    Podcast Summary

    • Question the reality of negativity and criticismRecognize that negativity and criticism don't define our truth, and asking what's real can help us gain perspective and solid ground

During moments of negativity or criticism, it's essential to question the reality of the situation. Just because someone has said something about you or your brain has thought it, doesn't automatically make it true. Emotional responses like anger, fear, anxiety, or tears can cloud our judgment, but asking what is real here? What is factually happening? Can help us gain objective perspective and solid ground. Remember, negativity and criticism are never pleasant, but recognizing that they don't define our truth can help us navigate through them.

Perspective Guides, Drives, and Changes Us

Perspective Guides, Drives, and Changes Us

The “P” in P.R.A.Y.E.R. represents Perspective. It’s about having the right focus and filter in which we pray. Whatever our perspective is it guides, drives, and changes us. It affects our attitudes and the way we pray. In this episode, Jodi shares a fresh prayer perspective. In addition, she shares how God brought her to a verse He used nearly 20 years ago to confirm a calling. Listen in as she shares from God’s word and her heart.

Below are a few scriptures referenced in this episode:

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are My ways higher than  your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8-9)

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

“The Lord upholds all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down. The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.  He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him He also will hear their cry and save them.  The Lord preserves all who love Him, but all the wicked He will destroy.  My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and all flesh shall bless His holy name, forever and ever.” (Psalm 145:14-21, NKJV)

    Perfectionism | Ep #31

    Perfectionism | Ep #31

Perfection is a myth, yet so many of us think that we should be perfect to be acceptable and loveable. We can easily fall into being over-achievers or under-achievers, both as veils to hide our perceived insecurities and flaws.

This kind of thinking stifles our own development, and keeps us from developing real, vulnerable relationships with others where we allow ourselves to be seen. We may also block our own ability to really see others as they are.

In this episode, you’ll learn if you are a perfectionist (you may be surprised by some of the ways perfectionism rears its head!), how it is affecting you and your loved ones, and you'll be provided clear tools that will help you grow in your capacity to love yourself in your imperfections.
