    • Starting your day with alpha brainwavesExperiencing alpha brainwaves in the morning can lead to increased positivity, better decision making, and improved mental and emotional health. Allow yourself time to quietly wake up and let your mind meander to experience these brainwaves.

Starting your day in a relaxed and focused state can lead to better brain function and improved overall well-being. Kate Cocker, from Everyday Positivity, discusses the importance of allowing yourself time in the morning to experience alpha frequency brainwaves. These brainwaves are associated with a quiet and creative state of mind, and can help you have a great idea or make better decisions. To experience these brainwaves, try not to rush out of bed in the morning, but instead allow yourself time to quietly wake up and let your mind meander. This simple practice can lead to increased positivity, better decision making, and overall improved mental and emotional health. Additionally, Kate encourages listeners to join her guided journaling session with cognitive neuroscientist, Dr. Linda Shaw, to learn more about getting a great night's sleep and addressing personal struggles in a supportive community. Overall, taking small steps to prioritize your mental and emotional well-being can lead to big improvements in your daily life.

EP 30: Lou Coghlan: It's Not About Me, It's About Us.

I had the most beautiful discussion with Lou, known for her community 'living and laughing with Lou' which she started with her adored Granny Nancy (who lived to 107 years). Lou talks about how she started this online community as a way to connect and stay close at a time when we were told to stay away. Lou documented her time with Granny Nancy during the covid pandemic, and what started as fun has led Lou to find her purpose — helping people known they are not alone and preparing them for the fragility of life.

We delve deep into the heartbreak of grief: something we are both very familiar with. This discussion was healing for me & I've no doubt it will be for all of you too. Lou has a warm presence and is so genuine in what she says.
