Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost with Brad Tarnowsky

Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost with Brad Tarnowsky

In this Millennial Reset podcast interview, my guest Brad shares his journey of making the leap from the 9-5 and rat race, to pursuing his passions through creating a community of like-minded individuals.  I think Brad's story is a perfect example of what can happen when we let go of some of the societal norms that keep us glued to the same path for much of our careers.

Brad discussed the beliefs he had to overcome and the sacrifices he made in order to start doing more of what brings him joy.  Brad now brings his gifts and joy to others who may be feeling a bit lost through his online Twitch community.  It's a safe space for all to join, to at least realize that they are not alone!

You can check out Brad's Twitch channel and become a fellow wanderer here: https://www.twitch.tv/search?term=bluewanderer748.

The Journey from Stimulus Overload to Stimulus Detox with Karolina Johansson

The Journey from Stimulus Overload to Stimulus Detox with Karolina Johansson

In this episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Karolina shares her story of what it was like to move from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles (population 11 million), to the town that she was raised in Sweden (population 400).

Karolina discusses what it was like to go from the stimulus and information overload of living in the US, and keeping up in the rat race, to spending her days getting to know her neighbors, reconnecting with nature and her heritage, and remodeling the house that she had made so many childhood memories in.

She also shares the vulnerable story of how the passing of her grandparents created a heightened awareness and accountability for her own mental health, and fueled the drive to make a big leap (across the big pond).

Making the Shift from the Hustle to Slower, Conscious Living with Luisa Batiz

Making the Shift from the Hustle to Slower, Conscious Living with Luisa Batiz

In this inspiring episode of The Millennial Reset, my guest Luisa shares her story of the moment that she knew a change was necessary, and leaving behind her successful corporate recruiter lifestyle in New York to move to an eco-friendly farm in Honduras.

Luisa discusses how the feelings of discontentment continued to grow as she climbed the corporate ladder of the corporate world, and then one day, she decided that she was ready to make the leap.  Luisa now spends her days living a much slower-paced life in coastal Honduras, while also freelancing on the side.  She runs an eco-bnb in beautiful Honduras, where she provides the space and quietness for others to go and disconnect to get back in touch with your authentic identity.

The beliefs that so many millennials hold that our level of worth comes from our level of productivity is simply a belief, instilled in us based on our childhood and growing up.  Luisa's story is the perfect example of what other possibilities exist when we decide to do the inner work of deconditioning from the limiting, sabotaging beliefs that keep so many of us stuck in the rat race.

You can learn more about Luisa's off-grid eco-sanctuary in Honduras as https://nuguchu.com.  You can also find Luisa on TikTok at https://www.tiktok.com/@sexy_sustainability.

Moving Beyond Doubt and Creating Impact Through Your Passions with Stephanie Davis

Moving Beyond Doubt and Creating Impact Through Your Passions with Stephanie Davis

In this inspiring episode of The Millennial Reset, Stephanie Davis shares her inspirational story of taking the leap from the comfort and security of a 9-5 in order to create an impact on her community through her passion of theater.

Stephanie's story is a perfect example of what can happen when you choose to use your passions to create meaningful impact in your community.  Using her passion for theater, Stephanie opened a non-profit theater and art program for at-risk students in her small town in Missouri.

By letting go of the narratives around fear of failure and self-doubt, Stephanie is now living out her most true and authentic identity that's based on her own dreams and goals, as opposed to what society expects.

Rediscovering Your Authentic Identity with Sarah Plaisted

Rediscovering Your Authentic Identity with Sarah Plaisted

In this episode of The Millennial Reset, Sarah shares her story of waking back up to her true, authentic identity and passions.  Sarah's millennial burnout and reset story is one that many of us might be familiar with.  She had a great job and team, but there was something missing- happiness.  And there was that nagging feeling that wasn't going anywhere, that she was meant for so much more than the job title that was defining her identity.  So Sarah chose to take the leap into her passions and inner child dreams, to pursue Reiki healing.  Sarah's story is a prime example of what can happen when we do the inner work of getting to know our inner child again, and to choose soul over ego.

Dr. Michael Amster | How AWE and micro-dosing mindfulness can help manage burnout and exhaustion

In this episode, I chat with Michael Amster, the co-author of one of my fave new books, The Power of Awe.

Michael Amster is a physician and faculty member of the Touro school of medicine. With twenty years of experience as a pain management specialist, he is currently the founding director of the pain management department at Santa Cruz community health. He’s been a student of meditation for over thirty years, as well as a certified yoga teacher and meditation teacher. A.W.E. stands for Attention, Wait, Exhale and Expand, and the method is a five- to fifteen-second, three-step process for “micro-dosing mindfulness.”

