Beware of THE SHORTCUT... DO THE WORK - Day 193

    enFebruary 10, 2017

    Podcast Summary

    • Desire for shortcuts in life often leads to disappointmentInstead of relying on shortcuts, focus on putting in the effort, learning, and growing for long-term success.

People are often drawn to shortcuts in life, whether it's in their personal or professional pursuits. This desire for quick fixes is prevalent in various industries, from diet and finance to marketing and dating. However, these shortcuts often don't deliver the promised results and can even leave us in a worse position. For instance, in the marketing world, there are numerous apps, plug-ins, and services that claim to solve all your problems with just a click. But most of these are junk, offering nothing new and sometimes even implementing sleazy tactics. These shortcuts not only fail to deliver but can also negatively impact your reputation. So, instead of relying on shortcuts, focus on putting in the effort, learning, and growing from the experience to achieve long-term success.

    • Aggressive marketing tactics can harm business reputationUsing questionable marketing tactics can damage consumer trust and negatively impact business reputation, making it challenging to regain lost trust.

Using questionable marketing tactics, such as sleazy apps and aggressive selling, can negatively impact your business reputation and trust with consumers. These tactics, while potentially profitable, can lead to a loss of trust that is difficult to regain. Reputation is built slowly over time and can be destroyed quickly. Aggressive marketing techniques like upselling and mental trickery can purge the trust bathtub, making it challenging to refill. Marketers and business owners employ these tactics because they work financially, but their morality is subjective. It's essential to consider the long-term consequences on your business's reputation and the potential damage to consumer trust. Instead, focus on building genuine relationships with your audience through honest and transparent communication.

    • The allure of shortcuts can hinder progressBe cautious of shortcuts, focus on learning and doing things the right way for long-term benefits

Relying too heavily on shortcuts, whether in farming, business, personal life, physical fitness, or financial future, can lead to wasted time, money, and even set us back instead of moving us forward. It's important to be mindful of the allure of quick fixes and instead focus on learning and doing things the right way. This may require more effort and time upfront, but the long-term benefits are worth it. Remember, there's no magic pill, device, app, or software package that can guarantee success on its own. Instead, be cautious of shortcuts and embrace the journey of learning and growth. As the saying goes, "Rome wasn't built in a day," and neither will your future success. So, do the work, be thankful, and stay focused on your goals.

Next time you want to blame someone else for being ____ ask yourself - what did I do about it?  We are quick to blame others when we could have done more or done things differently.  It's often partially our own fault, more than we would like to admit. Admit it and be better.

Luck Versus Faith, with Andy Frisella - MFCEO101

Too many people attribute other people's success to luck. They don't really believe that hard work and persistence are the reasons that people do great things in life. They don't have faith in the process of execution. The first view of life allows you to sit on your ass and make excuses. The other view demands that you act and trust the process. The view that you hold determines the person that you are and the success you will enjoy in life.

failure (part 1: failing as a human being)

failure (part 1: failing as a human being)
hi. for the next two episodes i'm going to be doing a little two part series about failure. i wanted to do this because i think it's really easy to forget that failing in anything in life doesn't define you. it doesn't make you a permanently evil person, it doesn't make you a permanent loser or a permanent idiot. failing actually has a crucial role in becoming a better you in all areas of life. i think a lot of us know that, but it's easy to forget. so today i want to remind you, and talk about failing as a human being...about personal failure to yourself and others. we'll go over types of personal failure, the lessons we learn from failure, how to handle it and move on from it, failure in relationships and more.
