    enJuly 15, 2023

    Podcast Summary

    • Newcomer Chris shows patience and understanding towards podcast mistakeDespite a scheduling error, newcomer Chris demonstrates empathy and impresses with his focus on preventative health and community building.

Chris, despite being a newcomer to their podcast connection, showed understanding and patience towards another's mistake. Chris was apologetic for forgetting their scheduled podcast due to his busy life as a father. He discovered Chris's Twitter page and was impressed with his messages promoting health and wellness for dads. Chris shared his background in physical therapy and how he and his brother transitioned from the traditional healthcare system to focusing on preventative health and building a community to help others do the same. The conversation touched on the importance of prioritizing health during the pandemic and the need to move away from the sickness agenda towards a focus on staying healthy. Chris expressed his concern about the negative impact of the pandemic and saw it as an opportunity for personal growth and improvement.

    • Men's self-care extends beyond physical healthMen can improve relationships, mental and emotional resilience, and become better community members through self-care, focusing on physical fitness and seeking support when needed.

Prioritizing self-care for men goes beyond just physical health. It's a foundational step towards becoming better husbands, fathers, and community members. The speakers emphasized their personal experiences of transformation through health improvement, which led to improved relationships and a desire to empower other men. They believe that men, especially those who feel disadvantaged or undervalued, should strive to be strong, kind, and caring individuals. By focusing on physical fitness, men can also enhance their mental and emotional resilience, enabling them to better cope with stress and be more present in their families and communities. The speakers encourage men to engage in activities that foster connection, such as exercising and playing sports, and to seek support when needed. Ultimately, their mission is to inspire men to take responsibility for their lives and make a positive impact on their families and communities.

    • Provide opportunities for success and prioritize self-care for menStabilize blood sugar levels by making meals consistent and nutritious to improve energy and overall well-being, reducing the need for unhealthy snacking.

Helping men overcome isolation and improve their self-belief involves providing opportunities for success and prioritizing self-care. A key aspect of this is stabilizing blood sugar levels throughout the day to avoid energy crashes and improve overall well-being. This can be achieved by making breakfast and lunch more consistent and nutritious, reducing the need for unhealthy snacking later in the day. By taking the guesswork out of meals and establishing a reliable system, men can feel good and have more energy to engage in family and work life, ultimately breaking free from the "rat race" and finding more balance.

    • Personalized approaches for managing diabetes type 2Find sustainable practices that fit individual lifestyles for effective diabetes management, enjoy food, consider workout schedules, and seek community support.

Effective diet and lifestyle management for conditions like diabetes type 2 involves personalized approaches. The speaker shared his experience of gradually increasing his fasting hours and having one meal a day, emphasizing the importance of enjoying the food and considering workout schedules. He also stressed the importance of community support, as having peers to lean on and learn from can be a powerful motivator. Similarly, in healthcare, connecting patients with those who have gone through similar experiences can provide inspiration and hope during challenging times. The key is to find sustainable practices that fit individual lifestyles, rather than aiming for perfection.

    • Focus on natural, whole foods and stress management for optimal health and weight lossConsume whole foods, particularly high in protein, limit processed foods, manage stress through activities like journaling, morning walks, and breath work for long-term success in health and weight loss

For optimal health and weight loss, focus on consuming natural, whole foods, particularly high in protein, and limit processed foods. Additionally, managing stress is crucial for effective weight loss and overall metabolic health. Gradual changes to your eating habits and incorporating stress management practices can lead to long-term success. The speaker emphasizes avoiding factory-made foods and sugary drinks, and encourages trying activities like journaling, morning walks, and breath work for stress relief. Remember, the goal is sustainability and finding what works best for you.

    • Taking quiet moments for self-reflection and reducing stressPractice self-reflection, find quiet moments, reduce stress through nature, ensure quality sleep for better overall health

Taking time for self-reflection and reducing stress are crucial for overall well-being. The speaker shares his personal experience of finding quiet moments during his daily routine to think and breathe, away from constant information intake. He emphasizes the physical and mental effects of stress, including increased cortisol levels and insulin resistance, which can lead to serious health issues. The importance of sleep is also highlighted, as poor quality sleep can result in a lack of energy and motivation during the day. To improve overall health, the speaker suggests practicing self-reflection, reducing stress through quiet moments and nature, and ensuring quality sleep.