My Burnout Moment That Changed My Career Path! | #32

Hi, my friend Shannon here with a short solo episode for you. My guest earlier this week on the podcast was burnout coach, Ash Burnside. Our conversation in Episode 31 of the podcast was really all about listening to our inner voices on the daily. And it really sunk in for me. Do you ever feel like you are running through life, trying to check off your to-do list, marking the boxes of things that you're supposed to be doing rather than prioritizing what you want to do each day. I am raising my hand right now because yes, I am the queen of this. Hopefully my experience and my burnout moment will shed some light on your situation. How I Recovered From Burnout And Completely Changed My Life In 3 Months

How I Recovered From Burnout And Completely Changed My Life In 3 Months

The last couple of years have been incredibly intense, and after a wake-up call in the fall of 2021, it was time for Allison to do a hard reset on her life and priorities.

On today's show, she shares more about the certification process she's been going through and how that completely changed her life. She'll give an overview of what's to come and how her well-being went from "getting by" to consistently thriving in only 3 months thanks to the science of positive psychology.

    Memorable Moments:

➡️ "I took a real intentional pause. I also sought out a lot of support for myself, because I knew that I needed to heal on the inside. I needed to give myself grace and I needed to surround myself with amazing people to help me reset, refresh, and refocus."

➡️  "I was noticing a lot of common themes where people were feeling kind of stuck, or women would come to me and say, 'I know I'm so much more capable than how I'm showing up. I want to be vibrant, I want to be radiant, I want to know that I'm in alignment with my mission and my purpose and my values and my vision. And most importantly, I want to be happier and more joy-filled and fulfilled and engaged with the work that I'm doing."

➡️  "I found the world of positive psychology, which is the science of happiness, wellbeing, and success, all things that I love and just want more of in my life because I feel like if we're not living intentionally, we're just kind of going through the motions."

➡️ "Because when you're happier, and you're showing up as the best most vibrant version of you, you are able to pour into others. You are able to attract opportunities that you want for yourself. You are a magnet, essentially, for what you want in your life. And I can tell you that this experience has changed my life forever."

163: Burnout & Chronic Stress - with Erica Cuni, Stress & Burnout Expert

Erica Cuni, known as "The Burnout Professor," is a Stress and Burnout Expert, Integrative Performance Coach, Professional Speaker, Social Media Creator, and Fellow Survivor.

She is the founder of "The C.U.N.I.(Create Undeniable Natural Impact) Method” and is a former Trauma Psychotherapist, Clinical Director, and Adjunct Faculty at Central Connecticut State University.

Her mission is to help make the mental health field more effective, accessible, decolonized, and non-stigmatizing. This approach is what she wished she had - a guide to thrive consciously without pathologizing her for doing her job, life events, and the intergenerational trauma she was carrying around with her.

Erica found her mission in 2014 after being hit by a Mack Dump Truck (literally) while driving to work and having her life fall entirely apart over the following 14 months.

In this episode, we discuss the connection between trauma and burnout, how burnout can show up in the body, the difference between burnout and chronic stress, diagnosis and medication, dealing with burnout recovery, self-care and mindfulness, and more.

In this episode, I chat with the wonderful and wise Mandy Manners, author, speaker, coach, and co-founder of Love Sober - the passionate community and podcast advocating for alcohol-free living to support mental health and wellbeing.

*So there are no surprises, this conversation discusses issues including depression, anxiety and sexual assault.*

Mandy is a Certified Professional Life and Recovery Coach, a She Recovers® Designated Coach, a Gray Area Drinking Coach, and Specialist Coach Trainer for The Coaching Academy in Addictive Behaviours & Habit Change. She specialises in mindset and recovery coaching, focusing on the impact that trauma and mental wellbeing have on problematic alcohol use.

It was reading Mandy and Kates's brilliant book, Love yourself Sober, that inspired me to ditch drinking over the past five months. I’m aware that I say this from a place of privilege as being addicted to alcohol is a whole other ball game. But I share this because my physical and mental health has benefited massively from not drinking, and so perhaps this period of sobriety may last much longer than I previously planned.

This is a searingly honest conversation where Mandy talks about:

    • Drinking in the 90s ‘Ladette’ culture
    • How alcohol helped her navigate moving to France and motherhood
    • Her own moments of burnout and what she now does to support herself
    • Why alcohol is addictive as a stimulant and a depressant
    • How alcohol often helps women connect with themselves and who they were before they became mothers
    • Why sobriety is a rebellious act in todays world
    • The cost of alcohol on your health, not just your wallet
    • How problematic drinking lies on a spectrum
