2 Chicks and a Mic: You know for you! Pt 2

2 Chicks and a Mic: You know for you! Pt 2

2 Chicks and a Mic are back in the housssee!!!! This is part 2 of 2 episodes.

My gal Salome Valdez and I have a two part episode for you ya and like always, we talk about tools that can help us with our clear awareness regarding our choices in life.

Salome brought up a really good topic. It started with a quote that she found on social media that said “My love language is reminding you of your power.” Pretty good quote but it also gives a bit of a seniority vibe. Sometimes when we try to help others we tempt to not be aware of the seniority we show.

Helping others can be like a rock in the middle of a stream. The stream flows through and the rock is sitting there… not being bothered. Yes, I know you might be confused! But listen in and laugh with us because not only do we get serious in this episode, we bring up a few “aha” moments that you might relate to.

IN THIS EPISODE, I TALK ABOUT:

    • Allowance of others making their choices without it affecting you.
    • You know yourself more than anyone else.
    • Creating power by letting go.
    • You can destroy to create more.

If you loved this episode, it would mean the world to me if you SUBSCRIBED to the podcast on your favorite podcast app and give it a 5 star review. I would be forever grateful! Thank you!!

How Music and Creativity Improve Mental Health: Across the Pond with T.I.M.E.

How Music and Creativity Improve Mental Health: Across the Pond with T.I.M.E.

Does music and creativity play a large role in your life? Or, are you looking for new ways to improve your mental health? This is the show for you.

We are joined by Mike Barnes of T.I.M.E- an Essex based music charity focussing on developing the lives of those with disabilities and long-term mental health issues.

Throughout their work within the Basildon community, they have created a range of music-based workshops and classes such as therapeutic and sensory based relaxation sessions, Songwriting workshops, instrument tuition and classes that target the importance of musical skill, confidence, and motor and speech development.

One member who has benefitted from T.I.M. E’s services is Gary, a man who suffers with autism and has had previous struggles with alcoholism and homelessness, who has now turned his life around and fronts his own band Caged Arts, holding shows and gigging around the country.

Having most recently performed in ‘Autisms Got Talent’ with his band, Gary has spent the last 7 years working with T.I.M.E and now even helps to assist the workshops and classes, he’s a real product of how effective these charities can be for individuals and so thought it could be an inspiring story to share.

Meet Our Guest: Picking up an instrument opened a whole new world for me. It gave me a passion, a purpose, it led me to meeting some of the most amazing people that have remained my closest friends until today, it gave me confidence, an emotional release, and something to be proud of.

From Solving Special Needs to a Thriving Food Brand - BeeFree | EP. #30

On this 30th episode of The E-Comm Show, our host and BlueTuskr CEO Andrew Maff is with Jennifer, CEO of BeeFree Gluten-Free Bakery. The truth is, Jennifer never saw herself as an entrepreneur before, not until her eldest son was diagnosed with autism and she found herself on a new path. Due to her son’s special dietary needs, Jennifer started looking for healthy food alternatives, which is how she found gluten-free foods. However, gluten-free snacks are typically bland so she started working in the kitchen, recreating favorite family recipes and the rest is history!

Twelve years later, here she is in a thriving food brand still consistently delivering healthy gluten-free treats while helping non-profit organizations and creating jobs for adults with autism.

Magic Tools That Will Help You Get Back Up!

Magic Tools That Will Help You Get Back Up!

Lean into what it is that you’re feeling. Because when you lean out…you separate yourself from you.

This show is all about the magic tools that I use when I fall and need to get back up. I lean into what it is that’s going on. I get curious and ask a question. And then I lean into my awareness and remain open to my awareness.

I invite you to be open and not answer the questions you ask when you get curious. Listen for the feather touches and see what comes up. Watch how your world will shift and begin to slowly (or quickly) get easier and you’ll be able to get back up with ease.

IN THIS EPISODE, I TALK ABOUT:

    • I invite you to be open and not answer the questions you ask when you get curious.
    • How these magic tools are different from other advice you’ve been given before.
    • What can you do if you wake up today and your world gets flipped upside down.
    • Lean into what it is that you’re feeling.

If you loved this episode, it would mean the world to me if you SUBSCRIBED to the podcast on your favorite podcast app and give it a 5 star review. I would be forever grateful! Thank you!!

    01: Welcome To Our Podcast

We are SO excited to start this podcast and share more of our life with all of you!

It has become so important to us to empower more parents to travel with their kids - whether they traveled before kids or not. We learned through many of our own friends asking questions that they didn’t know they could still travel with kids or how to make it happen.

We are also sharing tons of information about our toddler's diagnosis with autism because so many parents have asked us questions - whether it's to understand better or because they are going through something similar with their child.

We decided to create a podcast because we know many of the parents following us are busy and don't always have time to read long blog posts.  Now you can catch all of our content on the go (but don't worry, it'll still be on the blog too) because let’s be honest, that’s our reality most days.

What do sport and autism mean to each other?

What do sport and autism mean to each other?

It might seem unlikely to have a strong bond between autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and sport. Yet, this episode shows that there can be a mutually beneficial relationship between the two. Today I am in conversation with Adam Millichip, sports teacher at Tettenhall Wood School in Wolverhampton in the UK.

We discuss how important both watching sport and playing sport, where possible, is to a lot of students with ASD. As evidence of this, Adam helped some of his students, including Abtar and Tom (pictured above), set up a podcast where they interview famous sportspeople! While providing wonderful and unique content for avid sports fans and podcast listeners such as myself, Adam explains how this project has helped his students improve their confidence, communication, and social skills.

You can find their podcast at podpage.com/tws-sports-podcast. This is a wonderful project by some special people, and I hope you enjoy the episode.

Is Asking for Reciprocated Love "Being Manipulative"?

Is Asking for Reciprocated Love "Being Manipulative"?

The following episode contains sensitive topics including mental health, depression, and sexual assault. Listeners' discretion is advised.

One morning, Micah was scrolling through TikTok when all of a sudden, he bumps into a content creator where they discussed the concept of "no one owes anyone anything" and how whenever people ask for their love to be reciprocated, they end up being demonized and accused of it by being called 'narcissistic' and 'manipulative'. And in this episode, he opens up about his personal experiences about the hardships of building and maintaining relationships while also questioning the idea of whether or not holding someone accountable when a relationship becomes one-sided is a bad thing. He also goes more in-depth on how he navigates relationships through mental illness and how it plays a huge role in how he sees people as well as the world around him.
