    Grit and Resilience

    Grit and Resilience
What does it take to stand strong in a man’s world where women, even queens, were subject to the whims of their husbands, the church, and public perception? Eleanor of Aquitaine had wealth, power, and more land than the kings of France, yet she still struggled to keep her independence as a Woman, as a Duchess and, as a Queen. And when life threw this woman lemons, she threw them back, in a trebuchet! Let’s journey back in time to the life of Eleanor, a woman of great intellect and intense passion whose mental and physical resilience is the stuff of legends.

Ep. 21 Stay the Course || Conversation with Katelin

This week we have our 2nd episode in our series “Stay the Course”. In this episode we interview our good friend and fellow podcaster Katelin Lamberti. We talk about not giving up and navigating how to hear from God for yourself (especially on big life decisions). We also talk about the role prophetic words play in helping us along our journey in “creating history” with God.

291: Change is in the Air

291: Change is in the Air

A change of month could be a change of perspective. Either way, change is in the air! Michelle wants to help support her listeners in the change that is amongst us.

Paying attention to how you’re feeling, what words you’re using and what you’re telling yourself, can help you manage change. Do you think “big picture” or get caught up in the day by day?

On this episode we dive into:

    • Change and the excitement versus the unknown
    • Taking a look at the bigger picture to structure your life
    • Allowing change be an opportunity to say goodbye to things that no longer serve us
    • How our reactions are an indication that change needs to happen
    • Being conscious of our attitude toward others as a way to dissect what’s going on internally

    The Take Home:

Change is inevitable. There is no reason we can’t embrace change with grace. If you need a helping hand in making some big personal changes in your life, Michelle wants to help support these big moves. Create a mantra for yourself! Take three adjectives and start the sentence with “I AM..” For example, I am prosperous, I am brave, I am safe.

No Limits-Ed from MapMyFitness & MapMyRun Proves Age is a Mindset, Fitness Should Never Stop

No Limits-Ed from MapMyFitness & MapMyRun Proves Age is a Mindset, Fitness Should Never Stop

Bucks County Bytes is happy to introduce to you my friend, Ed Baumstark from MapMyFitness and MapMyRun, Under Armour, one of my fitness apps that I have been using since 2013.
Ed has always been my mentor as far as making one push the limit. I love using the app as it gives me the incentive to keep pushing every day, no matter what, to make sure I move. Ed would be up early in the am, out walking Ryder his beautiful dog, biking for many many miles, and just logging in multiple workouts a day. It's the motivational spirit that he has to give everyone, as he just pushes you to get out the door seeing those rides, walks, and keeping everything in such a positive spirit.
There were many years in there that I didn't log any workouts as there were some difficult years and I now realize that no matter what the situation, or age, or condition one is in, fitness is a must.
I asked Ed onto my podcast as he has the gift of fitness to share with many. Ed is a senior, but you wouldn't know it as his mindset is strong and he is a very wise and knowledgeable man who has known workouts his whole life. You could say Ed was a trendsetter, as he was a long-distance runner way back in the '70s before there was such a thing called bottled water and hydration packets. He is authentic, original, spiritual, and has healed himself by fitness and much more.
Have a listen to Ed speak on his first podcast, as his wisdom is shared with my audience, his friends and family, and all of our wonderful acquaintances on MMF and MMR.
Thank you Ed for sharing your story!

    It Hurts Like HELL

    It Hurts Like HELL

Going throw a divorce might hijack our minds and take us to a place where we can't think clearly. It can be so overwhelming that I've seen people experiencing physical pain. I've even heard people saying that it felt like they were having their hearth pulled out of their chest. When I was going through my divorce, one of the advice that most helped me was that despite it hurts like hell; it will get better eventually. And it did, and I'm here to assure you the same, it might be hurting like hell, but it will get better.

    Shelley Soderstrom: Stay Strong

    Shelley Soderstrom: Stay Strong

Shelley is a young mother and wife who over the past 16 years has been diagnosed with cancer in several areas of her body resulting in amputation, lung removal, several surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. Throughout her journey which began when she was in high school, Shelley role modeled her “Stay Strong” motto as she continued to do what she had to do to get through her life because, as she put it, she had no choice. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have. After hearing Shelley’s story you are sure to be inspired to get through whatever adversity you are facing!

    We learned from Shelley:

*Sometimes we have no choice and just need to do it.

*God only gives you what you can handle, but you can’t fake to God your strength.

*“Stay Strong” is not just a motto or mantra, but a way of life.

*It is important to be realistic and stay in the present while setting short term goals.

Get Back In The Game - Audio

Get Back In The Game - Audio
It's easy to have a good attitude when things are going perfectly, but not so much when things are on the not so perfect side. It's easy to lose passion when you're hurting, easy to sit on the sidelines, nursing your wounds, and not move forward. But it's time to get up. The enemy wants you out of the game and forgetting that there is a greater reward at its finish.
