Cybersecurity: How Companies Are One Hack Away From Disaster

Even before the COVID-19 Pandemic, the world has been moving towards digitization. We spend almost all our lives on the internet and even the mundane things we interface with like our fridges, coffee makers, cars, and houses can be connected to the network. This marriage between the digital and physical worlds has vastly improved our lives.. But also increasingly poses a security threat.

Cyber attacks are becoming increasingly impactful. Cybercriminals can hold your data and systems hostage, threatening your business continuity.

Just recently, meat processor JBS paid $11 million in ransom to the hacker group,  REvil, as they initiated the cyberattack that shut down JBS packing plants for at least a day!

If you want to take a peek into the cybersecurity industry or simply learn how to defend yourself against malicious hackers, tune in!

    JBS Cyberattack + RXBAR’s First Plant-Based Bar

    JBS Cyberattack + RXBAR’s First Plant-Based Bar

JBS, the world’s largest meat company, experienced a sophisticated cyberattack, compromising normal operations in the US, Canada and Australia. In this episode of the Xtalks Food Podcast, Sydney discusses the JBS ransomware attack and how no company, large or small, is fully protected from this type of attack. The team gives their thoughts on the attack and emphasizes the need for more cybersecutiry in the food industry.

Also in this episode, Mira introduces the team to RXBAR’s first plant-based protein bar. RXBAR has replaced egg whites as its main source of protein with a blend of pea and almond proteins in the new bars, offering Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter flavors. The team discusses the niche, but popular plant-based protein bar market and why RXBAR is entering this segment at the right time.

In our monthly roundup with Leah Douglas we talk about the recent fines levied on Smithfield and JBS by OSHA. Spoiler alert, they are barely even fines. Meanwhile the companies continue to see significant numbers of Covid.

    Hipocrisia S/A

    Hipocrisia S/A