    • Small changes for better sleep lead to improved health and energyTaking magnesium supplements, maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, prioritizing sleep, and addressing sleep issues can lead to better health, increased energy, weight loss, and reduced stress.

Optimizing sleep quality can significantly improve overall health and well-being. Small changes, such as taking magnesium supplements before bed or maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, can lead to better sleep and increased energy levels. These adjustments do not require a significant time investment but can have a big impact on one's life. Additionally, prioritizing sleep can help with weight loss and may even lead to a reduction in stress. The importance of sleep should not be underestimated, and making it a priority can lead to numerous benefits. Furthermore, older adults may find that addressing sleep issues can help with age-related concerns, such as nighttime urination. Consistently waking up early and getting sunlight exposure can also help reset the circadian rhythm and promote better sleep at night.

    • Caring for your gut during sleepThe gut is a muscle that needs rest, and lack of quality sleep can hinder the body's healing process, leading to various health issues. Prioritize sleep and ensure it's of good quality to support gut health and overall wellbeing.

Sleep hygiene goes beyond just creating a conducive environment for sleep. It also involves giving your body, specifically your gut, a chance to rest and recover. The gut is a muscle that needs to take a break, and if it's working hard, it can make it difficult for the whole body to go to sleep. Moreover, during sleep, the body's anabolic hormones, such as growth hormone and melatonin, peak, and the body heals and recovers. Lack of quality sleep can hinder the healing process and lead to various health issues. It's essential to prioritize sleep and ensure that it's of good quality. Additionally, excessive working out without proper recovery can lead to constant tear-down, hindering the progress towards gaining muscle and overall health. Age also plays a role, as the body's ability to handle stress decreases with age. It's crucial to find a balance between working out and recovery to ensure optimal health.

    • Aging and Exercise: Adapting to Changing BodiesFind a balanced and sustainable exercise routine that fits your schedule and individual needs, prioritize morning workouts, and prioritize rest and recovery for optimal performance and productivity.

As we age, our bodies may not recover as quickly from physical activities, especially if we're engaging in high-intensity workouts late in the day. The speaker shares his experience of playing rough sports in his youth and how he can no longer handle the same level of physical activity and late-night workouts as an adult. He also mentions the importance of finding a consistent exercise routine that fits into his schedule and prioritizing morning workouts for increased productivity and energy. Additionally, he emphasizes the importance of proper rest and recovery, as well as incorporating stretching and relaxation techniques to balance out the sympathetic response from strength training. Overall, the key takeaway is to find a balanced and sustainable approach to exercise that works for your individual needs and lifestyle.

    • Incorporate simple movements and reconnect with nature for improved healthWalking daily, reconnecting with nature, and self-care can reduce stress, increase calorie burn, promote metabolic health, and enhance overall well-being.

Incorporating simple, everyday movements, such as walking, into your routine can significantly improve your overall health and well-being. This low-impact activity can help reduce stress, increase calorie burn, and promote metabolic health. Additionally, reconnecting with nature, such as getting outside for morning sunlight, is also essential for optimal health. These foundational practices are often overlooked but can provide immense benefits, surpassing what traditional medicine or expensive health regimens may offer. Remember, self-love, discipline, and appreciation for our bodies are crucial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It's essential to recognize that our bodies are miraculous gifts and that we, as the victors of life, should cherish and care for them.

    • The harmful effects of processed foods and industry profit motivesFocus on whole, organic, and slow-fermented foods for better health and reduce reliance on processed foods driven by convenience and industry profit motives.

