    • The Challenge of Technoference in RelationshipsBe intentional about giving undistracted attention to build stronger and more meaningful connections in relationships.

Every relationship faces common challenges, and one of the most universal issues is the lack of presence and connection due to technology. Despite spending time together physically, the absence of undivided attention and presence can make the relationship feel empty and unfulfilling. This phenomenon is known as Technoference, and it affects a significant percentage of relationships. To overcome this challenge, it's essential to communicate the need for presence and energy instead of just time. By being intentional about giving each other undistracted attention, we can build stronger and more meaningful connections in our relationships.

    • Being fully present in conversationsAvoid distractions during important talks, ask for undivided attention, and commit to putting devices away during meals to strengthen relationships.

Effective communication in relationships requires setting aside undivided attention when important matters are being discussed. Constant distractions, such as checking texts or emails during conversations, can create stress and challenges in relationships. To navigate this issue, it's essential to ask for dedicated attention when necessary and make a commitment to put devices away during meals. By setting expectations and clarifying availability, both partners can ensure they're fully present and engaged in the conversation. This approach fosters a deeper connection and better understanding between partners.

    • Effective communication and presence in relationshipsAsk questions collaboratively, use mirroring for active listening, and set physical cues for transitioning into home life to build and maintain strong relationships.

Effective communication and presence are key to building and maintaining strong relationships. The speaker emphasizes the importance of asking questions in a collaborative way and using techniques like mirroring to show active listening. Mirroring involves repeating the last words someone says to demonstrate your presence and engagement in the conversation. Another challenge in relationships is the blurring of boundaries between work and home life, leading to stress and lack of decompression time. To counteract this, setting physical cues for transitioning into home life, such as using calming scents and music, can help establish a relaxing and connecting evening routine. Overall, the speaker encourages the importance of creating presence and intimacy in relationships through active listening and intentional transitions between work and home life.

    • Creating a sanctuary at home and workRecognize homes as sanctuaries, find activities for self-care, communicate effectively, and prioritize self-care for leaders to maintain balance between work and home life.

Both work and home life can contribute significantly to stress and self-doubt. It's essential to recognize that our homes should be a sanctuary, a place where we feel rejuvenated and refueled. If you find yourself constantly demanding or questioning your partner at home, take a moment to breathe and give them space to disconnect and recharge. Find individual and collective activities that help you both regenerate and create habits for self-care. Communication is also crucial, especially for leaders who may be dealing with mental health challenges. It's important to find the courage to open up to your team about your struggles and create a supportive work environment. By prioritizing self-care and open communication, we can create a healthier balance between work and home life.

    • Embrace vulnerability for stronger connectionsLeaders and non-leaders can create safe spaces at work by expressing emotions, fostering stronger connections. Create affordable, comfortable outdoor spaces during summer for overall well-being and support your gut instincts with the right supplements.

Vulnerability and openness in expressing emotions can lead to stronger connections and safe spaces at work. Leaders can set the tone by creating such environments, while non-leaders can foster them among their peers. Meanwhile, during the summer, creating an affordable and comfortable outdoor living space can enhance overall well-being and reduce the pressure to seek excessive connection or relaxation at home. Lastly, trusting your gut instincts can sometimes lead to unexpected challenges, but having the right support, like Ritual's Synbiotic Plus supplement, can help navigate those situations more effectively. Overall, embracing vulnerability, creating affordable summer escapes, and trusting your gut with the right support can significantly improve various aspects of life.

    • Spending more on a wedding may lead to higher divorce ratesFocus on the relationship, not just the wedding, for a successful marriage. Communication, quality time, therapy, shared responsibilities, and clear expectations are key components.

While many millennials desire to get married, the amount spent on a wedding may impact the longevity of the marriage. Studies suggest that the more money spent on a wedding, the higher the divorce rate. Instead of focusing solely on the wedding day, it's essential to invest time and effort into the relationship itself. Communication, quality time, therapy, and shared responsibilities are crucial components of a successful marriage. Additionally, having clear expectations and divisions of labor regarding household chores can prevent potential challenges. Remember, a beautiful wedding does not guarantee a happy marriage. The real investment lies in the commitment and effort put into the relationship itself.

