The Strong, but Thin Resistance... DO THE WORK - Day 200

    enFebruary 18, 2017

    Podcast Summary

    • Limiting Beliefs Hinder Personal GrowthRecognize and push past self-imposed limitations to unlock new opportunities and personal growth

Limiting beliefs can significantly hinder personal growth and prevent us from pursuing our desires. For much of their life, the speaker admitted to holding back from doing things they truly wanted due to self-imposed limitations. These beliefs ranged from feeling unworthy, inadequate, or fearing rejection. However, upon reflection, the speaker realized the futility of these beliefs and how they had hindered their experiences. The speaker encourages pushing past the initial resistance and fear that comes with trying something new or scary, as the barrier is strong but thin. Once overcome, these limitations no longer exist, allowing for new opportunities and growth.

    • Overcoming Fear to Embrace Personal GrowthTaking the first step to face your fear can eliminate it and lead to significant personal growth.

Fear can hold us back from trying new things, even if those things have the potential to bring significant personal growth. The speaker shares his experience of overcoming his fear of being on camera by taking the first step and sharing a video on Instagram. To his surprise, this one action eliminated his lifelong fear, and he was able to continue creating videos with ease. Similarly, he was hesitant to start a YouTube channel due to fear of production and potential criticism, but his first video on YouTube was a nervous and disorganized mess. However, the experience of facing his fear on Instagram gave him the confidence to improve and eventually excel on YouTube. This story illustrates the power of taking the first step to overcome fear and the potential for personal growth that comes with it.

    • Overcoming Limiting BeliefsLimiting beliefs, rooted in fear, can significantly impact our lives, but with determination and effort, they can be overcome, leading to fewer regrets and more opportunities for growth.

Limiting beliefs, though powerful in our minds, are inherently weak. They are often rooted in fear and can significantly impact our lives. However, with a determined effort to push through the initial resistance, we can overcome these beliefs and move forward. The process may require some effort, but the rewards are significant. Once we've faced and overcome our fears, they no longer hold power over us. This principle is crucial, and if applied consistently, it can lead to a life filled with fewer regrets and more opportunities for growth. Remember, the resistance may seem strong, but it's thin, and once you push through it, it disappears. So, the next time you feel scared or hesitant to try something new, remind yourself that the fear is just a thin veil of resistance. With a little courage and determination, you can break through it and unlock new possibilities.

Next time you want to blame someone else for being ____ ask yourself - what did I do about it?  We are quick to blame others when we could have done more or done things differently.  It's often partially our own fault, more than we would like to admit. Admit it and be better.

What Every Teenager Needs to Hear Right Now

Today's episode of the GaryVee Audio Experience is a GaryVee Video Experience classic! Every teacher I had in school said I would be a loser. I’m not mad at them for thinking that … it was just the time I grew up in. If you didn’t have good grades, you weren’t going to make it in life. But I knew who I was. I knew that I was a businessman, so I decided to “punt” school and focus on doing what I loved. In this episode, I talk more about the advice I have for kids and teenagers going through the school environment today
