    • Identifying and focusing on dreams for a fulfilling lifeReflect on personal goals, relationships, travel, and emotional well-being to make each day meaningful and work towards a fulfilling life

Dreams matter and should be a priority in our lives. As we reflect on the past year and look forward to the future, it's important to identify and focus on what we truly desire. Dreams can range from personal goals, relationships, travel, to emotional well-being. During the journal prompt on Sunday, people shared their dreams for 2024, which included finding peace and joy in unexpected moments, keeping relationships strong, visiting new places, and practicing intention. By being open to wonder and setting aspirations, we can make the most of each day and work towards creating a fulfilling and meaningful life.

    • Exploring the Power of DreamsReflect on your dreams, set goals, and take steps to make them a reality. The new year is a great time to align with your deepest desires and become the best version of yourself.

Dreams are an essential part of our lives and hold significant meaning. They represent our deepest desires and longings, and aligning ourselves with these dreams can help us become the best version of ourselves. Dreams can be physical or ethereal, and they require effort and dedication to achieve. The speaker encourages listeners to reflect on their dreams and consider what steps they can take to make them a reality. The new year is an excellent time to theme and set goals around these dreams, and the speaker plans to explore this topic further in the next episode. Remember, you have the power to make your dreams a reality, and you are enough just as you are.

The Truth About Fear as an Olympic Snowboarder with Shannon Dunn Downing

The Truth About Fear as an Olympic Snowboarder with Shannon Dunn Downing

Ever wondered how Pro Athletes achieve great success and push the limits? Do they feel fear? Find out in Episode 005 of the Vereless N Free podcast as I, Heather Bailey, the podcast host, interview Olympic and X-Games Medalist Snowboarder, Shannon Dunn Downing.

My conversation with Shannon will encourage you to "live your dreams" the way she inspired me after I had to the opportunity to meet her as part of a magazine sweepstakes I won when I was 18 years old! (You'll hear all about that crazy experience in this episode too.)

Shannon shares how pursuing her passion of snowboarding led to her becoming a sponsored rider. She never even dreamed she could become a professional in a sport which, at that time, was so new to the world.

Representing the US in snowboarding's Olympic debut and becoming the first US Snowboarder to take home a medal, she greatly surpassed her dreams. Not to mention her 2 X-Games Gold medals and her spontaneous appearance at a Red Bull Air & Style event in Switzerland going off a 60 ft jump!

Shannon's hard work, determination, focus, and positivity contributed not only to her success in snowboarding, but also to the equality and progression for women in the sport.

Like most athletes, she had to battle injuries along the way and shares some unreal stories that will inspire and make you laugh (like the time she insisted on staying awake during surgery!). During those hard times, she found the love of her Heavenly Father which has led her to become a woman of great faith!

Shannon's current dreams are to publish the book she's writing and to keep the adventures going in her family life with her husband and two sons as they surf, snowboard, fly fish, and dive in their favorite spots.

Shannon will remind you to try that thing you've been thinking about and embrace your failures when they happen. The most exciting dreams are going to have times of difficulty. Roll with it!

#125 - 3RD ANNIVERSARY WITH AUTHOR AND ENTREPRENEUR James Oliver, Jr. - 20171015

Author and Entrepreneur James Oliver, Jr. on the Curve the Cube Podcast

Welcome to the THIRD ANNIVERSARY episode of the Curve the Cube Podcast!! My special guest on this milestone of a day is author and entrepreneur, James Oliver, Jr. of WeMontage, who wrote a book that I absolutely fell in love with and have discussing in pieces with a few of my most recent guests. His book, The More You Hustle, the Luckier You Get, provides a deluge of raw, relatable trials and triumphs that all of us shooting for a dream can find both humor and comfort in.

In this episode, James parses out the difference between being a successful entrepreneur and having a successful business, and we touch back on those concepts I discussed earlier in this series of episodes:

    • Listening to that inner voice and honoring your true self
    • Going out on your own takes effing hard work
    • Keeping the faith
    • "Don't make safe choices in life because it's convenient to do so."

James doesn’t pull any punches and was simply the PERFECT pick to sum up some of the main touch points I’ve been covering all along on this show. So….

    Enjoy!!

And, thank you from the bottom of my heart for listening for these past three years; as you've heard me say on the last couple of episodes, my plan has been to flipping the name of the show from from “Curve the Cube: Where Dreamers Become Doers” to “Dreamers Become Doers: Curve the Cube and Do the Impossible.” But, after a very thoughtful conversation with my mentor, Glenn the Geek from the Horse Radio Network, there is an even BIGGER change that I now have planned for the show and hope you can all get behind. As the coincidence of good timing would have it, Glenn and I will be spending some time together this weekend. So, he’ll join me in recording a fully fleshed-out announcement and explanation of that change. So, be sure to look for that, as it could even be released ahead of the next scheduled release date for the show, which would normally be the first.
