An instant queer classic, this candy-colored flick is packed full of heart, silliness, and undeniable chemistry between Natasha Lyonne and Clea DuVall.  Whether you first watched it as a preteen without parental supervision or only saw it after MUNA and Phoebe Bridgers dropped their "Silk Chiffon" music video, it's pretty much consensus that Jamie Babbit's satirical rom-com is required viewing — and if you somehow still haven't seen it, well, we would be honored to make the introduction.

Balancing the dark and the light sides of coming of age, womanhood, and navigating the social order is something filmmaker Nida Manzoor always strives for in her projects (like WE ARE LADY PARTS and POLITE SOCIETY, in theaters now). Iconic comedic character actor Paul Dooley carved out a role as Hollywood’s go-to movie Dad while his own children were missing. Paul played dad to Julia Roberts, Mia Farrow, Toni Collette, Dennis Christopher in Breaking Away and Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles, all as his ex-wife was on the run with his kids.

The pandemic pause compelled Paul to chronicle his story in the new book, Movie Dad: Finding Myself and My Family, On Screen and Off. Me and Mikey talked about our love of Clea Duvall and Natasha Lyonne and how they are responsible for some of the most groundbreaking films of the era. 

We get into the story of how Natasha was cast as Megan, the fashion and interiors that are to die for, and why Rupaul playing a  counselor is pure CAMP.

We're back in the NY club scene about a decade later with the Party Monster story. While we mostly stay on the film track we get detailed about the many documentaries about the true story that more than inspired this tale. There are so many fashion standouts that could be its own episode. The portrayal of Michael Alig and James St. James by Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green deserves all the awards. Me, Charles, and Mikey talk this INSANE story, the uncomfortable accuracies, and question just how the fuck this all happened.

Off-topic rants include: TV shows we're obsessing on, newish Brokeback Mountain news, and tales about Mikey's dog Boss.
