and driven by all the messiness you go through daily, good or bad.

If only an overnight cream would blur away the wrinkles of shame, disappointment, frustration, and hurt felt and lived.

    A peek into your heart.

    What would your heart say?

    • Broken and hurting.
    • Wishing for something more.
    • Dreading the sunrise of the next day, because only more struggles are on the other side.
    • Hopeful, but completely worn out.

Cries of the heart heard loudly.

God hears you. But God has not abandoned you.

You might be filling your day and time with stuff that clutters the airways to heaven. Maybe you have what it takes, but are missing how God wants you to put it all together; mind, body, and spirit.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." ~ Jeremiah 29:11

    What are the plans?

What do you keep running back to wishing you had something much more?

The K.I.S.S. ~ Peek into your heart!

God doesn't keep a secret. It's just a matter of making time for Him so He can share His plans with you.

Maybe it's getting up a little earlier to take a longer shower. Love the showerspirations!!

Maybe it's getting back into the word where God has been calling you.

Maybe it's letting go of the old, and welcoming in the new with no expectations.

Maybe it's being you, all tattered, worn, rugged, and letting the tears roll down your cheeks and allowing God to embrace you right where you are.

Feel His presence everywhere you go. Let Him peek into your heart!

A heavenly hug here on earth!

May your day be filled with heavenly joy. May your challenges fade into the sunset. Let God warm your heart and set you on the path to eternal bliss!

"Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"

"God chose to make a people, not just isolated individuals." ~ Bonnie Kristian

Quotes and statements within the interview:

"That we are more exposed to new ideas and new religious ideas and political ideas at a faster rate than we use to be."

"Our friend bartered for it (the guinea pig)."

"They're great animals for a writer."

"Did I really do it right the first time?"

"It pushed as well to think seriously about like what do I mean when I say I'm a Christian, and how is that going to direct my life going forward."

"I did not know much and I think that's unfortunate."

"We disagreed too much with these other churches on theology stuff."

"It's really remarkable, I think, and such a challenge to look at what people have sacrificed for their faith."

"We need to know more about our history to get a better idea of how different the church has always been so that we are not troubled when we see how different it is today."

"The church has had room for these disagreements while still following Jesus together."

"For some people, and generally it tends to be younger people, when they hear flexible, they think like oh that's a good thing; that means there's going to be room for me."

"...bringing a journalistic ether to it of trying to report things thoroughly and even with the viewpoints I very much disagree with."

"Obviously, we don't want to devalue truth just so we can cooperate, right?"

"We need to not let our own like disagreements and ego get in the way."

    "Don't freak out!"

"As churches, it's super important for us to cultivate an atmosphere in which those kind of questions and research and exploration can happen without setting an artificial timeline of it."

What has your story gifted you?

    • Faith development
    • Learn from other Christian traditions that are not our own

"Having lived in different places and experienced different churches that has really been a major factor in pushing me to write this book and helping me to see the need for it."

    1308 Anxious for Nothing

    1308 Anxious for Nothing

As the seasons change, new beginnings are on the horizon. And that gives opportunity for fear, anxiety, and chaos to harbor your mind. Be anxious for nothing and live with joy.

Your circumstances and seasons do not define your outlook on life, or at least they should not. As the wind begins to change direction, so your mind must stay fixed on the truth.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. http://bit.ly/WomenofIMPACT

The school year is about to begin. You might be working on some new projects in your life. Don't be overwhelmed by the earthly chaos.

My Gman and I were shopping for last minute school necessities and prepping for my oldest son to come and visit.

He begin to question about all the new stuff, schedules, and even what he's going to be when he grows up.

"Mom, you know how God prepares a way and He as a plan for our lives. How do I know what He wants me to do?" ~ Gman

You could just hear it in his voice. The more he talked, the more anxious he became. He has 5 years until high school graduation. It's not like he is going out into the workforce tomorrow.

As the wind begins to change direction, so your mind must stay fixed on the truth.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:6-7

The K.I.S.S. ~ Pray, listen, and watch!

    1. Pray without ceasing. Include God in your daily life. Don't call on Him only during the tough times. Be grateful in the tough and the joyful times.
    2. Listen and discern God's desires verses your wants.
    3. Watch with an open mind and heart. Don't make assumptions before anything happens.

When you are searching for what God wants for you, be willing to hear God with no contingencies. Let God do the heavy lifting.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." ~ Philippians 4:13

1086 Everything Beautiful In Its Time

1086 Everything Beautiful In Its Time

Today is the last day of the year. Are you doing anything differently than the day before? You realize God has made everything beautiful in its time.

The time you may not comprehend, as our days do not equal the days God sees.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. http://facebook.com/groups/thewomenofimpact

Take a deep breath. Where does God have you today?

    How has God challenged you?

Has God made you mad this year? Maybe even cry buckets of tears.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." ~ Ecclesiastes 3:11

But what we see could be more pain or hurt.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Rejoice in all the blessings!

Today, rejoice in all the blessings.

    • The challenges that grow you.
    • The mistakes that heal you.
    • The love that protects you.

Some moments we can feel very alone and isolated. No one understands me. No one has been where I've walked.

    God has!

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all thing have become new." ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17

You are ringing in the new year as a new you! God washes away your past, and creates in you the now; your present, preparing each step for your future.

He has made everything beautiful in its time.

What were those beautiful times for you?

REFLECTION: The back to all of your blessings! The good, the bad, and the ugly.

"Be grateful for what was and what is to come!" ~ Kristianne Wargo

"He made everything beautiful in its time!"