    • Creating new standards in relationships and lifeFocus on setting new standards in relationships and life that work for both individuals, be open to discussing and adjusting expectations, and make the most of summer with affordable options from IKEA.

In relationships, it's essential to create new standards together and regularly reassess expectations as life changes. Our experiences and upbringing can shape our expectations, but they may not align with our partner's. Instead of relying on past experiences, we should focus on setting new standards that work for both individuals. This includes being open to discussing and adjusting expectations when necessary. Additionally, summer plans don't have to be limited or expensive. IKEA offers affordable outdoor furniture and accessories to help make the most of the season. Lastly, CVS Health is committed to providing comprehensive health and wellness services, including virtual care and mental health support, to make healthier living more accessible for everyone.

What's a simple negotiation trick you can try today?

How can you get better at persuading others?

Today, Jay welcomes former FBI lead international kidnapping negotiator and author of "Never Split the Difference", Chris Voss. He is renowned for his innovative negotiation strategies that emphasize empathy, emotional intelligence, and tactical communication. He is also a popular speaker and has taught negotiation at various business schools.

He reframes negotiation as a collaborative process rather than a confrontational one and suggests that effective negotiation often goes unnoticed because it looks like seamless collaboration. They Weren't The One For You and That's Ok (8 Steps to Breakthrough Heartbreak)

They Weren't The One For You and That's Ok (8 Steps to Breakthrough Heartbreak)

How did you realize they weren't the one for you?

How did you cope with the heartbreak?

Today shares a detailed exploration of the emotional journey involved in recognizing and accepting that someone you once believed was "the one" for you, wasn't actually the right person. Often, it’s common for people to convince themselves that someone is the perfect partner, even before that person has committed or shown signs of being a suitable match. This can lead to heartbreak when the relationship fails, but  it’s okay because the person wasn't truly right for them either.

Jay also discusses the importance of understanding whether the person was truly healed from past wounds or whether they were presenting a version of themselves that wasn’t authentic. Consider the idea that sometimes people stay in relationships out of fear of being alone rather than genuine love or connection. And if a partner is unable or unwilling to engage in meaningful conversations, they might not be the right person.

    In this episode you'll learn:

How to recognize when someone isn't right for you

How to focus on your partner's reality, not ideals

    How to prioritize meaningful conversations

How to stay self-aware after a breakup

How to balance emotions in a relationship

Remember, it's okay if someone wasn't the one for you—what matters most is that you remain true to yourself and continue to seek the love and connection you deserve.

    With Love and Gratitude,

Dr. Aliza Pressman: How to Avoid Your Parents Mistakes & Raise Confident and Resilient Kids

Dr. Aliza Pressman: How to Avoid Your Parents Mistakes & Raise Confident and Resilient Kids

How do you help your children build confidence?

How do you teach your kids to be resilient?

Today, Jay welcomes Dr. Aliza Pressman. Aliza is a developmental psychologist with nearly two decades of experience working with families and healthcare providers. She is the host of the Raising Good Humans podcast and an expert in parenting strategies and child development. Dr. Pressman is also the author of The Five Principles of Parenting: Your Essential Guide to Raising Good Humans, where she offers practical advice and insights for parents looking to raise emotionally resilient and well-rounded children.

Aliza begins by discussing whether everyone should become a parent and emphasizes the importance of being intentional and reflective before making that decision. She suggests that potential parents should think about their own values and how they want to approach parenting. She explains that having a strong, secure bond with a child is crucial for their development and that this bond can evolve over time, even if there have been mistakes along the way.

Some children are more sensitive and require a specific environment to thrive, while others are more adaptable. She encourages parents to be mindful of their child’s unique needs. The discussion moves on to discipline and encouragement. Dr. Pressman suggests that discipline should focus on teaching rather than punishing, with clear boundaries set for the child’s safety and well-being. When it comes to building confidence, she emphasizes that helping children develop skills (competence) is more effective than simply giving praise.

