66 - Whats Next for Me
Are you waiting for a master career plan to be handed to you? Cindy Esliger talks about how we can go about exploring possibilities in our careers, because we are in charge of our own fulfillment. Instead of waiting on others to offer job satisfaction, we need to be open to possibilities and change.
Cindy shares some signs that indicate we might not be happy at our jobs: feeling unfulfilled, dragging ourselves to work without enthusiasm, feeling like we’ve hit a dead end. This might mean it’s time to start considering a career transformation. It’s time to shape our own futures by exploring what drives us, what fulfills us, and where we want to go.
A career treasure hunt, is how Cindy words it. Her advice includes researching different industries, volunteering in new roles to get experience, networking to build new relationships, and above all, stepping outside our comfort zones. Ultimately it’s our journey to define, nobody can do that for us. And since fulfillment in our careers is important to happiness outside of work too, take the time to consider new paths with Cindy’s guidance.

Defining Your Values is the First Step to Taking Ownership of Your Career
On today’s episode I’m talking about how the practice of clearly articulating your values is one of the very first steps to taking ownership of your career. Too often we have our head in the sand, or we're hustling through all the work, and we don't stop and take a look around to see if what we're doing is in alignment with our values.
Because knowing your values, and being in alignment with your values at work, can improve job satisfaction and happiness. And with the rates of burnout and all around misery right now... this feels VERY important!
To help you out, I created a free exercise to help you identify your personal values so you can start taking ownership of your career ASAP. I’ll walk you through the simple steps to clarifying your key values so you can take a quick gut check on how your current job situation is aligning with your values (if it is) and start thinking about what changes you can make to achieve better alignment, which will help you feel better within that job.
Grab your free exercise to start pinning down your key values today!

Kristin Sherry | Career Grief and The Gift of Hindsight
Kristin Sherry is a bestselling and award-winning author, creator of YouMap®, a 2020 Career Innovator Award recipient, and she's also my mentor. Her brilliance is why I am a Certified YouMap® Coach.
If you have been struggling with your life path, career, purpose, or what I like to call - a midlife unraveling, this episode is for you!
Grief is the loss of hopes, dreams, and expectations. When it comes to what we spend most of our waking hours doing if we don't love it, don't utilize all of our skills, or aren't valued, grief is often the result.
It's also for you if you've experienced grief of any kind, too. Why? Because, also in this episode, Kristin and I talk about why I include this program with my one-on-one grief recovery clients and why as grievers, we can sometimes feel isolated within our love relationships.
Kristin shares how her own losses and career grief have shaped her work today and why perception matters. We also get into how the way we grieve, when misunderstood, can cause further conflict and grief in our lives.
There will be golden nuggets (and a new favorite analogy of mine) in this episode you've likely never heard before (even if you've listened to every previous episode). I hope this episode inspires you. And, if you want more inspiration after you listen, be sure to follow Kristin on Instagram!