The reliance on processed foods, driven by convenience and advertising, can lead to slow harm to our health. This issue is exacerbated by the profit motives behind the food industry, which can result in increased dependency and potential shortages in the future. By focusing on whole, organic, and slow-fermented foods, we can build a foundation for better health and reduce our reliance on a potentially harmful system. When we are fit, strong, and healthy, we are better equipped to question the status quo and make informed choices for our well-being.

    • Breaking free from a system of dependence and poor healthRespect yourself, make healthy choices, connect with like-minded individuals, prioritize mental health for men aged 40-55, pull people out of isolation, establish self-belief, simplify small changes, surround yourself with positivity, and share experiences to inspire and motivate each other.

Self-care and empowerment are crucial for breaking free from a system that profits from dependence and poor health. The speaker emphasizes the importance of respecting oneself, making healthy choices, and connecting with like-minded individuals to improve mental and physical health. For men, mental health is a significant issue, particularly in the age group of 40-55, and the speaker suggests that pulling people out of isolation, establishing self-belief, and simplifying small changes can have a profound impact on their lives. By surrounding oneself with positive influences and sharing experiences, individuals can inspire and motivate each other, ultimately creating a ripple effect that can positively impact their local communities.

    • Connecting with happy, healthy people fuels personal growthSurround yourself with inspiring individuals, practice self-care, and build meaningful connections for a happier, more fulfilling life. Avoid isolation and prioritize relationships over systemic constraints.

To transform your life and make a positive impact on others, it's crucial to avoid isolation and build meaningful connections. Surround yourself with happy, healthy people who inspire and motivate you. The self-care practices, such as nutrition and goal setting, serve as fuel to this transformation. People are naturally drawn to those who are thriving, and this positive reinforcement can help you become more disciplined, focused, and self-confident. However, the healthcare systems in many places, including the US and the UK, can hinder this process by prioritizing efficiency over quality patient care and relationships. This can lead to stressful working conditions and a sense of soul-destroying monotony. To escape this rat race, consider stepping out of the system and focusing on what truly matters to you, even if it means simpler living and lower overheads. Building meaningful connections and living authentically can lead to greater happiness and fulfillment.

    • Focus on authentic connections and independencePrioritize meaningful relationships and independence in healthcare to make a significant impact on patients' lives.

It's essential to prioritize authentic connections and independence in both personal and professional life, especially in healthcare. The speaker emphasized the importance of avoiding negative influences and focusing on creating meaningful relationships, rather than just checking boxes and relying on technology. He also highlighted the significance of being independent from big organizations, as it allows one to maintain their values, ethics, and autonomy. The speaker's personal experience as a healthcare provider showed that taking the time to genuinely connect with patients and listen to their concerns can lead to profound impacts on their lives, proving that everything is interconnected. In essence, the message is to break free from the traditional healthcare system's constraints and focus on building genuine relationships and living an authentic life.

    • Embrace Critical Thinking, Nutrition Planning, and Supportive Communities for Better HealthCritical thinking, nutrition planning, and a supportive community can lead to better health outcomes and a higher quality of life.

Being a critical thinker, focusing on nutrition planning, and surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals are essential for maintaining good health in a world where challenges and misinformation are prevalent. The speaker emphasizes the importance of questioning information, having a plan for nutrition, and being intentional with decisions to overcome obstacles and improve overall well-being. Additionally, finding a supportive community or "tribe" can help individuals stay motivated and committed to their health goals. The speaker's personal experience of meal planning and structured eating and exercise routines highlights the benefits of planning and organization in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Overall, the key takeaway is that being proactive, critical, and intentional in one's approach to health can lead to better outcomes and a higher quality of life.

    • Surround yourself with positive influencesChoosing the right friends and influences can significantly impact our personal growth. Surround yourself with positive and supportive individuals to adopt their traits and make a change.

The importance of choosing the right friends and influences in life. Chris Betcher emphasized that we tend to adopt the traits of those around us, so it's crucial to surround ourselves with positive and supportive individuals who help us grow and improve. Chris and his brother Brett run a program aimed at helping people build sustainable systems and make a change. They can be found on Twitter at @ChrisBetcher9 and on their website, brotheru.com. Their program has yielded impressive results, as evidenced by their testimonials. Chris encouraged listeners to check them out if they're looking for a change and promised to post links to their website and Twitter on his own site. Overall, the conversation highlighted the importance of surrounding ourselves with positive influences and taking steps towards personal growth.

ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION: Please be warned this podcast contains almost 3 hrs of non-stop swearing. Avoid this episode if you will be offended by this. Matt Taylor is a former UK ambulance driver, paramedic and host of the NHS 100K podcast. NHS 100K was set up to represent the over 100 thousand healthcare workers who refused to take the jab and as a consequence risked losing their careers and livelihoods. NHS 100K was one of the most if not THE most instrumental organisations in fighting against the mandates and tyranny. Make no mistake about that. Matt invited me to his show last year but for whatever reason it didn't happen. Life brought our lives back into the same orbit this year in quite a dramatic fashion as you will find out in this episode. I want to thank Sai for helping make this podcast possible. I love Matt and Sai so much and they are brothers for life. I hope you enjoy the episode. Much love Ahmad x Links

ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION: Chris Martenson, PhD (Duke), MBA (Cornell) is an economic researcher specialising in energy and resource depletion, and founder of PeakProsperity.com. We talk about evil and its intention to keep people scared, small, sick, injured, or dead. ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION: After reading Margaret Anna Alice’s work, one can see why the saying “The pen is mightier than the sword” exists. Margaret’s writing has a unique style. It is beautifully lyrical, yet cuts through the bullshit of our time sharper than any Katana. It is incredibly well-researched and distils the truth, removing all impurities of propaganda. I must thank Mike Yeadon for the introduction a couple of months ago. In that short time frame, I have had the pleasure of having several conversations and thinking of her as a sister. There is only a 6-month difference in our age, we are both 80s kids and have so much in common. While Margaret’s prose is a delight to read, so is her poetry. Hearing Margaret recite two of her poems gave me so much pleasure. In this conversation, Margaret shares her journey and discusses how she has become such an incredible Substack writer, what motivates and drives her and her take on the events in recent years. Check out her substack for all her writings. I hope you enjoy this episode. Much love as always Ahmad Links

ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION: For too long, the Covid Plandemic has been a faceless monolith, represented by the media mainly through charts, graphs and confusing numbers. Science was corrupted, people were manipulated on a global scale and statistical jugglery was used to confuse, guide, and misinform. I have read some incredible emails, listened over the phone to amazing minds and beautiful souls, and most importantly I have learnt so much from them. I want to give a voice to these people. Everyone has a story worth telling, and I want to highlight this through this series of podcasts. In this episode, we have Alex from Germany and Yurek from Canada. ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION: Barbara O’Neill is a huge figure in the natural alternative health movement. Barbara states "I am not a healer, I am a teacher. Your body is the healer, and I love to teach whoever is interested, the conditions that allow and encourage this amazing body we live in to do what it has been designed to do .....heal itself!" Barbara has a massive following across the world. Clips of her videos where she advocates natural remedies are shared and viewed by millions across social media. However, Barbara has her detractors who claim she is unqualified, a dangerous misinformation spreader “known for advertising dangerous and unsupported health practices and ideas”. In 2019, the Health Care Complaints Commission in New South Wales ruled that she is prohibited from providing any health-related services following several complaints from the public and health professionals. A subsequent investigation found that she provided dangerous advice to vulnerable patients, such as telling those with cancer to forego prescribed chemotherapy for bicarbonate of soda and to give infants unpasteurised goat's milk. The investigation found that she also had no qualifications in a health-related field and failed to meet the expected standards of unregistered health professionals. But what is the truth? The last few years and my own experience have taught me not to trust the authorities at face value and to question everything. I am also aware that there are always two sides to any story. So I asked Barbara directly about all the allegations and claims against her. I invite you to judge for yourself after hearing her side of the story, not just what is written in Wikipedia or mainstream news. I also asked Barbara about her top tips for staying healthy. See my substack post for further details. I hope you enjoy this episode. Much love Ahmad Links