    In this interview, you'll learn:

How to handle parenting guilt and shame

How to set boundaries for your child

How to build your child’s confidence

    How to discipline effectively

How to foster independence in your child

How to build a secure attachment with your child

By focusing on building secure attachments, setting clear boundaries, and fostering independence, parents can create a nurturing environment where their children can thrive.

6 Steps to Detox from Your Phone & Reduce Your Anxiety Levels

How often do you check your phone daily?

Do you feel anxious when you’re away from your phone?

Today, Jay addresses the growing concern of excessive phone and internet usage, exploring its detrimental effects on mental and physical health. He begins by explaining how activities like swiping, liking, and commenting on social media provide our brains with dopamine hits, which can create a cycle of dependency and compulsive behavior. Despite the benefits of technology, such as increased connectivity and access to information, many people feel less connected and more distracted, anxious, and impatient.

Jay elaborates on the neurological aspects of dopamine and its role in pleasure-seeking behaviors, emphasizing that problems arise when we expect constant rewards from our online activities. He draws parallels between the brain's response to food and its response to digital consumption, advocating for a balanced approach that avoids overindulgence in either.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

Robert Greene: How to Deal with Negative People When They Are in Your Family, Friend Circle or Work

Robert Greene: How to Deal with Negative People When They Are in Your Family, Friend Circle or Work

How do you deal with negative people close to you?

How do you stay positive around negative people?

Today, Jay welcomes Robert Greene, known for his bestsellers like "The 48 Laws of Power" and "The Daily Laws." Robert's works draw on historical figures and events to provide insights into the dynamics of power and social influence. His books are often used as guides for personal development, leadership, and understanding the complexities of human interactions.

Robert shares tips on dealing with negative people, emphasizing the importance of emotional distance and understanding that everyone has their flaws and shares his thoughts on the idea that our sense of self is just a mental construct, and real enlightenment comes from letting go of our egos. He also stresses the importance of questioning your beliefs to truly understand who you are and what you’re meant to do in life.

Followed by Jay and Robert's discussion on why it's more important to judge people by their character rather than their intelligence or charm, how a strong character is shown by handling criticism well, working well with others, and managing stress. They also talk about how modern life can make us less empathetic and the need to genuinely connect with others.

    In this interview, you'll learn:

How to deal with negative people

How to develop empathy in modern life

How to question your own beliefs

How to stay true to yourself

    How to handle criticism constructively

    How to manage stress effectively

By understanding the nature of the self, maintaining emotional distance from negativity, and focusing on genuine connections, we can foster a stronger sense of empathy and authenticity in our lives.

    With Love and Gratitude,

    Jay Shetty

4 Ways We Self-Sabotage & 3 Ways to Improve the Relationship We Have With Ourselves

4 Ways We Self-Sabotage & 3 Ways to Improve the Relationship We Have With Ourselves

    What’s blocking you?

    What’s holding you back?

Today, Jay talks about the concept of self-sabotage, examining how it manifests in various aspects of our lives and offering strategies for overcoming it. Self-sabotage is defined as behaviors that undermine our own success, happiness, and stated goals. These actions often occur subconsciously, rooted in deep psychological patterns formed during early childhood.

Jay outlines four primary ways people self-sabotage: chronic lateness, procrastination, putting oneself down, and perfectionism. He also discusses the habit of putting oneself down, which can manifest through over-apologizing or refusing to take credit for accomplishments. This behavior is often linked to low self-esteem or an internalized critical voice from childhood.

    In this episode, you'll learn:

    How to Recognize Self-Sabotage

How to Stop Putting Yourself Down

    How to Change Negative Self-Talk

    How to Understand Your Triggers

    How to Set Boundaries

By understanding and working through these patterns, you can unlock your full potential and achieve the success and happiness you desire.

    With Love and Gratitude,

    Jay Shetty

Do you think much about how you communicate within the family? What you do behind closed doors is what rings the loudest.

Too many conversations have come and gone with how children relate with each other. My children tell me the stories of situations witnessed at school, and some that they've been in.

Understand, there are two side to every story. However, what I hear is lacking in basic communication with respect.

There is no respect for others.

With fashion, anything goes! But respect? It needs to be here to stay.

    So where has respect gone?

