Choosing Horse Poop over The Office - You Have a Choice.. DO THE WORK - Day 117

    enNovember 22, 2016

    Podcast Summary

    • Fear of losing job can be a blessing in disguiseDon't let fear of uncertainty hold you back from pursuing your passion, as regret of not taking a risk may be greater.

Fear of losing a job or the security it provides can be paralyzing for many people. However, if you don't enjoy your current job, losing it could be a blessing in disguise. It presents an opportunity to pursue what you're passionate about and take control of your own destiny. Fear is often disguised as practicality, but those who have taken risks and gone after their dreams have never regretted it. On the contrary, most people regret not having taken those risks. A year ago, I spoke to a lawyer who encouraged me to pursue my passion despite the fear of uncertainty. He shared that he regretted not having done the same in his own career. The fear of not taking a shot often outweighs the regret of taking one that doesn't work out.

    • Following your passion can lead to great rewardsPursuing your passions and taking risks can lead to a successful and fulfilling life, despite initial doubts and challenges.

Following your passion and taking risks, even if it means leaving a stable and well-paying job, can lead to great rewards. The story of the young lawyer who broke off from a prestigious firm to start his own firm serves as a powerful reminder of this. Despite the initial doubts and fears, he was able to build a successful business and live the life he wanted. Similarly, the email from a customer expressing appreciation for the speaker's work highlights the importance of doing what you love and the impact it can have on others. It's important to remember that the path to success may not always be easy or straightforward, but with determination and a clear sense of purpose, it is possible to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.

    • You always have a choiceRemember that you have the power to make decisions about your life and career, even if it's not easy or immediate, and don't let fear or complacency hold you back.

No matter what situation we find ourselves in, we always have a choice. John Doe's decision to leave a high-paying job to shovel horse poop and raise a family is a powerful reminder of this. Many people forget that they have the power to make decisions about their lives and careers, often settling for jobs that don't fulfill them because they need money right away. But it's essential to remember that we're not trees, and if we're unhappy with our current circumstances, we have the ability to make changes. It may not be easy, and it may not happen right away, but by working towards our goals and staying focused on what we want, we can eventually exercise our choice. So, if you're feeling stuck in a job or life situation that you don't love, remember that you always have a choice. It's up to you to make it happen. Don't let fear or complacency hold you back. You have the power to create the life you want.

What Did You Do About It?

Next time you want to blame someone else for being ____ ask yourself - what did I do about it?  We are quick to blame others when we could have done more or done things differently.  It's often partially our own fault, more than we would like to admit. Admit it and be better.

Tête-à-tête with Kathy McLead, Creator of Stay at Home Mom Entrepreneur

Tête-à-tête with Kathy McLead, Creator of Stay at Home Mom Entrepreneur

Kathy McLead is the creator of Stay at Home Mom Entrepreneur: the proven framework for creating a highly profitable business that you love while working 2 hours a day.

Kat started as an exotic dancer, later a dominatrix, where she realized her marketing skills but hated the work and eventually decided to come out of it and go to graduate school.

She started her first multiple 6 figure business 20 years ago, and hasn’t slowed down since — not even after having kids. A fun fact: That business’s profits meant that she had way more money than her husband when they first got married and was able to pay the entire $450,000 down payment on their home. Not that he minded!

She fully planned on being a pampered Stay at Home Mom, but once her son began preschool, and she actually had ME time again for the first time in years, she became restless. So she came out of “retirement” and started coaching her friends just to give her a little extra buzz.

Since then, she’s helped numerous Stay at Home Moms find fulfillment and independent income outside of motherhood all while staying Mom first.

AND that’s how she developed THE ONLY BUSINESS FRAMEWORK specifically designed for a BUSY MOM.

In this episode, Kat discusses her unusual initial career & her current success helping Moms start their businesses.