I listen at our bus stops how children speak to one another. How a child interacts with their sibling.

I don't understand why these children speak the way they do. We're talking pre-school, kindergarten, first and second graders. And when they get older, it only gets worse.

And how about a high school girl talking about her sister. And not in a playful, teasing manner; but in a degrading and gut-punching conversation.

How is this serving the family? How is this serving the child as they grow up?

Where has respect gone? Does anything go?

How can you gain respect back in your family?

The K.I.S.S. ~ Show respect in your family!

    1. Use your manners.
    2. Set boundaries.
    3. Model the "golden rule".

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. (Reference Matthew 7:12 and Luke 6:31)

"What you practice is how you perform."

    We all have a responsibility.

What you do daily is how you live, which is your life. Little things add up.

If you had a confession camera following you, what would it reveal?

"What you practice is how you perform!"

    960 The Voice of Truth

    960 The Voice of Truth

In your life, where does the voice of truth come from? Whose whispers gain your greatest attention?

Maybe it's the constant failures and short-comings.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACThttp://facebook.com/groups/thewomenofimpact

Maybe it's the faults of your past.

Maybe it's your own belief that you're never good enough.

Why is it that we hang out with our stumbles and failures questioning our worth?

Never once did God hesitate when He created you; fearfully and wonderfully made, knowing every hair on your head.

Yet where is the voice of truth?

Is it the naysayers, the badgers, the mockers? Is that where your voice of truth is being solidified and defined?

I want you to really think about whom you are putting your trust in.

The K.I.S.S. ~ The Voice of Truth!

REFLECTION: Today, I want you to reflect on these three questions.

    1. Where is the voice of truth coming from?
    2. What is the voice of truth telling you?
    3. How are you using the voice of truth in your life?

If you are hearing God, the only voice of truth, then you know you are loved, given a gift of salvation, and grace for your life's journey.

That's the voice of truth you need to be listening to.

Not the negative CRAP, the doubts and drama of others, and not the daily sagas of self-centered mindsets.

It's all about control, earthly control. What happened to Heavenly control?

Let God wash away the torment of lies that threaten your greatness He's creating within you.

Let it go! Let God have it all!

    Give Him your heart.
Dedicate your life to glorify Him.
Rejoice with the voice of truth.

As you go out this week...

"One step at a time leads to miles of greatness!"

May God bless you this week in all your steps, in all your endeavors. Seek His guidance. Praise His name. The voice of truth!

967 Are You Your Own Superhero?

967 Are You Your Own Superhero?

When do you decide that you can do something? When do you believe? Are you your own superhero?

We are mesmerized by the fortitude and feats of those who believe. Regardless of the challenges they face, somehow they pick themselves back up, with no guarantee of success, and plunge ahead.

Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACThttp://facebook.com/groups/thewomenofimpact

Why is this so? Do they have some super power when it comes to belief? What makes them different?

These questions leave us at a crossroad. As you ponder and reason out what might work for you, a little voice whispers... "This is too hard. You're not going to make it. Who are you kidding?"

Defeat is easier to accept when the least amount of blood, sweat, and tears are invested.

Unfortunately, too many people are walking away from their dreams without the satisfaction that they've even tried.

"Just as our bodies need water to survive, so does our spirit need belief to thrive."

    Are you your own superhero?

If you want to live your dreams, you must believe even when you can't see.

The new movie, "Spiderman Homecoming" that came out a few months ago, show Peter wanting to help and do great things through Tony Stark's internship. Stark didn't believe --- but Peter did! Peter made mistakes, yet learned along the way as to what worked and what didn't.

You must be your own superhero! Believe when you can and believe when you can't.

It's not about proof or proving it to others.

The K.I.S.S. ~ Be your own superhero --- BELIEVE!

It's about YOU renewing your heart, believing in who God is, and knowing who He says YOU are!

    Are you your own superhero?

    • Do you believe what you see?
    • Do you believe what you can't see?
    • Do you believe?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path." ~ Proverbs 3:5-6

    REFLECTION

    1. How much do you believe?
    2. How much do you trust?

"BELIEVE... so you can live, love, and impact!"
